  1. I am not experienced with labs, so i will wait for someone else. but i would say its totally normal :) Also he is adorable and i can see why you love him to pieces!
  2. can you just scissor her legs? Or is that not an option? A lot of dogs i groom hate their front legs being done, so instead of freaking them out unnecessarily, i just scissor their legs. Ends up being quicker too as you don't have to wrestle with them to hold their legs for the clippers.
  3. I can second the clipperworld tables, i bought mine from there and it has been great :)
  4. How interesting :) That makes sense. You learn something new every day!
  5. It was mentioned before, and i am just curious, why do hairless cats need bathing?
  6. I agree with most of your post, except the fact that cats don't need a bath. I feel like they need baths just as much as dogs do. In saying that I think dogs are often bathed too often, but thats a whole different topic.
  7.  those pussycats look like they're going to take revenge upon you while you're sleeping. They really do  But i have so far survived the night :) People must think i am a horrible pet owner haha I did pay them for their time with some chicken. So they were a bit more forgiving after that!
  8. Had to include the cats in the festivities too, but i am not sure how keen they were
  9. Firstly, your dogs are beautiful :) I think all your reasons are very logical, especially the ticks. However I do believe that their coat is insulated. I am a groomer, and have clipped a few BC's. I don't really like doing it, and i can usually convince most people not to and to just do a trim and tidy up. or just clip their bellies short so they can lay on the tiles etc. Re. the coat regrowth thing, some dogs coats grow back terrible, super thick, full of the undercoat and can change colour. However some grow back perfectly fine. I also don't know if it makes them hotter or cooler, i find that clipped or not they all pant. Which is what most people measure 'hottness' on. Just do what suits you, in the end it is your decision :) I hope that helps. ETA: have you tried cooling coats?
  10. So Cute! I love it when they sleep like that :)
  11. On my bed :) They are spoilt ;) If its hot though, sometimes they choose to lie on the floor. Edit: to attach picture
  12. I know someone who hangs them on curtain rails :) I have attached a picture for you :)
  13. The wahl bravura is an excellent cordless clipper :) I have one and it lasts, is quiet and can be used as a corded clipper if necessary. The other cordless trimmer type ones are not fantastic though.
  14. I agree with that entire previous post :) However I have one cav that doesn't snore! He probably will later in life. My previous cav snored like a freight train... re. the playing with other dogs, my cavs will play rough with other cavs, but with other breeds of dogs they really only play chasey games. They have a few other breed friends that theyve known for a while who they'll play tug with. But no rough and tumbles. Also, if you see one, try and figure out if it is ACTUALLY a girl before saying "OMG! She's so cute!!" Happens to my boys on a daily basis haha They're too pretty for their own good.
  15. I know what you mean :) Thanks for checking :)
  16. I was recently working at a vet here in brisbane that had a dog come in with symptoms like that, they also suggested IMHA or cancer. They dosed him with intravenous vitamin C and (maybe vitamin K too?) but he completely picked up. ETA: through later scans it was found out that the dog was in fact riddled with cancer. Almost every organ in his body.. poor boy.
  17. Well i assume so, Considering I have seen fleas on the dogs :) And the itching stops once the fleas are no longer to be found. They are both raw fed and haven't had any issues with that so far, so I doubt it's anything but the little buggers!
  18. Elaine Cebuliak at Animal Wellness clinic here in Brisbane is wonderful. I don't know if she is experienced in that specific disease, but i am am sure she probably has dealt with it. She is extremely knowledgable. She is a naturopath and holistic vet, but is still also uses conventional medicine. She may be available for a phone consult, but you would obviously have to book in :)
  19. That made me go look at the site. OMG- This boy. http://adoptapet.com.au/animal/animalDetails.asp?animalType=3,16&statusid=3&regionID=75&task=search&tpage=1&animalid=311042 Too bad i can't have any more
  20. How strange. They are an australian site, but also ship worldwide, so maybe that is the reason. I will just buy elsewhere to be sure.
  21. Hi everyone, I have a question for you all. Do any of you know of the flea control product 'Stronghold"? My online supplier said they don't stock revolution but did stock stronghold. They said it was the same thing but cheaper? The packet is virtually the same, but the only thing that makes me wary is that it is cheaper. If it were exactly the same why would it be cheaper in cost? So do any of you have experience with this alternative product. I think for the time being i will stick to revolution. I previously used comfortis, but it is not proving effective anymore, so I am trying a different active ingredient to see if that kills the fleas :) My poor itchy boys. I hope it works!
