  1. What special needs did the puppy have? Not having easy access to medical care for a special needs puppy sounds like a logical reason to knock someone back to me. Can't see where they said you weren't suitable for any dog though?
  2. Call a vet in the area you are going to and ask them about ticks.
  3. If they want a dog to watch them through the window they should consider a toy one.
  4. Although it shouldnt if coded properly, and uses things like percentages and not fixed widths *Removes geek pants*
  5. No please, continue ... I want to know where it goes after on the bed but not in the bed  Well, we have one bed sleeper and one pillow sleeper here. I do have a friend who dog-sat a Frenchie that liked to crawl up into her owner's nightie and lie er, betwixt her bosom.. my friend found that one out the first night - it was something the owner had failed to mention :D I have a head sleeper and a crotch sleeper, so I sort of understand that
  6. Found her, it's actually 2011katie1667 but she currently has no items for sale :/
  7. I think these days blogs style news pages have moved off websites onto things like fb (which I know not everyone has or uses). I know I'd never visit someones website regularly to see those things, but would follow them if they had a fb or something I could rss. That, however, opens a new can of worms onto who your target audience is.
  8. Mine are never left outside when we aren't home, they are a bit on the dopey side and like to sleep in the sun, which isn't great considering they are black pugs Hot days they are left inside with the fans on (we don't have a/c), cool mats or frozen bottles in their beds. I guess if you guys were safe outside in the shade, and there was a breeze at any stage, they would be okay ... but would they stay in the shade?
  9. Oh, maybe state how you prefer to be contacted - email, phone call etc?
  10. No please, continue ... I want to know where it goes after on the bed but not in the bed
  11. It might seem odd and trivial ... but a unique layout! I look at a lot of breeders websites and a lot of them have used the same template and it bugs me
  12. maybe a reminder is needed, as to the reason for this thread? Although the problem is looming across all breeds and breeders. Posted 18 December 2012 - 10:02 PM There were only 299 ANKC registered maltese bred australia wide last year - of them less than half would have main register papers If someone isnt working out some strategy to ensure survival of the breeds its time they woke up. There are breed clubs shutting down all over the place. I know what the thread was about, just not sure how sharing PM's and talking about lemmings related to it.
  13. I class roo tail as a weight bearing bone - I no longer feed them, though the dogs love them. My Belgian has sustained two slab fractures to molars through chomping on roo tail I was going to ask what the logic on weight bearing bones was. Is it that they are too hard for teeth?
  14. Lenards does too, that was the name of the other chicken shop I was trying to think of.
  15. All my local chicken shops have them. I get most of my chicken stuff from Red Lea chickens, but I've not seen a chicken shop that doesn't sell chicken feet.
  16. I doubt it ... that's what credit cards or personal responsibility is for ;)
  17. Yes, I forgot to mention that my boys also get chicken feet which apparently have lots of glucosomine. They get these as a treat and they love them. It's so funny to watch them each of them take a foot out into the back yard with half of it sticking out of their mouths. I feed them frozen and they much them over about a 5 minute period. It is amusing watching a whole foot disappear into the mouth of a pug only to realise it's not going to be chewed but just swallowed whole  However the other one likes to walk around with it in his mouth, like a creepy grave robber or somwthing
  18. My guys also get chicken feet. I don't feed necks as they swallow them whole, and although Max often swallows chicken feet whole without chewing (which is really gross to watch) she will sometimes crunch them for a minute or so!
  19. So That's where you need to keep a close eye on her and interrupt her when she's stealing something to correct the behavior as it's happening.
  20. I was taught to swap for stolen items too, so my pup would steal something and stand in front of the treat cupboard. in essence I'd taught her to steal something when she wanted a treat! I got her out of it by not paying attention to her when she stole something, not even attempting to get the item back and she would get bored and drop it. However, seems your pup isn't bringing items to you to swap which makes it a bit harder! Not giving her access to things to steal is a good step, and I'd be restricting her access further so she isn't left in a position to steal something. So you can catch her and correct the behaviour on the spot, catch her "in the act" so to speak.
  21. I loved my liver spotted dally because he was spotty and random! But in pugs, black.
  22. I don't think my 9 month old pup has been through fireworks before so I didn't know how he would go, but He's pretty laid back about everything. The 9pms are going off now and we are pretty close, and He's fine. He tried barking at them when they started, but He's gone back to sleep now! Max didn't even wake up when they started.
