  1. Wow! They've certainly chummied up pretty quickly, Well done
  2. I would run a mile from any breeder who sells the whole litter on main register.
  3. I think I've tried every premium kibble on the market. I'm now fluctuation between Taste of the Wild and the fish Holistic Select. I've used Holistic Select on and off for many years and find it to be the best.
  4. He is a stunning looking dog, love his name too! Sorry about the diagnosis but I will be following this thread knowing there will be good news

Sorry Mantis, I know how close he was to your heart. Take care.
  6. Chantelle, you will probably get loads more advice if you go to the Dane Thread in the Breed Sub Forums. Good luck
  7. Mine is very energetic. She is fit and lean though, so I guess the fitter the dog the more energy they have.
  8. My guess is the bull breed mixes. They love a good barney and easily get riled up. I can remember a wise breeder telling me when I got my first Stafford pup, that the best thing I could do for my girl was to stay away from other bull breeds.
  9. Reverse clipping is a technique gaining popularity. I don't do it as I don't see the point, and other reasons, but lots of experienced groomers are playing around with it.
  10. I'd say user error. I've used Aloveen in my salon for over a decade and it's never caused knots.
  11. My daughter and her friend wanted to pat a Whippet but they were all just about to go in to the ring and we got side tracked by black Pugs :D
  12. I went to the Robbo show today with a friend who is a bit anti breeder Her dogs have been pet shop dogs. We walked around the rings and she assumed no one would let us touch their dogs or people wouldn't talk to us. Everybody was sooooo friendly. I've not ever been to a show where everyone was so chatty and willing for their dogs to be patted before. Everyone was so great letting the kids pat the dogs and some people even when out of their way to get dogs out of crates for the kids to get up close with. It was such a lovely experience and I was stoked that I may have 'turned' my friend to the pedigree world
  13. I don't think 15 is that cold either. If you rug them at that temp their coats won't thicken to be able to withstand much at all. I don't rug til dead winter - it was ten degrees here today and only my old Tzu was rugged. If you ave a bed with sides they will curl up in that. Failing that I would look at a heated bed and Magyver a way to have the cords out of sight.
  14. That's what I was just thinking.
  15. My SBT sleeps with me. She is the most biddable dog I've ever owned.
  16. My farted like nothing I had ever smelt before on the BH. 3 of them calmed down after a month or so but one remained stinky. Now feeding Taste Of the Wild with no farting
  17. I've never read a dog magazine in my life - DOL is enough for me! I have always loved/preferred the long coats. Curious what the general consensus is for 'old time' breeders? I can't imagine it would be too popular? As mentioned above, I would use thinning scissors. Contact a local groomer and ask if you can be shown how to do it properly. Well worth being taught properly, rather than trying to figure it out on your own. A neat foot is a wondrous thing :D
  18. Back when I was young, we didn't ask - but if we got bitten we got over it and learned our lesson.
  19. Excuse my ignorance but isn't the LC a fault? I love the LC's!
  20. Hi Crisovar, The seasonings just add extra flavor, basically as we like the flavor of seasonings I believe our dogs do too, and also to add additional trace vitamins. IMO. Surely the chicken stock is more than adequate for extra flavour? I don't understand how sugar, salt and pepper could be of any benefit?
  21. One of my dogs was getting hot spots and the other is just a general all around itchy dog. They have both improved since being on TOTW fish. I really cannot believe the difference in my Staffords black coat though - she has always had a healthy looking coat but she now just looks amazing, almost as if I have oiled her. :D
