Why? Isn't that taking out the true nature of the breed just for the show ring? That would be like taking the boldness from a Stafford or the drive from a GSD. What do you mean by 'protective kennelling'. A kennel that attacks? A kennel that protects the dog from the elements? I have kennels scattered all over my property and they are barely used. They prefer to lie out in the open so that they can see what is going on around them.

I agree. I didnt see it as stirring either. I only mentioned it was an old thread as sometimes people dont realise and then their thoughtful posts are often 'wasted' on the OP as they aren't around.

I'd say it was the owner who filmed it.
-
I wonder if the owner of the dog has even seen it.
-
I saw that on FB and watched it holding my breath with my jaw on the ground. The dog has to be commended, who on earth lets a child use their dog as a bouncy castle?

Thread is 6 months old.

I've not ever heard of them before and would have said GSD X too. Thanks for sharing Off to google them now.

Why doesnt she just have it treated? I agree with the others, walk away and find a breeder who health tests. Not worth the heart ache. $600 for an unpapered Staffy is a rip off too. For only a couple of hundred more you could get a real Staffordshire Bull Terrier from health tested parents.

I have a friend who breeds and shows her Malts... T. I'm sure they're out there, I was just making a point that they're not common at all IYKWIM.
-
But my dogs would do the same, I think a lot of dogs would. I dont know if I see that as bad rehoming, just bad luck. The other dogs owner should have kept their dog contained.

In about16 yrs of working with dogs, I dont think I've ever come across a pedigree Maltese.
-
Greylvr, I do hope you can work something out so that you can continue to help the breed. I really don't think bringing Greys home when you have a cat and a small dog and no means to properly separate, is fraught with danger though. Good luck :)

Would it slip over the top of the original?
-
All my dogs are fed one meal a day.usually between three and six pm. The pug starts screaming at three and ripping/clawing the verandah gate, so if I'm home it's really only later if I can bear the drama.
-
Can't you separate them when not at home? It's easy enough to do. I'm certainly not anti rehoming dogs when they dont fit, but yours seems like an easily fixed scenario.
-
Do your Dobes have certain times when they're bouncy or are they pretty much always bouncy? There is 55kgs difference between two of my dogs so I separate them in the late avo at zoomy time and when Im out.

My Pug does this

I looked after a Grey for a while and sought advice from a Grey person on here about my cats. If I am wrong hopefully a Grey person will correct me, I would be interested to hear it. She said things to watch out for were not the things I would normally watch for with prey drive. The Grey I had would freeze, her ear would flicker and her mouth would quiver. I decided never to trust her as it just wasnt worth it for minding a dog short term, but found it interesting that they seem to show different signs other than lunging and barking and general over excited behaviour.

Lucy? Sounds similar. Either way she is lovely

I know the Ruthless ones aren't in your budget but they really are a lifelong investment. I love mine and it is still in terrific nick many years later.
-
If they're the perfect weight, then you're not over feeding them Donatella Tara, I have a BARF box out in the garage will check for you. But I wouldnt worry too much, I never go by weight I just feed for whatever makes them look a good weight. All dogs are different so if your dog looks good then I woudlnt worry. Although it doesnt sound like much? Some dogs do well on the smell of an old rag though.

How can they foresee that. Not that I agree with pet shop pups but many of them go on to life long, loving homes.

Check out the Pound Rounds thread.
