The Citizen's Jury report. http://yoursay.sa.gov.au/decisions/citizens-jury-dog-and-cat-management/about
-
So sad. Regardless, the owners are in the wrong for not making sure their dog is secure and unable to wander, attack, menace or get hit by a car. Rangers need to sort it out before it discovers livestock because that will be the end of the dog.

Totally. Best laugh of the week.

*sigh* well I don't really know what happened  One minute I'm sitting on a log at the park feeding them a Maccas cone trying to take dodgy pics on my phone one handed when all of sudden Stan leapt in the air, smashed into Maddie, got tangled in her lead and came crashing down on the log I was sitting on. Maddie had her back leg somehow caught in his lead and fell over as well and the ice cream cone was crushed in my hand, plopped onto my left boob and then plonked onto my foot which squished into my toes as I was wearing thongs. Stan of course was screaming at the top of his lungs while the park full of picnickers (public holiday, absolute madness down here) all looked at us with their sandwiches poised at open mouths thinking I was bashing him to death. I was trying to stand him up while he continued with his blood curdling screaming while Maddie bless her was trying to scramble to her feet and then once he was up I was brushing him off and checking for injuries, which of course he had none. *people still staring* I think it was a blow fly that was hanging around and he hates them with a passion :/ petrified of them. A lady walked past us as I was trying to find my sunnies that went flying and she gave me the foulest look but I thought there's no use trying to explain I think a fly scared him coz lets face it...she aint gunna believe me anyway so I just bundled them in the car and drove off. Just another day in the life of Hazy and the crazies really Oh dear stealing Maddie's limelight. Happy birthday beautiful girl!

And at least now I know what they are for  let me know if you ever need a spare.

I've had one of those (in your photo kirslin) rolling around in my grooming stuff for 20yrs. Surface rust but still straight and never used. Happy to post it.

Honestly, I thought it was an old american post and up for a bit of analysis. If it were my group and policies being pulled apart on the basis of a (sorry, frankly daggy lol) writeup I'd have an absolute shit-fit. Happy to be asked, although we're fairly known and it's all over the website anyway. But 'outing' on a forum... points to BSRA for being patient. As I said before, 1st person is effective at generating interest, it just is. It's what you do after that initial contact which is important. btw I want Leo  edit; for embarrassing spelling mistake

I love how the whippet has body issues

I wish this wasn't true but unfortunately, it's very, very accurate. Like rabbit welfare groups who believe rabbits should live entirely indoors. Human is comfy indoors, therefore bunny must be more comfortable indoors? Despite the fact they're a relatively recently domesticated animal and not at all suited to that sort of life. You wouldn't keep a sheep locked indoors around people- having humans constantly within its flight zone would be incredibly stressful- but because rabbits are smaller, despite the fact they are also herbivorous prey animals, it's somehow okay. And that, funnily enough, is actually a perfect example of anthropomorphism- assigning human wants/needs to other animals, even to the detriment of the animals concerned. "he's a rescue" :D My link Warn; Bit yuck at the end; don't watch past 1.55 if feeling fragile.

Oooh I found them! Leo is gorgeous She's with breed specific .... I'd have to assume there is experience behind the rehomings. If the description and lovely photos get some attention then they could sift through the inquiries from there.

Agree!!!! Horrid term. I haven't read the whole thing, it's lame. Too long and soppy. But writing in 1st person (as the dog) can be quite effective if a little gag-worthy and trite. Depends on your audience and I'd say the rescue has the kind of audience who responds to that or they wouldn't bother. Definitely a worry if they can't back up the fluff with some actual effective assessment techniques and rehoming strategies for this dog.

I think in this case it's the culture of the regional romani that have these activist in a tizzy. Romani = animal abuse = justified theft. I don't know a lot about the gypsy population in that area but they've long been a target of racism elsewhere. No idea what powers the local authorities use when it comes to animal cruelty but if there is a vacuum that's when people take things into their own hands.

Yes there's people and vets in Sydney who work to keep the homeless and their pets together, vetworked, fed and supported. Always there to help. If the person is capable and just needs some help they can ask for it without fear that their dog will be stolen by nutters.

Oh the irony! I wonder how much money this dog has raised for them on their facebook.

_PL_ replied to Boronia's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
We'll be selling some Joint Performance (Canine Formula) which is the best one I've ever used so I'm a bit excited about being able to stock it as a fundraiser. :) I'll pop back in tomorrow and post some details if anyone is interested in comparisons. Too sleepy to do it now My link They do show up at horsey events where you can grab a sample. -

I chopped out the grape vine too. It had those dark sweet grapes and was too attractive. :) I think you have a lot of options, but if you have a larger dog don't plant a mango because they can swallow the seeds. And stone fruit would probably be worth avoiding. You're in VIC? You've got the Digger's Club who should have interesting suggestions for you that match your climate and needs.

He has grown up very pretty :)

Tiny Dog Socks Free To Rescue
_PL_ replied to Boronia's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
They are so cute Put me second in line, I'd like someone to have a crack at getting some instead of me being grabby LOL. Having 3 in a set shouldn't put people off :) they can work well if you have an oldie who is a bit stiff in the hind legs using a slippy floor. -
Wow. She had attitude (or something wrong) but for some reason I feel bad for her in the video. That massive cop checked her hard onto the ground and she was screaming for her dogs. 4 men to handle one tiny angry frightened woman is way over the top. In context of why the street was blocked, she didn't know that at the time and probably feels like a total dick now.

In my opinion; avoid places running large packs around together. Or leaving them free-range, it's not safe.
