RIP you beautiful boofer. He was such an ambassador for the Bullmastiff. The hardest part of loving is letting them go. Hugs to you Serena and your entire family
  4. Oh no, the poor old boofa. RIP old boy, no more pain, just butterflies at the bridge. You fought a big battle. My sympathies to his owner and to you too IG. You all tried to hard to save him.
  5. I am hoping he just wont weight bear due to fatigue from the blood loss. Poor old boy, everything is still crossed for him.
  6. She posted it on Facebook. I just wanted to send her my sympathies.
  7. I just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about Rocco's passing. He was an amazing dog and he and Ralph gave me many a giggle at their antics and their outfits. RIP big boy. Run free at the bridge. I have edited my title because I omitted to put Ralphdog's name in and I imagine her pain is almost as much as Serena's.
  8. I got to the end of page 8 and was about to go to the last page which was pg9 and POOF gone
  9. Ok so which page is the official one? or is it both of them? I sent the first link to everyone in my address book lol.
  10. There were 24 members when I joined the group, a few minutes later there were 32. Leo will take over the world lol.
  11. Oh MY!!!! I was looking at my photobucket account yesterday and I have a copy of an update of Leo in there from Jan 2008 and I was going to post today to see if anyone had any news of you all. I have small tearies now. I am so glad he is still doing well. I hope you are all well too. How is your sons back now? So many questions!
  12. My dogs are broked. They dont do zoomies They dont play toys either. They just want to be inside with us and when they are put outside, they knock on the door to come back in.
  13. Thinking of you and poor old Grover. Get better big boy.
  14. RIP little chookie girls. I am so sorry I forgot to close the gate last night before bed. The children are going to be devastated when they wake up.
  15. Really? I wasnt sure if it would be toxic or not. I have Aerogard in a little pump pack. I dont want to spray it on the ends though where she has been bitten, it might hurt.
  16. No, no crate, unless you class the run of the house as a crate lol. Yeah I might try the vaseline. I have paw paw ointment but I thought being sweet it might actually attract them a bit more.
  17. My GSD is constantly harrassed in summer by flies. One day of not putting some sort of deterrent on her and her ears have been bitten badly. I have run out of fly prevention stuff and need to get some more today. Any suggestions? She is inside as much as possible while I am here. I have to leave her for a few hours outside this afternoon (she cant be trusted inside alone unfortunately), any suggestions to keep them at bay until I get home? Edited to add I only have human stuff here atm, Rid, Aerogard.
  18. I have used both the spray bottle and also a Chux superwipe lol. I washed it thoroughly first then soaked it and basically dripped it all over her. I gently wiped it over her tummy where her main problem is. I did a bit of a tip over her sides where she scratches and wipe in with the chux. Her tummy is easy as every summer it is hairless It is like wiping a baby's bottom.
  19. I feed RC too. I used to feed Advance and found that their coats were getting a little dull at times and I could get the RC for not much more of a cost. I have also tried Nutrience which they loved too. My staffy x does a little dance when dinner comes out and Miss Whiny Shepherd sings lol.
  20. My dog has very similar to yours and it is a seasonal grass allergy. She gets it every spring and summer. I am pretty sure its the kikuyu grass we have but its such a big area I cant replace it. Erny put me onto Calendula Tea a couple of weeks ago and its been fabulous at relieving the itch. I know its ok for humans for ear infections, maybe you could make some up for her and use it to clean her ears and see how you go?
  21. 4 days in and its great. Only occasional itchies, no redness whatsoever. The back of her feet were getting really red and inflamed but with one dose of tea they were back to being normal albeit a tad bald from the biting. I steaped it until it cooled and applied, now she sees the spray bottle coming and drops and rolls over lol. Does anyone know how long the goodness lasts? It would be great to just use whats in the spray bottle (fridged then warmed of course) rather than making a new batch all the time.
  22. Well I purchased some Calendula tea last night and tried it and by this morning all the redness was gone and all that was left was the raised dots. I have completed bathed her in it just now and am waiting on her to dry. I didnt want to resort to drugs if I could help it. I am pretty sure it was the cause of all my problems with my last staffy that we had to pts at 8yo. Fingers crossed!
  23. Mine goes through this every year. I apply some Neotopic normally but have run out. I also find that Sigmacort seems to work for her. It is usually cleared up within the day but it needs to be applied a lot in summer. I try and keep her indoors during summer but its not always possible so we tend to have a few flare ups.
  24. My staffy x gets a summer itch every year since I have had her. She never had it at rescue but it started as soon as she got into our yard. I find Pawpaw ointment is good to help settle it down (if its a contact allergy) and it also leaves a little barrier for protection, however its not good if they are an inside dog, I can tell you that from experience lol. I also keep a bottle of Neocort on hand for any bad flare ups and also hot spots. My girl has only had one hot spot and she got it from laying on the grass, near her water bowl, where the water drips constantly to keep it fresh. The grass was humid due to the water and this caused the hot spot. She also gets an outbreak of the itchies straight after we have mowed the lawn or after watering it. I tend to keep her inside a LOT during summer just to avoid it. Good luck, its awful seeing them so uncomfortable and not being able to pinpoint the cause.
