I was moving house the other day, and I clicked my fingers and pointed towards a room where I wanted a removalist to put a box. I "click and point" at my puppy when I want to get her attention and direct her somewhere (which is actually left over from my horsey days lol) and nearly died from embarrasment when I realised I did it to the removalist guy

When I first got my pug she was so small she was in a kitten harness, in a sort of soft car crate - http://www.hamishmcbeth.com/products/product_detail.asp?ProductID=929&CategoryNumber=55

A Question For Barf/raw Feeders
minimax replied to Rilla-My-Rilla's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
What about room temperature, would that make you feel better, rather that cold from the fridge? You could get the veggies and wings out the night before to "chill out" a bit? Honestly, I don't think the dogs mind. Mine doesn't stop long enough to chew, let alone feel the temperature of her food ;) -
5.1/2 Week Old Female Staffy Pups Stolen From Pet Shop
minimax replied to Marion 01's topic in General Dog Discussion
It's not Pet Barn, it's a shop called The Pet Company -
Mine tried to eat my chocolates that she gave me. Well, she tried to eat the wrappers, there wasn't much left of the chocolates because I ate them about 3 seconds after I got them. She did a good job of destroying the paper for me so I could put it in the recycling bin a lot easier.

5.1/2 Week Old Female Staffy Pups Stolen From Pet Shop
minimax replied to Marion 01's topic in General Dog Discussion
Bet they were taken by a activist group or someone who actually wants to take care of them properly and not have them left alone in a petshop overnight! -
Is it true Frenchies are really ...um...shall I say...flatulent? A Breeder told me this. Don't know about Frenchies, but Pugs are extremely flatulent (that's such a delicate way of putting it!)!

But when you move into a premises you pay a bond to cover any damages. It doesn't matter if the damages are caused by a person, a pet, a kid, a ghost, or whatever, the bond is paid for that reason. A pet bond is just double dipping on the money they can take from you, in my opinion. If they want to charge a pet bond, they should be decreasing the "real" bond and calling a part of that the pet bond, not adding another fee on top.

Off-lead Dog Parks With Lights - Sydney, Inner West
minimax replied to skully's topic in General Dog Discussion
That's the one I meant, it has the dog beach and heaps of space. yes it's fantastic. I don't like panto swimming there anymore since the one day there was a bull shark discovered not far from where the dogs swim! An incredibly rare occurence but panto is such a waterbaby I am not taking the risk! Plenty of other space for them to run. Er, seriously? I do dragon boat paddling in there twice a week and have never seen anything worse than jelly fish and lots of rubbish. Pretty gross water to swim in though, pups need a good rinse off when they come out! -
Where To Buy Flea And Heartworm Meds Online
minimax replied to Kavik's topic in General Dog Discussion
I use wherever is cheapest. Usually obay.com.au (with my vets "code" which gives a discount), or Mammoth Pet Supplies. I use Advantix and Interceptor as well, and usually find them a few dollars cheaper at Mammoth, especially as most places charge about $8 or $10 for shipping and they are only $6. -

Where To Sit When There Is No Room On The Couch?
minimax replied to LizT's topic in General Dog Discussion
Haha cute. My pup loves sleeping there too, sometimes it feels like they think the "pillow" is put there just for their head to rest on! -
My pug doesn't shed much at all. Some say blacks shed less than fawns, but everyone warned me about the shedding and I sit back laughing coz there is hardly any hair in my house

From where?
-
+1 on the pug, I have one plus another on the way! Temprament wise, Pugs and Bostons are sort of similar. Both are velcro dogs and would react to other dogs depending on how you raise it/train it and its own individual personality!

It does mean making sacrifices, but there are properties. I'm moving into a lovely house next week - we "won" the house over a couple with a toddler as well. The owners weren't too keen on the idea of a dog or a toddler, but in the end decided pet owners were usually more considerate of their environment as parents were a bit "aww isn't that cute, mary drew on the walls" about their precious child lol So yeh. I guess it depends on where you look, but I went directly to agents and said I'm looking for pet friendly rentals and they had bucketloads of them, they just don't advertise as pet friendly.
-
On the other hand, there are heaps of rental properties out there that DO allow pets, it just takes extra time and effort to find them. If tennants can't be bothered to put in this extra effort to find one that allows their pet, and would rather dump it, I doubt they would be the type of people who would be willing to pay extra in order to keep their pet. As usual, another time wasting law aimed at the wrong thing. So many better things they could be focusing on! How are the changes meant to cut down puppy farmers? As if puppy farmers are going to register their pets and allow themselves be open to getting "caught". Argh. I don't know what the right thing to do it though, so maybe I should just say "at least they are trying something?"

I've never used them, but these guys advertise on DOL http://www.jenvinemporium.com.au/

Obedience Trials Uncertainty
minimax replied to Mumscats's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Random, and sort of OT ... but what's the logic behind not desexing her just because she's purebred???
