  1. Skruffy you can feed an appropriate size amount. I would probably start with a one scoop and see if it helps as a loading dose. If you think you need to add more then do that :). My 17kg BC was fine on the up to 15kg dose. In contrast I have also at times had my 14kg BC on 2 scoops as a maintenance dose.
  2. My girl has bilateral medial luxating patellas and of all the supplements I have had her on I found Rose-Hip Vital Canine to have worked the best for her. She had previously been on joint guard and glyde. I think its a bit of trial and error to see what works for a particular dog.
  3. We go to the Farmers market once a month - they have a dog biscuit store .
  4. I like heading out there as I don't get death stares for playing tug with my dog . Besides which the fluffies really do want to play IPO.
  5. Yep DC the honor has completely gone from Rally. Looking forward to it as I may actually get Kenz back in the Rally ring after all.
  6. Nah I am sure you will be fine and if not there is always another day .
  7. What day are you on Dory? May come and watch if its the Saturday.
  8. LOL goodonya westiemum. Well they do all like to keep us on our toes. Can't have Mac getting all the attention. Good to read that he is adjusting to the new meds and fingers crossed he continues to improve.

    Puppy Pee Pads

I ended up using a couple of drain soaking clothes of all things underneath my fake turf. Worked heaps better then the puppy pee pads. Yes it required some washing but when I used the puppy pee pads they ended up being ripped to shreds.
  10. My answer would be does determining the status change the treatment in any way and if so how. If the treatment pathway doesn't change or you would make a decision to not go ahead with whatever the alternative treatment pathway may be then no I probably wouldn't.

    Best Puppy Pen

Pretty happy with the midwest pen that I ended up with for my BC pup. I like the fact that it has a proper gate on it which a person can get into which makes for ease of cleaning if necessary.
  12. BC Crazy I have both a mesh and a quilted for Kenz. I use the quilted one for if she is in the car or out but I keep the mesh for home as she sleeps indoors. I don't heat the house over winter but the mesh ones seems to keep her sufficiently warm. I also prefer it for sleeping indoors as it does breathe and its not as stiff. Even with Ness before she passed away I was just using a mesh for sleeping in.
  13. I won't be - pity about the venue choice there is no way I can enter without having to add accommodation in and Kenz isn't sound enough to warrant it. If it had been more central I might have put her in for a run or two but its a little to far away for that.
  14. Ness will be waiting to make him most welcome I am sure :).
  15. I am almost to scared to come in here but great to hear Mac is continuing to defeat the odds. Mac is definitely a fighter and has a caring and devoted mum .
  16. I have heaps of fancy collars and leads including lupine but still end up using the black dog ones as they are much softer on hands and good on their coats. You could try rogz as well PME.
  17. My old girl at 14 was having beach trips and walks/outings twice a day right up until the day she died. Sure she slowed down a little bit but that didn't stop us. Keeping them active helps keep them alive I think. Even if its only a drive to a local park and a bit of pottering.
  18. Wasn't that cold up there. Certainly not as cold as the last trial when we got there. It was quite warm with the sun out.
  19. Kenz passed her Track 6 today. Only just as she was one very sore girl but none the less a pass is a pass and we now have our TDX .
  20. Also makes it more expensive for city competitors. Think its stupid having to get extra novice passes. Most dogs are either more then ready for novice and in which case making them get 5 quallies is pointless or they struggle as it is. I also found it odd that the games classes remained the same and the agility and jumping classes changed.
  21. For what its worth my high prey drive dog would not play with a home alone. She is trained using a tug through Steve's TID but tug is a two way game for her. She couldn't see the point in tugging on a home alone by herself. Part of the value for using tug for training as a reward is the interaction with you. I would save tug for training and leave other toys for her to play with at home.
  22. 6 months have passed - not a day goes by when I don't miss you.
  23. My older girl is left free with a dog door and the pup (now 6 month old BC) is penned during the work day (from about 730 till 430 ish). She is walked morning and night and left with a frozen kong during the day.
  24. flame ryder - we could try for another one here. There are a few people who seem to be interested in potentially road tripping to Victoria for it. We always did say we might try and get Steve back again.
  25. You have nothing to worry about - I'll let you trial Kenz and then you have LOTS to worry about .
