  1. Another one of our furry friends taken too soon. Run free Zephyr. for Cassie
  2. You just can't help some people unfortunately, because they refuse to listen. And it's the animals that will suffer.
  3. I've read the whole painful thread thanks, and despite several highly experienced dog breedrs and a well respected trainer giving you the same opinion , you still won't take on board to shut the cat away when you feed your dog, it ain't rocket science, it's a simple solution.Bit like if you don't want to burn your hand, don't stick it in the bloody fire. Easy.
  4. Wow, I can see this ending badly due to an owners unrealistic expectations and stubbornness.
  5. So sorry for your loss Sandra, run free Dallas.
  6. Love the tiny pony zoomies, he sure does look like he has the devil in him.
  7. To be honest, I'd take him back to the pound, otherwise you'll need a behaviourist to come and observe him at home and that's big dollars, time and no guarantee. I'd look for a dog through a rescue group, they have been with foster carers, they know the dog very well and can match one to suit yoir family.
  8. Ah no GB, it's so hard to lose one, let alone two furkids. Run free Molly and Bob.
  9. I'd be phoning the vet and asking their advice, it isn't harmless at all.
  10. Where does it say Roundup is harmless to dogs? Was it already made up?
  11. It is illegal to kill snakes unless they are a direct threat anyway. You are living on their land, people are building everywhere, pushing them out of their natural habitat.
  12. Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about Brianna, run free beautiful girl.
  13. So sorry to hear about Hamlet, I always like to hear about him. Run free boy
  14. And that right there could be a very dangerous combination.....I don't think he should be in charge of a dangerous dog, ihis situation is now a ticking time bomb.
  15. A wonderful update, small baby steps, but forwards.
  16. We've had a chat about a few things and we're going to start with a proper crate but I'll do it under supervision. I want to see how supposedly unfixable this dog is before throwing more things at her :)
  17. Oh, so she got separation anxiety because one of the girls went out? It's not looking like there are many options left, and you definitely haven't failed her, I think she was probably like this (or very prone to SA) from the get go but your ex was always home so it wouldn't have showed.
  18. I'm sorry its come to this, she must be so stressed to constantly escape, you have to have a good, long think about the quality of her life now I guess, and what your next step will be. It isn't easy, is it.
  19. Life and death situation, I'd leave them, sorry, but I value my life over that of my animals. If I had the time, then they would all come with me, we'd stay in the car if need be.....not that I live in a bushfire area/flood area.
  20. Sorry, that reply was to Sheridan, not to you. As I said before, good luck, I sincerely hope the change of medication or one of the other suggestions works for you, I apologise for being so forthright, it was bad judgement on my behalf to post what I was thinking, and yes, it wasn't any help.
  21. So a different opinion is now rudeness? Whatever, good luck with your dog Jellyblush.
  22. I guess I'm lucky as my dog has improved and is leading a happy and full life. She is on Meds and it took 6 years of solid work and training and behaviour modification etc... It has been incredibly hard. She is now happy to stay in her room when we are out- she isn't destructive anymore if she is in her "safe room". She has a comfy bed, toys, kongs etc... She will even go in there by choice when we are home. She still has some issues but things have changed considerably for the better in the last 6 years. If it had remained at the worst level I would have PTS as her quality of life is the most important thing to me. She isn't nealy as anxious and she loves her walks and visitors the most. My other dogs calm nature also helped her calm down and her adjusting to being in a secure pack. In saying all this I wouldn't do it again, I couldn't do it again emotionally or physically. I have learnt so much in the last 6 years, it has equipped me with some valuable tools. Awful situation for OP to be in. I really hope the OP can come to a decision that will give her and Roo some peace. I'm pleased your dog has improved, it would be hard on everybody to go through that.
  23. Edited. Good luck with the change of meds or herbs.
