Hi, no I am having a year off showing, 3 qualified and one is retired, one is in another country and the 3rd is in whelp! I had my fun last weekend showing in Iceland and titled my boy over there. I've now got a stinking cold and not sure if I am even going to watch at the show!

What a surprise, it's Crufts week AKA breeder/pedigree dog bashing week. Funny they do this in the same week they have run lots of adverts on TV pleading for funds to save the animals

And for deodorising carpets. Sprinkle that around instead of the expensive powder deodorisers before vacuuming. Ok it doesn't have a lovely floral scent, but is heaps cheaper :D It does if you store it in a tight lided container with a few drops of essential oil

Schnauzer comedone syndrome can be helped by using special shampoos and keeping the body clean, they are similar to blackheads. I've only come across it in grooming clients dogs who were from puppy farms though :thumbsup:/

Yes, until about 6 - 8 months old (whenever the puppy food bag is getting empty during that time, switch over to the adult food over the course of a week) if he drops weight, he may not have been ready to change over to adult food.

it can happen if the dog has pulled or scratch out the hair or the skin has had some sort of trauma - by the time the skin has healed and grown new coat, the original cause is often forgotten about.

Sorry Zensu, I don't understand that thinking, I love seeing the progeny of my dogs and how they turn out, wouldn't bother me if a son or daughter beat my dogs, afterall it is still family!

I think it is nice not to go overboard with what you put in a pack (re. collars, leads, bowls, bedding etc) as puppy buyers really enjoy shopping for their new pup. I give them a list of suggested items they should get before pup goes home. I include a lot of info (though have cut back a bit on that as it was taking to much printing, so some of it is now on the website, so easy to find at anytime). The most important for me, aside from all the 'have to' paperwork is the puppy insurance, the Petplan policy are good and give people time to sort out a policy of their own for the dog.

I think they are looking for a variety of websites that has A cheap price for A brand, not a website that sells all brands cheap (although we'd all like that! it just doesn;t happen) Yes, I get my shampoos from the shows as I refuse to pay huge postage costs on 5l bottles!

That would be the time of family dogs, so it would be meat from the pet shop (no idea what sort of meat it was!), green tripe, mixer biscuits, occasional dog roll chubs, pedigree, pal tinned food and for treats, bonios, and they would get to remove the last of the meat from the bone of the sunday roast - yes the cooked bone, but it was taken away when the meat was gone. They would also get the big marrow bones. Basically they got all the things we now wouldn't want to feed our dogs!

My next dog will be a puppy because she will be a giant schnauzer and with having minis in the house, I want to teach the giant to respect the minis, whereas a younger adult could just be to bouncy from the start and accidents happen to easily. This dog will be for showing and various dog sports. If it was just a pet, my next dog would be an older rescue (ie 8+ years)
