  1. River Safari. Loved the Spider Monkey exhibit. You actually enter the exhibit an they are ranging all around you. They are SO fast!! Crab Eating Macaques - they are incredible to watch swim. "No photos please" I had no idea Otters could be so big - these are over 1m long. Lots more pics here https://www.flickr.com/photos/8799389@N04/
  2. Jurong Bird Park. I loved the free flying birds of prey show with 4 Brahminy Kites being flown simultaneously. And not just a short token flight - they were out for ages and mostly doing their own thing. Toucan!
  3. Singapore Zoo - I love the generous size exhibits they have. Especially the Orangutans. These guys are natives and not zoo exhibits. The Zoo sits on a reservoir and they come and go from there. They are related to Komodo Dragons but not as big. Not a brilliant photo but we gave it a wide berth when we saw it on the path. Some idiots were going right up close for photos. 1 even pushed her baby in a pram right next to it, left it there and stepped back to take a photo with her phone. Another wild native animal So many Babboons! Over 80 in the community. Free ranging Orangs
  4. This time a month ago I would have just been arriving home from 2 weeks in Singapore. Had a great time and took loads of photos. Not as many nice "scenic" photos as I would have liked. There were big fires in Indonesia and the smoke blows across Singapore causing terrible pollution. These are some of my favourites. Around Singapore marina area I love the old vs new in this 1. Gardens by the Bay and the Super Trees It made me think of Avatar when we walked through the giant trees at night This puts the size of the trees into perspective. Check out the Cherry Picker Singapore Orchid Inside the Flower Dome
  5. I have another friend in a different council area that had to get the neighbours 2 houses either side to sign something and even though 1 complained she still got the permit. I guess they figure if it is only 1 person and everyone else says it is fine that it could just be a difficult or dog hating person.
  6. Every council area is different. When I got mine they didn't even ask neighbours but came and did a property inspection and checked up on the history of dogs that I had registered with them previously and if there had been any complaints.
  7. My advice is to check all over if they have been anywhere with grass seeds. I have always been religious about checking feet at this time of year and a quick general feel over that over the years has become more thorough as i have found yet another hiding spot for them. The 1s my dogs have had break skin/abscess have all been in odd places. I have had issues with them in the underarm and with the friction from skin moving while they walk they had broken the skin very quickly. My first male BC had long coat and they must have got in that and worked their way up - he had 1 go in his belly button. My other make had 1 in his thigh - most likely sat on it and had it get stuck in his pants. When I found it on a Saturday night I could just grab the end but not enough to be able to get it out. By Monday morning it had travelled several inches. He also had 1 removed from his abdomen that was totally encapsulated the vet was expecting a tumour when he removed it and then on cutting into the lump found an old grass seed. We have no idea where it entered or when. And with girls check their vulvas - Cinna kept licking last year and had 1 there irritating her.
  8. Have to LOL at this. We used to have a feral pond with a fountain in a fenced off area of the yard at our previous house. Without fail my old boys would go there for a drink when they were allowed in to that area. In terms of drinking options it was incredibly high value to them.
  9. Ah goodo! As far as I am aware, (at least according to their website) Kyjen don't make those any more - just the 6 and 3 squeaker models now! So stock up if you can find somewhere that still has the 12 squeakers in stock :) Well the link I shared says 1.6m long but then in the description it says 2 or 6 squeaker so not sure. A shame they got rid of the super long 1 - it is awesome for multiple dogs. It does get very loud though, lol I do love the look of the frog though...
  10. Rory agrees ... some enabler on DOL introduced me to them .. Rory has a 6 squeaker python ... more roll eyes from Kirra. Yes they are great! Very durable for a plush toy! Kyjen make great stuff Piper we have them listed for $26.95 http://www.k9pro.com...nvincibles.html Oh no don't tell me that!!! Could do with a replacement for when the sections of the snake finally die.... And Tassie, no, no one on DOL would enable, never! LOL ETA: Just had a look Huski - they are the 6 squeaker 1. Mine is the ginormous 10 or 12 squeaker 1 - over 1.5m long (or was when it was in 1 piece)
  11. Love the Kyjen snake - especially the ginormous 1 :) This is a good price for it http://www.luckypet.com.au/invincibles-ginormous-snake.html?gclid=CjwKEAjwheqgBRD5vOfR45az5AESJABy4m8-kFzHp1yV5Do0kEZONmPsr9qWMsX2LUVFiCszV17R_xoCkYfw_wcB They squeak even if punctured. The girls love playing tug with it and over time it has become 3 shorter headless snakes but it has lasted probably a year or close to it now. We also got this 1 from clean run that has mostly stood up to play - it is earless these days from tug games. http://www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=2800&ParentCat=504
  12. My guys are non destructive but I did wonder about durability. Figured I would do a small pledge though and hopefully find out. I like the idea of using scent as an alternative to food dispensing toys. Especially where there are multiple dogs or as an additional bit of stimulation for dogs left alone for long hours.
  13. I have nothing to gain by this and am not involved with them at all, it came up on my Facebook newsfeed today and I thought it looked like a really cool idea. "Schnuzzle is the world's first interactive dog toy system that holds an innovative, changeable scent reward. Schnuzzle toys and Scent Disc engage directly with your dog's highly developed sense of smell, fascinating and entertaining them for extended play sessions. " It is even designed here in Australia. You can choose to pledge towards the manufacture of it and depending on how much you pledge you get 1 if they go into production. If they don't, it is no loss as you are not actually charged until they have enough supporters. Earlier this year there was another similar idea called the Foobler that went on there for a timed release treat ball. A couple of friends supported that 1. http://cynjo.com/products/foobler
  14. How about these: http://www.valleycountry.com.au/catalogue/dog_pet/for_the_dog/dog_boots/r_m_williams_dog_boots
  15. There was a Blue Tic Coonhound in SA probably 15 years ago now. Not sure what happened with him.
  16. Yes I am. She has done amazingly well given the lack of training opportunities that we get. And will now have to wait until next year as we will be away for the last trial of the year. Onwards to our herding champ next year... Might even let her do some more agility as I will be trialling Cinna as well.
  17. I always post in these and set goals and then get slack and never achieve them so this year I didn't set any goals. And in 4 trials Jazz has gained 5 titles, lol. Cinna is about ready to start agility trialling - she had some runs on the judges exam day and made some baby dog mistakes and showed me what we need to work on so hopefully she will get at least a run in JD before the end of the year.
  18. I totally agree huski. No point in rushing them at all IMO. You have years ahead of you so there is no need to rush and push them so hard.
  19. The 1 I am thinking of was a BC. My guess for the minimum age would be to try and stop people pushing pups so hard and aiming to have the youngest ever to get xyz.... Remember CDX has jumps and they used to be 1.5 times the height at shoulder - that is an awful lot to be training a 6 month old puppy to jump.
  20. This page has info on lure coursing in SA https://www.facebook.com/groups/294441020692066/?fref=ts
  21. 6 months and yes it passed. 6 months is the minimum age to compete. Oh and the 1 am thinking of did it in the "old" days - Cd was the lowest class and you had to get through 2 sets of heel work.
  22. Will there be a bigger bag released? With 3 dogs, a 3kg bag is too small and doesn't go far at all.
  23. Can't help with info but i have to say it was the topic heading that made me go "huh what?" and have to look and see. LOL
  24. Vetwrap is a very handy first aid kit item too. I have never actually used the rapigel on the dogs. Lady at Petstock thought I was crazy when she asked what I used it for.so then I fudged and said it is good on the dogs after agility. Lol.
