Oh no Yeah I remember the thread Jules, I think dogs in front yards that rush fences can be (scary as hell and) an accident waiting to happen.

Was it the owners child who was attacked, or someone walking past?

A Good Breed For Someone With Anxiety?
Animal House replied to kiwifeathers's topic in General Dog Discussion
Rhodesian ridgeback would be my recommendation -
Oh, I do like number two, well done! It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, if you like them, that is all that matters. Bit the same as art, what one person likes, another won't. Perception, diversity, it's all good. I've been told a few pics I've taken have been great, where as I can't see it and think they are okay, but a few other pics I think are bloody fantastic, well I'm probably the only one

And that photo is well worth the hundred!! Picasa is very easy to use, I'm sure they have a version for Mac, or maybe someone else who has a mac can recommend a friendly photo editor. :D or have a squizz here: LINKY

Depression does strange things to your confidence, to be honest, most people are too busy with their own things to notice other people, and I like to hide behind the camera, often it's just a change of mindset that can work for you (in thinking "I'm behind the camera, invisible" kind of thing). I can take 50 plus photos to get one I'm half happy with, I'm still learning and quite often it's a fluke  But Picasa (free editing software) is easy and can make any photo look loads better....not many people take a photo and then that's it, they are mostly heavily edited/enhanced. Just to show an example (photo was a bit blurry, but you get the idea) became just cropped and edited/enhanced with Picasa

haha be careful what you wish for! I just came home and switched on my lounge room light and saw that my little friend that hangs out on the glass above my front door was out tonight. I usually watch his belly from inside the house but tonight I thought I would go out on the verandah and try to 'capture' the beastie...... and this is where I start all the self doubt and bow out before I bore everyone to sleep. I love Geckos. You're gonna have loads of fun with your camera, you live in a very photogenic part of SA, lucky you! I think the river and sunsets/different light conditions will offer up so many different and beautiful scenes to practice on, take hundreds of photos, try different times of day, different positions (get down on the ground and take pics from there too)...it's such fun trying out all these things, then editing the pics is another job to learn and have fun with.

Which Puppy Breed Should I Get?
Animal House replied to eddie123789's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hankodie, a cat would be fine with that arrangement, though keeping them confined to the yard is a tough one, unless you build a cat run coming off the garage as well. One of my cats is quite aloof, she doesnt like company too much, very happy to just sleep in the sunshine (in the enclosure) eat, sleep, poop, eat, shed hair, poop, sleep, occasionally accepts a pat on the head. -

The silver jewellery is lovely, as are the handmade urns on there.

So sorry for your loss, such a beautiful dog and a lovely tribute.

I'm really sorry to hear about Grover, life can be so unfair. Run free boy for you PFL
-
Stupid, ignorant owner, why chain any pet dog, especially a chihuahua cross outside of a night? If it's any consolation, the dog would have died pretty quickly, pythons constrict their prey before eating them.

Aww, what a great photo! Bet you will be like a kid on Christmas Eve tomorrow.

Poor dog, what a sicko

I'm so sorry to hear about Rockling Kirty, he was such a gorgeous boofer, and he put up a good fight. Run free

Good news for Panto

Yep, they were very early imports, Martinette was a beautiful boy, very quiet, perfect manners, just a real gentleman.....and Hortelano (Horrie the Horrible as we called him ) would take a piece out of you if he felt like it, and try and kick you on the way out of the stable as well lol)...Malcolm was based out at Narre Warren in the 70's.
-
So a nice long wait while they bake, excellent. I worked with Hortelano (Malcolm Barnes) and Martinette (owned by Alice Stainton) at ORS back in the mid 70's. Loooong time ago when I was a youngster, but beautiful horses.

Yeah, it's hard, but it's really not your problem, you were sold something that didn't match the description, you wouldn't have bought one advertised as "fear aggressive, biting, attacking dog occasionally loves cuddles" would you? I wouldn't ever, ever, ever take on a troubled dog, because dogs are meant to be kind of nice to own and good company, enjoyable, not a ticking time bomb.

OMG, he is absolutely stunning! No wonder you are anxious to meet this baby, Mum and Dad are divine! Altair has some lovely movement in that vid, now I'm going to be waiting patiently for pics of this bub when he/she arrives

Love Andalusians, from when I worked with them many years ago, your first mare at the top of the page is stunning. Who is she in foal to? *stealing ALL of your horses*
-
I'd send him back and get a refund, was he advertised as being aggressive?
