  1. Oooh I found them! Leo is gorgeous She's with breed specific .... I'd have to assume there is experience behind the rehomings. If the description and lovely photos get some attention then they could sift through the inquiries from there.
  2. Agree!!!! Horrid term. I haven't read the whole thing, it's lame. Too long and soppy. But writing in 1st person (as the dog) can be quite effective if a little gag-worthy and trite. Depends on your audience and I'd say the rescue has the kind of audience who responds to that or they wouldn't bother. Definitely a worry if they can't back up the fluff with some actual effective assessment techniques and rehoming strategies for this dog.
  3. I think in this case it's the culture of the regional romani that have these activist in a tizzy. Romani = animal abuse = justified theft. I don't know a lot about the gypsy population in that area but they've long been a target of racism elsewhere. No idea what powers the local authorities use when it comes to animal cruelty but if there is a vacuum that's when people take things into their own hands.
  4. Yes there's people and vets in Sydney who work to keep the homeless and their pets together, vetworked, fed and supported. Always there to help. If the person is capable and just needs some help they can ask for it without fear that their dog will be stolen by nutters.
  5. Oh the irony! I wonder how much money this dog has raised for them on their facebook.
  6. We'll be selling some Joint Performance (Canine Formula) which is the best one I've ever used so I'm a bit excited about being able to stock it as a fundraiser. :) I'll pop back in tomorrow and post some details if anyone is interested in comparisons. Too sleepy to do it now My link They do show up at horsey events where you can grab a sample.
  7. I remember now! The name is so familiar. :mad http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/257529-breeder-cleared-of-puppy-farm-allegations/page__p__6493525__hl__dykstra__fromsearch__1#entry6493525
  8. I messaged the ladies and got this answer... Tiny dog socks would be absolutely fantastic :D Soooo they will be whizzing their way to them on Monday. Thanks for letting me know they may want them Fantastic. Cosy toesies. :D :D
  9. I am an idiot!!!! The ladies at the Animal Rescues Appeal https://www.facebook.com/AnimalRescuesAppeal/timeline and if they don't need them you have my address hehe xxxx
  10. I chopped out the grape vine too. It had those dark sweet grapes and was too attractive. :) I think you have a lot of options, but if you have a larger dog don't plant a mango because they can swallow the seeds. And stone fruit would probably be worth avoiding. You're in VIC? You've got the Digger's Club who should have interesting suggestions for you that match your climate and needs.
  11. He has grown up very pretty :)
  12. They are so cute Put me second in line, I'd like someone to have a crack at getting some instead of me being grabby LOL. Having 3 in a set shouldn't put people off :) they can work well if you have an oldie who is a bit stiff in the hind legs using a slippy floor.
  13. Wow. She had attitude (or something wrong) but for some reason I feel bad for her in the video. That massive cop checked her hard onto the ground and she was screaming for her dogs. 4 men to handle one tiny angry frightened woman is way over the top. In context of why the street was blocked, she didn't know that at the time and probably feels like a total dick now.
  14. In my opinion; avoid places running large packs around together. Or leaving them free-range, it's not safe.
  15. yes knuckling over and usually very easily fixed, can appear overnight Fangks Rebanne :) I've known knuckling over to come and go with diet etc and never considered it was something that (no offence to the OP) was too sinister or a sign of bad breeding. That's only limited knowledge of course. A proper deformity would be different but there is no mention of a definitive diagnosis.
  16. Can someone explain the condition for me? I googled images and it just looks like knuckling over. Can't that be helped with diet and splints?
  17. Here's one! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3040716/Shopped-social-services-m-not-perfect-mum-Shona-Sibary-malicious-phone-call-seen-little-girl-taken-care.html
  18. Nup, she's got form, have a google. There is something really wrong with her.
  19. Seriously she needs a slap. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3213491/I-rid-dogs-soon-stop-cute-puppies-woman-s-given-away-FOUR-dogs-four-years-brazen-confession-ll-enrage-pet-lovers.html She wrote this herself. It's long and frankly; way too weird.
  20. I wish that firstly they'd clear up the confusion between independent stray un-tame cat and multi generational feral monster because people aren't quite getting it. If you tamed a cat it wasn't a feral. And no way should anyone be suggesting TNR back into a vulnerable environment .... a unique ecosystem which appears to also require some explanation. On any given piece of land, you can have a cat population, or thriving natives. Not both. The Tasman Island Project is a great read. Oh. and Dear Morrissey, I'll take you more seriously if you rescue one of our newly endangered muscular, scarred up, feral tomcats and 'tame' it with love and a can of whiskas. :)
  21. OK yes. I was just talking to a carer yesterday about seeing pups available that don't look right and really should not be up for adoption yet. Skinny pups with strange heads and bandy legs. No muscle. But pups move fast so are put out there ready or not, and people will adopt them because they look sad.
  22. Yes :) Flame suit on but I think 'runts' are cute. I'm not talking about the wobbly, glassy eyed pups who are clearly very wrong in some way. Those sad gumtree ads with clearly hydrocephalus baby chi's being sold as teacup. There's smallest and then there is just plain wrong. I do mean the spunky little bantam ratbags who power on with their larger siblings and are on their way to being a great dog. There's something about them, their little chin up when they run with the litter, the way they fit into tiny spots then pounce out of nowhere... It's probably different with purebred breeders, in rescue you can get a couple of different crosses from one mum so you can't just assume the the tiny ones are unwell.
  23. SD.....Pressure spray! You just reminded me :) I loved having a pressure spray. I'm on ebay now looking for an Aussie seller, I need to replace the Hoselink (spelling?) one that completely snapped off. Anyone have suggestions? I tested Mum's karcher and while they are very good, they are also too bulky and a pain in the behind. Just needing a pressure nozzle that attaches to a normal hose. Don't worry, just bought one, it looks ok so we'll see. :) BTW on-topic lol, I use 'Kennel Clean' bubblegum. And a bit of nilodor for extra spots that are a must-pee place. Like the BBQ wheels.
