  1. I've brought this before: http://www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...p;ParentCat=320 My chiro has told me to get a mixture from the Butcher and soak the dogs feet in it, I think it called it Brine but anytime I asked for it they didn't have it.
  2. If your dog had rushed mine regardless if yours was a nice dog or not I would have been pissed as I have a dog that's not so nice and the simple act of your dog rushing would have started mine off. They were prob pissed because they've had plenty of experiences of dogs like yours rushing them and they'd had enough....I can understand that. You can either contact the Ranger and get your side of the story in now or wait for them to contact you.
  3. Is what you're saying relevant to this particular case? i.e. are you saying that the chicken is most likely causing an allergic reaction that is causing the dog to display symptoms that appear like flea allergy dermatitis?
  4. If a dog is experiencing allergies young it is actually known to get worse not better. Perhaps you should go back to your Vet and if you're not making any headway ask for a referral to a Derm. The area that you are experiencing does sound like Flea Allergy Dermatitis, so you'll probably want to make sure you flea bomb your house, make sure the treatment you are using on your dog is working and so forth. Allergies are very much individual, what works for one dog won't neccessarily work for the next. Hoping in your case it is a very straight forward case of a flea allergy and not a whole bunch of different allergens.
  5. MSM is registered for use of Colitis. You can but it in bulk on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1-Kgs-MSM-99-9-pure...=item1c183c3e45 Might be something you might like to consider in addition to what your Vet suggests.
  6. Maybe you need to be a bit more careful about leaving the door open? I think you should seek the help of a Behaviourist and your Breeder. Your dog really isn't a puppy anymore, they're a teenager and if you don't get this sorted now it's only going to get worse.
  7. Oh wow, that's bloody rude. Smart enough to figure it out? All you left people to do is make assumptions. Grow up eh?
  8. How and why do you think an egg a day will help this dog?
  9. We're feeding early and exercising late with hot days.
  10. eh? So what exactly happened?
  11. We have a dog that can't manage the exercise and socialisation that the other can't so it means making sure each dog does things individually as well as together sometimes. My boy's idea of fun isn't a dog park although my girl loves the attention from humans she gets there LOL So she goes and he stays home and then he'll be taken out to do what he enjoys. I think it's really important with multiple dogs to ensure the have time apart to be independent of one another.
  12. I have their litter sister and she has been fully toilet trained since 14 weeks... sometimes she is crated at night and sometimes she has run of the house but we have never had an accident Doesn't sound like a training problem then? How about feeding them much earlier i.e. around 4pm if possible, that way they'd toilet before bed?
  13. How are the other dogs in the litter with the toileting behaviour?
  14. Not sure I could leave them behind. It's just one of those things you don't know how you would handle until the time came.
  15. Looks like Flea Allergy Dermatitis to me. Can you get Revolution in PNG? I'd wash and flea treat and hope for the best, although if you can't give regular treatment I'm not sure there is a point as harsh as that sounds?
  16. Thank you to our Nominator, Lance and I really didn't expect a nomination and it was a nice surprise to get Julie's call.

    Licking Problem

My last foster was like this and she did settle down which some guidence. It can be alot to do with anxiety so you may want to look into Jan Fennel methods of ignoring the dog to take the pressure off.
  18. I think you're giving him an opportunity to make a mistake. I would put him on a lead before he gets out of the crate and lead him to where you want to go and praise. Taking him out every 1-2 hours when you're home, not that an adult needs to go that often however at least for the 1st week it helps to cement what you want, it's a method that works well for us anyway. If the dog has come from an environment where the toileting arrangements have been really dicey it could take a longer period of time. The most important thing is setting the dog up for success.
  19. I believe if you live in Suburbia and your dog is not getting out there everyday to do some form of a job then you are neglecting your dog by not exercising it everyday. To me exercising a dog is not driving to a dog park and opening a door. If your dog is uncontrollable on walks then seek the help of someone who can help you. If you dog is too scared to go out then seek the help of someone who can help you. If you don't like the area you live in, in regards to stray dogs, then take your dog somewhere else. There is always a solution. As an owner of a dog aggressive Giant Breed who goes out everyday to exercise their dog I can't for the life of me comprehend the rationale's people try and give. People make a tonne of excuses.....there are none, get off your lazy bot bot and take your dog for a walk. If your dog is sick or too old then that's all very understandable.
  20. Because it's 2 different sets of skills, in the show ring you're asking the dog to gate around a ring and out and back....all of about 2 minutes with a pretty predictable environment. Walking a dog you're dealing with a 20+ minute walk with an unpredictable environment and unlimited distractions.
  21. Yep, use them on the small or young fosters. For the Danes I cut their nails and then Dremmel otherwise it can take forever. Don't don't love it but put up with it because they have no other choice.
  22. We have had Neuter as a property class for a number of years and about 3 enter. Points weren't on offer then though were they.
  23. Still early days yet. A great concept for those purchasing dogs now that they want to desex but still want to be involved in the hobby. You also have to remember that most Clubs have showees as members not a huge amount of companion dog owners, so it's also about getting the word out to those people and that can come from the Breeders when they home their litters.
