  1. Hey i found this link https://secure.vlsstore.com/Media/Publicati...V_26_11_886.pdf good grief n look at the list of breeds its been found in? people too
  2. CW its actually against CC rules to show a dog with an illness. The dog really shouldn't have been on the grounds. sorry missed noticing, the owner is a worry
  3. in all this the talk is about the dog "biting" the judge. ok i dont show. well havent for decades but i thought you cannot show a sick dog? is that not just as much an issue if not more so? biting, mouthing call it what u like its not contagous the runs certainly can be, its still one of the symptons of parvo and corona? and look at the heartbreak that introduced to grounds has caused. was watching a episide of james herriot and in it he disqualified a dog with what? the runs.. it couldnt be exhibited in those days surely its the same now isnt it? if it isnt it SURELY SHOULD BE.
  4. yes your boy is defiately a chocolate and tan. i had a red kelpie and there is no comparison between red and chocolate. if you put red, the majority of people who assesed him if he ended up in a pound or rescue, would tell you.. no reds here.
  5. And they leave the show fancy wide open to claims of animal abuse - which IMO some of their behaviour IS. worse than that too. how many remember all the dogs that died after being shown at a particular venue? think it was about 4 years ago now? not sure have to admit. Nancy gate turned to me and said "this is the last show i will ever go too. your husbands right. Look at that?" i looked where she pointed and there in a pen were three.. or was it four. anyway Pug puppies spewwing bloody diroeea into the grass. Nancy said 'they have parvo, i would bet on it" That show was i think in early october. the next show was the beginning of a number of breeders dogs comming down with parvo after the subsequent shows. I do know one family ws blamed for taking a sick dog but it wasnt the family with the pugs named, i know that for sure. i believe it continued till i was told anyway the grounds were disinfected. although how you disinfect soil i do not have a clue. I wont name names but a number of people i know lost dogs and puppies after subesequent shows. so sad and so unnecessary. my hubby is a fanatic and believes taking your dog to a show is simply taking it to pick up and bring home every pathogen available floating round the grounds back to those at home. soo i am banned from showing for some odd reason.
  6. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/bow...ndbowwowsig.jpg i apologise for this being off topic, but cant help asking. what colour do you call your chihuahua? then what would you call it if instead its all red instead of the cream, and yes with a paler red face like yours n still with the black ticking were it is? never seen this colour n the cream face before the red version turned up. n i have to put a colour to register it??? gee what a nightmare of worry for Chase's owners. I'm not veryup with pnemonia. does this mean his chances are much better than the before thoughts.... its whats im thinking and hoping anyway.... such stressful time for all
  7. how many dogs have you seen exhititing any of the signs in your years with the breed? has it been as low as i have seen or am i just fortunate.
  8. had a very intresting conversation with a budgie breeder yesterday. n im talking a guy whos stock was soo good showwise there would be a que for even his seconds he is so against showing now because as he said they cant leave the standard alone. always tweaking a word here, an interpretation there, and its the birds that pay. interesting eh? was explaining the english bred them so big they were almost twice the size of the aussie bird. so the aussies imported some of the big uns and bred up the size of the birds here. problem was apparently there was a disaster hiding in the genes that increased the size and when it came to light there wasnt an unaffected bird to be found. so nest fulls of dying was the result. sounds a bit familar doesnt it as he said the show scene is flawed . the vision is more important than the genetics contained, n thats without the "added confusion caused by face judging " LOL so its not just in the dog scene eh?
  9. I believe that there will be more information available shortly once the full Veterinary Paper is Published. At the moment it is so important to be having Cavalier Breeding Stock MRI Scanned . When the Genes for SM are discovered , then the Carriers will also be found, and hope-fully the Horrible SM Disease will be on the way out and the suffering of our Cavaliers helped Bet Hargreaves frankly i think its a load of bull#*+# my first bitch had 7 in her first litter and 8 in her second. they are 12 and 11 now n not a sm in the lot thats 15 pups if you cant add. n they would have shown by now. counting my own and those belonging to friends probably think ive known nearly 100 cavs over the past decades n never seen it in save one who certantly began to show the symptoms at age 6. n luckily desexed n never bred from, it came from a kennel thats ho so ethical n never sells any on main register so anyone who has one descended from their progeny would have not had their LR pup desexed as per contact anyway. as well seen many others same kennel same breeding and no sign of it as they aged n many have made it to 13 n 16 years old. so i find it hard to believe the figures stated at all. should i add, that affected dog came from a litter of 8 and never heard of any siblings developing any problems?
  10. hey remember that lady in melbourne i think it was arrested for selling puppies via the net n never delivering? i received an email that my puppies photos were on the net for sale. lifted from my website. nn it was her. glad she got napped. at least that was an aussie n caught.
  11. there was a add for a friesen gelding, pretty much the same wording, out of curiosity i emailed em as all and sundry of my friends were fascinated by the add, the replies were hilarious, yep the horse was free to good home all u had to do was pay for its delivery, 1,800 aust, for delivery from england to australia like what the? forwarded the emails to a puter literate and he said the sender was in New Caledonia. soo i sent another email n asked hows the weather in N C n oddly never heard from em again
  12. dont blame yourself, for goodness sake. over the years well decades ive had dogs, i have had two do exactly that, both guts. both would grab and literaly breathe their food down. never forget the day was giving chicken necks and dropped the bag and shanti sucked down the lot? didnt chew, nuffing, just suck n they were all gone. somehow she didnt choke but a chihuhua puppy tried the same thing with her puppy porrige and no way i could save her, she was gone befoe i even made it to the car. some of em are just accidents looking for a good spot. wouldnt wish it on anyone. best of luck, he is such a adorable boy. if prayers will help theres a ton of them heading your way. you should see what a horse is capable of. goodness. checked little blaze yesterday and she looks like she fell into a chaff cutter. she has hair off every leg in sort of stripes including across her sides? pretty swollen legs but fortunately nothing broken or deep. but considering the paddock is as flat as a bowling green. like what the? n how on earth? n she aint saying. never forget my brothers filly. same scenario except her leg was snapped like a carrot. accidents happen no matter how safe an area u thing is or how careful you are. gee i was looking after my brothers kids for 2 weeks once. they were playing on the front lawn. he was comming down the drive to pick them up and suddenly crying. yep she stumbled n broke her arm? couldnt even hand over an undamaged child?
  13. my vet has always told me i should have my street shoes and my home shoes. the street shoes dont go inside the house or yard as you can carry disease on the soles and infect your puppy.
  14. Need support to get voice out there, wish we could name these bad vets, 2 Vets gave no information on tablets given which turned out to be 'not for use in animals' by the TGA. Large doses given which severlely dehydrated her. found out through their report they overhydrated her also, no mention of front leg swollen 3 times the size. The cruel suffering witnessed after being allowed to take her home when she was supposed to be monitored very closely on these god so forgiven "tablets". The list is endless. Oh please please anyone that can help, these vets really do need to be"held accountable" Have lost a child.!! As the risk of sounding harsh, unless you want to risk losing your house and any savings you have as well, I would strongly counsel AGAINST making a claim for damages. The court will value your dog at pretty much what you paid for her. Your pain and suffering won't amount to much in dollar terms. If you lose the action, you may have to pay the vets court costs and they could be substantial. They have insurance for this kind of claim. You don't. The Courts are not the place I would recommend you to find closure for this. I'd be starting with the AVA or your State's board for veterinary registration. Nothing you do will bring your dog back. A report to the the right authority might stop it happening to someone else. yes i was somewhat thinking the same thing. i was also warned unless there was a solicitor willing to do the work what they called "pro bono" "in the public interest" would stand to lose everything i had n then some as your looking at hundreds of thousands. look at the just short of 300,000 in legal fees the rscpa solicitors intend taking from ruth downey.
  15. Yes we got reply back yesterday from vet board, so far only vets response which there is a large number of lies in. We can however prove quite a lot for the wrongful death of our beautiful girl. Its been 5mths now & still finding it very difficult to let go of all the suffering witnessed. Only found 1 Solicitor who will has successfully sued a human doctor. he will take case on. Does anyone know of any solicitors that will take on Vets? goodness you have had more success than i have. ive spent 3 years reporting two doctors for my mums misdignonis and 12 weeks of agnony with a broken hip. by the time she was finally sent to a hospital she had gangrene and beyond saving. n all i get for three years of fighting for justice for her suffering is a letter of the heath commission that both doctors were found have have failed in their duty of care and will receive retraining and COUNCELLING FOR THEIR DISTRESS n im forking out 175 a session trying to cope with my failure to protect her from the system best of luck for you. no tv was interested in taking it up or any idea how to sue them so they would need some real counseling for distress which i think they so richly deserve. as for vets.. gee one of my girls hemoraged overnight after being desexed and all i got from the self declared "Health Care Professional" who had roundly told me how dare i try to self diagnose my bitch when i brought her in and said i thought she had pymetra and wanted her desexed. n then made the exact same diagnosis. yes he did desex her. pity he didnt tie or seal the arteries properly though. i found her bled to death a week after the op. no mention of refund for killing her . didnt know u could? best of luck i really wish you well. ummm any chance that solicitor might be intereested in doing something for my mum? my doctor had told me i have to drop it as the stress will kill me.. but cant stop wondering how many others go unprotected while those two are still doctors
  16. when i was a kid we had a border collie would clear 7 foot fence without even touching it. round up the kids on the way to catch the school bus n then when the driver told him to go home, jump the fence back in n we none the wiser, till we saw him do it ourselves
  17. why on earth do u assume only faulty pups are born of parents belonging to unethical breeders? ethical breeders do not have a magic radar that zero's in and prevents them purchasing any but the perfect genetic makup? it aint possible. there are thousands of deletrious genes yet to be dna markered. bad luck can happen to EVERYONE. n anyone YEP GIVE UP. YES. have it your way IF A FAULTY PUP IS BORN IT can only mean the breeder be struck from the responsible ethical ranks... would fix the problem faster. simply stike off every breeder who a defective pup came from. that would even eliminate the puppy farmers. remember the shitzu x maltese with luxating patella, heart murmer and think it was 3 hernia's, robert zammit showed on tv once. the world is not black and white bad things do happen to good people. bad things happening to them does not prove they are bad people, sometimes i find myself wondering if the mentality of the dark ages and burning, drowning and elimination of witches is just the same just new names believe it or not bad people ARE in the minority although to read this forum most could be excused for not realising that Wow. I think you need to calm down a bit. No one said that having one 'faulty' pup makes someone a bad person or a byb. I'm pretty sure the OP was just trying to make the point that not everyone with a prefix is a good breeder, which is a perfectly valid point. Sure, a good breeder can occasionally produce a 'bad' puppy. But a good breeder would do something about it, like refund a pup that has a health problem. There are plenty of breeders who consistently produce bad quality pups and don't care as long as they have the money in their pocket. That is what this thread is about. until it happens to you, you dont realise how the culture has changed. scenario, take litter to vet. they are all checked nose to tail. all declared spot on. hearts fine, patellas fine undercarriage fine all bits in place. remember you are relying on your vet are u not? the ones being placed go to their new homes. they get their second vaccinations. you are out with friends and one is the vet nurse where one of the pups just had its second vaccination. soo in front of all present you are challeged, "how dare you sell that pup as health checked, have you any idea how devestated its owners are to find you sold them a pup with a heart murmur? how can you live with you concseince?" soo. at this stage i had not heard from the pups owners so went to see them immediately. to learn that yes the vet did think he could hear something but so low grade not to worry. so they had not called me. but the point is, i relied on my vet, get bagged out in public for a crime i did not commit to my knowledge or belief. the people listening en mass were totaly disgusted with me as this lady painted me. none of these people were present when i learned the real story or that the second vet considers the same pup to now be fine. so i have seen how fast you are a unhung convict. and the culture many vets and their assistants are fostering. then theres the scenario of the missing bits, pup goes interstate for show n breeding. vet checked before leaving all bits in place and intact. puppy arrives with new owner. then too vet checked and alls well next vaccination again all bits in place. 6 months later am contacted, one teste has gone. you sold me a dud. hullo? it had two, it had two right up and until its 3 rd vaccination so what went wrong? but hey u bred it so you knowingly sent one thats going to do a dissappearing act? i know of one incident where the breedr actually had their vet open up the pup and find the missing teste must have been crushed since all the vet could find was the cord with a little bit of scar tissue at the tip. so it does happen and ive since learned sometimes as the pup grows if the cords or was it the ligaments? dont grow too they pull the teste up as the pup outgrows the length of the ligament. n that often its a mineral imbalance n tablet of it can fix it done soon enough. forget which, calcium n zinc? is it?
  18. I was just making the point that having papers isn't all it's cracked up to be but for the sake of BSL it'll save your dog, as it is used to pass judgement on a dogs breed, ie if it has papers it's an amstaff but if it doesn't it's a pitbull, go figure..?! yep, n it doesnt help when u see some advertising their male is dual registered in the good ole US of A
  19. why on earth do u assume only faulty pups are born of parents belonging to unethical breeders? ethical breeders do not have a magic radar that zero's in and prevents them purchasing any but the perfect genetic makup? it aint possible. there are thousands of deletrious genes yet to be dna markered. bad luck can happen to EVERYONE. n anyone YEP GIVE UP. 20. I used to think all registered breeders were doing the right thing. Wasn't until I started doing research to buy my first pedigree dog that I discovered how many of them are just BYBers and puppy farmers with prefixes. dont worry the way things are going, there wont be any registered breeders once the pollies and the high grounders have eliminated em all even the high grounders. if i hear responsible, ethical once more I think ill puke dont forget that letter gone out from the dogs nsw board is because some pesponsible, ethical's have decided to rip the thoat out of a member of the board who has worked tirelessly for decades for the breed and breeders. but hey some think their ground is higher so set out to destroy a man who has done more for the members than the killers have probably done. but who cares they carry the responsible ethical banners... just ask em please give it a rest for goodness sake. judy guard thought she was responsible and ethical. where has it got her. ruth downey knew she was responsible and ethical. look where its got her. lost and or losing everything she owns. n the list goes on whos next? n whoever it is the pack will stand back and watch em torn to pieces snug in the assumption it wouldnt happen to em if they didnt deserve it. then when its their turn n discover and ask why is this happening to me.... they will then be the ones watching the faces that show no mercy to them. remeber that when its your turn ruth and judy are still asking the same thing.
  21. well in the case of my mums dog she was desexing her so she had the entire uterus to examine and looked me in the face and said there was no way she could tell if the dog had never been mated??????? the dog was 6 as mum had taken ages to decide to get her done, it was only because she and her playmate began ummm practicing on each other, both girls incidently, mum decided it was embarrassing. so got them done. tried to explain to mum this is a dominance posturing, so dont go thinking its going to stop once desexed. ( although health wise was for the best as pymetra could have been on the horizon for both of em otherwise) lol boy was she put out soon as the stitches were out they were back at it
  22. There is also this article about changes to the Dog Act to make nuisance dog complaints easier for rangers to manage. Link It says that the current provisions make it difficult for rangers because they have to: a) gather evidence from reliable witnesses b) establish proof of the dog being a nuisance to convince a court beyond reasonable doubt So it sounds like the WALGA is pushing for these provisions to be changed. Maybe I'm naive, but they sound fair to me and should protect dogs and their owners from malicious complaints. Just wondering what others think of this? wonder if things have improved in the northern territory? http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2008/07/30/4868_ntnews.html http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2009/11/1...181_ntnews.html http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2009/09/2...791_ntnews.html
  23. I had a vet tell me that there is no way to tell if a dog has never been bred from. which i found strange to say the least. considering i remember reading in the news once that a lady had been found murdered and one of the comments made was that she had had children so that ruled out missing women and girls who had not. soo? if thats applicalbe for a human why not a dog? at the time had been accused of breeding from a bitch my mum had as a pet which hadnt been desexed.. so had asked the vet for a certificate stated she had never been bred from, n since the vet was desexing her at the time did think it was a reasonable request. she flatly refused saying there is no way a vet can tell. so how can a doctor say so about a woman??
  24. what i smell is a rat of gaigantic proportions, that talk about "doing" something and what is that "something" a "carbon trading sceme" talk for another form of share trading. where has the share market got us? boom and bust in paper trails. as a friends son who now works in this "industry" he is astounded how much it is manipulated to make money by those with with power to do so, they even make money when they are "crashing" it im told. this joke called "carbon Trading" is exactly the same boom and bust for the BIG END OF TOWN. and who is the loosers...... u n everyone else. it has and will have absolutely no impact on climate change save the money market climate
  25. good grief why hasnt there been a thread on this press release... http://www.sosnews.org/newsfront/?p=574#more-574
