Slip Mating Consecutive Days Then Tie 1 Week Later
becks replied to Delviktar's topic in Breeders Community
I would go from the last mating, otherwise there is a chance that nothing will show up, if you have gone toearly -
I'd love to know the reasoning of letting a Giant Schnauzer breed from 12 months old, they haven't even finished growing at that age!
-
She may be more settled with them if she has a more private area, mine like to have the box covered over and there are sheets around the pen so no one can see in or out. I find my girls settle well like this and I can sleep fine in the same room.

What Would An Entire Male Be Like Around A Bitch On Heat?

glad that isn't the case in this country! -
Welsh Springer Spaniels/cocker Spaniels ?
becks replied to cowanbree's topic in General Dog Discussion
The working line spaniels have very little coat to worry about. They do have the advantage of being lighter weight then a lab, so are more easy to take out and travel around with -
Pers - whats the message sent by the stafford owner who has the dog in thick black leather harness and collar/lead set with lots of brass on? Small dog walking well at heel, so not needing so much leather work!
-
I agree, the prep work before any trimming can really make a difference to the finished dog.
-
What about getting him to watch bait or a toy being thrown infront of him? If you are clicker training, you can mark the moment he pulls forward and reward by releasing him to get the bait or chase the toy

I think goldies look stunning in woodland colours, rich dark greens and browns.

because the breed in the UK doesn't qualify for Challenge Certificates - you need to win 3 to title a dog here.

It's always sad to be sat in the waiting room and see someone come out of one of the consult rooms with just a towel or blanket - everyone knows what has just happened. When i have been in that situation (and you can feel the sympathetic eyes on you as you come out of the room) the vet and the girls behind the desk were great - quietly business like without to much sympathy to set you off into floods of tears.

http://www.pinscheraleman.com/ There isn't much in the UK at the moment in this breed..they've struggled for a long time to get it going, but breeders are getting older and getting out of them and no new breeders are coming up the ranks and being guided. This link above is in Spain where my boy Blade now lives. Two daughters out of my male are there as well. Many breeders in Sweden www.beebronx.com They are in fact schnauzer bodies (standards) without the work! Blade looks a lovely boy and has been doing well!! If he is at the World show this year, I will have a look out for him as they are the same group as my breeds. There is a very nice red over here who has done very well over the years (must be 7 years old now as he was out the same year as my younger giant). It's a shame the breed don't qualify for CCs - I think that puts off some people getting involved with a breed if they can't get a champion title.

Personally I would just accept the better bitch to visit the dog - I am not a fan of 'popular sire' syndrome.

I have just been talking to my vet and he says there is NO shortage of vaccine for rabies - plenty available. So it must be either importing the vaccine that is a problem or the vets/importers aren't buying it from the right manufactorers.

How does the show lease work?
-
That's because us breeders are all the same - only in it for the money! :D
-
I don't get the logic of that! Why have 10 dose vials which cause some or most of it to be wasted if there is a shortage of the vaccine?

It's a restricted access forum, you need to contact Troy with your registered breeder details and he can then let you answer posts here.

I have mini and giant schnauzers. I just step in when play gets to rough or over excited and the pup will get put away in a playpen to settle down. It's not about the length of time they are allowed to interact but HOW they are interacting that affects my decision on when to break things up for a bit. As you have one dog live out and one inside - why don;t you just separate them by having them in their own living spaces while you have a drink? 'safer then having one tied up and one loose if they still are trying to play with each other.

I'm in the same situation atm. My oldie will be staying with a relative as I know she will stress to much in kennels. The others are going to be split into 2 family kennels. I made a suprise visit to the kennels to see what they were like and was shown around both blocks of kennels. I can take their food (and get a little discount for doing this). I've also been told i can take their own bedding with them, so they have a smell of home to help them settle. The dogs I saw in the kennels all looked happy enough.

Awesome work ladies!

Would love to add a red one - be nice to have a schnauzer that doesn't need so much grooming but they are so uncommon here and the quality is very hit and miss.

You could probably buy a cheap coffee table and just put rubber on the top to stop him slipping. The oldies and youngsters have the sofas, crates or plastic baskets with lots of vet bed and duvets in

What Change In Diet Do You Make For Your Seniors?
becks replied to kinsella's topic in Aged Dog Care
I don't make any changes, unless there is a specific reason to do so.
