  1. Hugs and thoughts are with you westiemum.
  2. Hugs westiemum - hopefully Mac does as Ness did for me and takes any final decision away. But in the meantime still time to continue to spoil him rotten as I know you will.
  3. Sorry can't help with ideas - but give Andy a gentle cuddle from me.
  4. I do think people are seeing/treating it as a bit of a novelty and I don't believe people should be doing that. The only reason I would take mine is if we had been out somewhere and I needed to call in on the way home and it was to hot to leave them in the car. Our nearest bunnings is a good 20 min away so it doesn't make a lot of sense to drive home and then drive back again. I certainly wouldn't be calling in just for an outing which is what it appears some are doing.
  5. Hugs westiemum and hang in there Mac boy :).
  6. Just me here - and one is a puppy. I work 7:45 - 4:30 ish. We are lucky in that we can be a little flexible in our time so long as we do set the required number of hours a week. I would wake up around 6:15am and drive dogs to an oval so they could have a run. Normally half an hour or so. The minute I got home we would again head out somewhere for a run or walk. Not easy to juggle but bareable just. Currently back looking for work and the dogs are certainly enjoying some extra training time.
  7. The cut in half t's make much better jump cups in my opinion. Those clip on ones the bar displaces way to easily and I was forever putting bars up even without the dog coming close to touching the bar.
  8. Do you think the design would work with 20mm PVC or do you really need the 25mm??
  9. Hey they look cool - do you have written instructions anywhere BC?
  10. Is she still entire/has she had a season?
  11. I agree with MRB you don't need a tight heel position for Rally. Ideally yes you should train for one but I have seen plenty of dogs who can't heel well enough for an obedience round get through a rally round with something resembling attentive loose lead walking. Not saying I would do it but if thats your aim then its possible.
  12. Ness had lost and worn quite a few teeth when she passed away but was still having her raw food - chicken frames, necks, turkey necks, lamb forequarters etc.
  13. I gather the issue with humans and refreezing is in part more for it destroying texture of meat. I wouldn't worry to much did you keep it in a fridge until you froze it again? http://food.unl.edu/...ltry-has-thawed
  14. You could see if you could get into see Primal Paws while she is over in Perth. http://www.primalpaws.com/ She is over there at the moment until the 28th.
  15. Seriously thought about the Adelaide one but would have rather had a working spot and knowing my luck I am walking a fine line with the potential of a bitch in season so I decided I couldn't take the chance especially since my back up dog is broken .
  16. Secretkei has used a place at Glenelg when she stayed with at least a Ridgeback. Small fenced yard. Let me go and see if I can find the link - http://www.stayz.com...e/glenelg/34463 Think I also had friends stay here with 2 medium breed dogs - http://www.stayz.com...aide-city/84675
  17. I occasionally go on a Wednesday night if you want to catch a lift to check it out.
  18. I presume its the football/cricket oval on the map. Best way I could describe to get there is drive up Eastern Parade until you find a point you can do a U-turn. Then you drive back down the other side of the canal and there is a carpark/oval. Its pretty easy to spot. Well presuming you are coming from Grand Junction Road which is the way I normally come and then turn left onto Eastern Parade. Its not that far off the corner but you do have to go a fair way down the road before you can get across the canal bit.
  19. Its not that hard to find MRB. You end up doing a U-turn and coming back at it. Its on Eastern Parade at Ottoway.
  20. Kenz with all her on-going lameness issues was put on meloxicam three times a week by the specialist so therefore it must have a longer effect then 24 hours. I then dropped her back to on an as needs basis.
  21. I am very familiar with government process and length of time for turning around documents  and hopefully they do take into account the detail when it comes to finalising things. I also know to well though that sometimes the high level broad statements are what is run with and adopted and the detail gets lost.Have seen many instances of this.
  22. Happy Birthday Mac. Maybe I might have to drop around with some smoked salmon to go with your blue cheese - salmon was Ness's favorite.
  23. The report actually says: "Central to the Jury's recommendation is that desexing is to occur at/or prior to the point of sale of dogs and cats". It then goes onto mention exceptions but makes it pretty clear that they are talking about point of sale for both dogs and cats and that an exception will be required if you don't wish to. I am a huge supporter of having desexed pets but my latest dog will not be desexed until she is closer to 2 years and my previous bitch was 14 months. They are a medium sized breed purchased from registered breeders who I do not intend on breeding from but prefer to wait for health reasons as they compete in performance sports. I also wonder why the RSPCA have to get involved in the registration side of things. Seems to be a double up when there are already organisations which look after and encourage responsible breeding like Dogs SA.
  24. A hugely mixed bag of recommendations - there are some that are certainly worth supporting but seriously no idea where logical prevails to suggest a push for compulsory desexing. I am all for making sure people are responsible and for educating people but if we are going to require that then surely we can then leave people to their own judgement on keeping an entire animal. There was still such a level of misinformation and logic presented in the final recommendation paper. Makes you wonder about the true value of a citizen's jury.
