  1. Probably best to drop down to DogsSA when there is a show on and have a wonder around and chat to people around Group 1. There are some lovely junior handles out there who love to have the opportunity to handle different dogs and could possibly be happy to handle for you.
  2. They are beautiful babies and more sensible than some of mine were. I had a couple babies wobbling around on their feet before eyes opened. It was kid of funny to watch but I thought it was a strange order of development as surely it is easier to wait until you can see before trying to walk? Now you reach the fun stage watching the little personalities develop. I love it when they get to knowing the sound of your voice and come excitedly running over as soon as they see or hear you approach :)
  3. I know you have said money is an issue, but if you can work out a way to afford a trainer Alexa Davidson does "Un chase" workshops http://www.scholarsincollars.com.au/unchase.html
  4. For trollies, I have an OKS trolley and love it. https://sites.google.com/site/dogshowequipmentcom/ It is usually them or C-Crate that people recommend. A friend got 1 recently very similar to a c-crate trolley and it is great but I'm not sure who it was through. For driers, I have a Double-K which has been going strong for 8 years now but they have gone up a lot in that time. A couple of friends have these from Ebay and are quite happy with them http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2800W-Pet-Dryer-Dog-Grooming-Blaster-Blower-Hairdryer-Adjustable-Temp-Low-Noise-/281754061517?hash=item4199d9cacd:g:E9AAAOSwvTxUlRAn or http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-2800W-Stepless-Speed-Pet-Dryer-Dog-Cat-Grooming-Blaster-Blower-Hairdryer-/131225895143?hash=item1e8dac40e7:g:ke4AAOSwys5WUrkz
  5. 1 x 3 seater lounge 2 x recliner chairs 1 x queen bed And then if they really have to: 1 x snooza cuddler 1x costco memory foam bed 1x some other brand memory foam bed And outside: 1 x inner spring cot mattress (these are an excellent affordable bed for bigger dogs) 2 x raised hammock beds. Towels - more than us and blankets probably more than us! All for 3 dogs :)
  6. This 1 looks good. Found it when googling the 1 Riverstar-Aura mentioned. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kar-9-Keeper-Universal-Pet-Dog-Safety-Vehicle-Barrier-Guard-PetEgo-Walky-/231171012961?hash=item35d2ddb961
  7. Same - my home state but I won't go as it may as well be interstate. With work I was never going to be able to do all days so was hoping for West Beach and being able to pick a couple of days to enter. No way I can do that with Wirrina. It is a lovely place though. I do wonder how accommodation will go given the vast majority of locals will also be needing a place to stay.
  8. I gave up on fancy collars as you can just never see them. Rogz collars are what I actually use but they only have collars on when we are out so I don't work too much about coat damage. A friend has a nice rolled leather buckle collar for her dogs that is good on coat.
  9. Lupine collars - I don't have these but I like them and know a few people who use them. They do a martingale as well. And they do replace without asking questions if they are chewed. http://rover.ebay.co...4b70f47fe6bd0d7 eta link to Lupine webpage http://store.lupinepet.com/medium-dog-originals-martingale-collar/
  10. I used this method successfully http://www.shirleychong.com/keepers/retrieve.html
  11. I would just monitor her and if you see her start doing that, you know she won't eat so take the bowl away and offer it again later.
  12. I like my Hurtta coats too. 55 might be too big for Kenz, but I'm sure Lira will grow into 1 :)
  13. A 5 month old puppy would not have anywhere close to an adult coat. My understanding is they should all be the same in every way except coat, and the determining factor in the name used is their coat type. My very limited understanding of the genetics of them is that you can't get a Mal from a Groen x Terv. Groen can't be crossed with Mal as then you could get smooth coated blacks which are not registrable. Laekenois can only be crossed with 1 other and I can't remember if it is Mal or Terv. With any luck Ivy~Badger, Huski or another Belgian person will give a better explanation :)
  14. Sounds like a Terv to me :) My understanding from speaking with Belgian people is they are all structurally the same dog and the name refers to the coat type. As a 5 month old his coat will still be growing,
  15. Thanks Piper I will be using a stake out :) Phew, I'm glad :) The thought of loose in a vestibule worried me!
  16. A crate with a crate mat? If your vestibule is like the 1 on my tent, I would not leave an unsecured dog in it. There is no built in floor so they could easily push out of it.
  17. We are going in a cruise in December but that 1 leaves earlier than I can leave work, add to that my husband may have divorced me if I booked of a dog lovers cruise for our holiday. LOL
  18. Excellent product but too expensive to use regularly. I would without hesitation use it if away for shows/trials though. I haven't used the venison 1 - just the lamb or the green tripe. Dogs love it.
  19. I may be able to arrange something for you but would like to see some more information on the study first.
  20. Oh wow. I do remember and had the pleasure of meeting him :) Happy birthday Leo!
  21. I've heard of people paying more than that for his dogs. Yes - I think that was a conservative estimate and wouldn't account for the "rare" blue pups.
  22. I saw mentioned elsewhere something like 300 puppies registered in less than 12 months at $2000 - $3000 per puppy
  23. Not a toy breed and also not a large breed but my girls seem to have late first seasons. I decide with Cinna if she wasn't in by 2 I would get her checked. She came in at about 20 months. Her Mum was about 16 months with her first season and both of them seemed to take forever coming in - their behaviour indicated they were imminent for several months prior and boys reacted differently to them as well. I was sure with Cinna in February that she was coming in, June rolled in and we were still waiting! Her appearance and behaviour remained very puppy like - I pulled her out of the show ring as she looked like a minor puppy in intermediate. 4 weeks after a season her behaviour and shape and changed quite a bit. Give her time - I was told it is a fairly heritable trait so if the breeder says it is normal for her lines I wouldn't be worried yet.
  24. 1 of my first borders was a bit that way but it was more that whatever gal he picked up for that game/day was the only 1 he would play with. We tried Flyball and he would do the fist run but after that would race down and pretty much go "nope not my ball" and then go check the buckets to find "his" ball. And Jazz will only play with a blue Aussie Dog frisbee. When 1 is killed it is about a fortnight before she will retrieve the new 1 to me - apparently she doesn't like the new smell/feel :)
  25. I think this 1 is down South https://www.facebook.com/MuckyPupsAdelaide?fref=ts
