OK I have myself a bobcat man and a 12m bin - all booked for Wednesday morning - so armed with a shovel I will be following him around :happydance:

I would be too scared to even go a shovel's distance near a snake  There are loads of snakes where I am from but only a few really poisonous species, here they just about all seem really dangerous...

GR your puppy is soooooo cute  Love the dark ones :happydance: The name Paddy is gorgeous, even if it is an irish name not a scottish name!!

Mirawee thanks so much if you can pass that ticket onto me on Sunday that'd be great, i'll come find you.

I didn't show at the Working Dog Club Show on the weekend - our next show isn't until the Royal - thank goodness because Charlie really needs some work to get ready... I'm tired just thinking about it.

Rach I hope your sister finds herself a good puppy from a good breeder :happydance: It's not easy to get a well bred Choccy unless you are willing to look.

It wasn't that long ago now that I found a snake in my backyard... it was in the alfresco in the corner - a baby brown snake (i can't remember what it was though!). My two went nuts and I was just lucky i got out there in time to throw them inside... I wasn't risking my babies, so being small, i managed to catch him, get him in a pillowcase and called the snake catcher the next day, who thought i was brave but nuts, by the way, but when it comes to the protection of my dogs, what can i say?

My bro just started work on Koolan Island ( small island in the Kimberley) and he was telling me they have something like 7 of the 10 deadliest snake species there *shudder* Bugger that!

Geeeeez!!!! Hope he has good health insurance - oh and LIFE insurance!! :happydance:

Thanks ST. I think I will be very happy with him when he gets here. Have treats and clicker all set to go

Argh! I've always thought I was safe living in a new subdivision but you've scared me now!!!

Yes I am nuts - and i won't try it again but the snake was so close to my door and so tiny there was no way i was leaving him out there.

Remember they are attracted to water/moisture and like to hide under things so keep everything clear and grass short.

AP we'd only just moved in and there is bush behind us, so it was easy for him to make an entrance. I'll be keeping an eye out this year also.

It's funny not long after the snake i found a scorpion in my bathroom - i was so not impressed!!

Housemate hunt vent

When you advertise for a fulltime worker in their 20's or 30's to rent a room off you, and you get an enquiry from a 16 year old stay at home MOTHER, you really do feel like cracking open the vodka :happydance:

I've said it before and I will say it again - give me boisterous puppies over screaming babies anyday!!!

So many pages to catch up on.....

Well done Mas1981 on your results today - you should be tickled pink with Mason - especially since he is going through a tough patch with his allergies.

Mirawee - that photo is beautiful :happydance:

I got a BIG fright this morning. I was gardening in the house yard - pick up a piece of wood and under neath was a duigite. I cover 30m in near record time with all the kids in hot pursuit. The snake is no longer with us - but I am staying with mum for a few days waiting for my heartrate to return to normal. The grey hairs will be with me forever

Know the feeling well and how scarey it is, I had bad dreams for weeks of them comming into the house. As to covering the ground fast, those Dugites can fairly move too. :happydance:

Mind you when they endanger family members of both the 2 and 4 legged kind its surprising how brave one gets.

Cute baby mirawee :) I like the cross too, makes a good horse!!

I have just had an exhausting weekend at a bazillion dog shows........................I am soooooo knackered!

I had a lovely time tho, although I didnt get to catch up with any DOLers apart from WX, who just happened to be sitting with her two gorgeous pooches very close to where we were camped :D . So I got Naca hugs, and feel very lucky! Thanks J!

I saw some lovely dogs, including some south aussie ridgies, cute as buttons 14 week old basenjis and some nice little kelpies....Now after a three hour drive I just want to sleep.

Sorry I missed you!! :( I was on the lookout for a blonde and a redhead today but didn't see anyone that fitted the description and had no idea where/who you would be sitting with...

Will you be at Hound Day at the Royal?

Buzz had a lovely weekend; Baby in Show yesterday at the Sighthound show (not quite by default; the only other baby was another Whippet - Whipitgood's new little one Georgie :D - got some lovely comments from the judge though who was quite taken with him so that was nice!) and was in the last two for Baby in Show today - the judge ran us and a Beagle and the Beagle got it. Not to mention I won the raffle at the Sighthound show yesterday! :D :)

Not going to Geraldton so next show for us is the Royal, which will be Buzz's last show in Baby!

Well done Mas on Mason's wins! Mirawee, Gaz is adorable  Ptolomy -  Has your heart resumed it's regular rhythm yet? I hate snake season :( ST, did you show Charlie at the Working Dog Show today? Hope everyone had a lovely weekend! :)

ETA: Welcome home Lincoln! :D

Thats ok PD, I did have a browse for some DOLers, saw Emery in the ring with Kelari but that was it!! When it comes to searching for people at shows it seems Im not much good at it! And everyone seems so busy and distracted I hate to distract them :o ...

I will be at the Royal on hound day, looking forward to seeing my favourite RRs again!! I will try and track you down that day!!

Hmm snakes, yes they are out and about. Long handled shovel, or hoe, or a long piece of 1and a half inch poly pipe. We have one on each side and one near the dog runs. This year we have had two warm days in a row and on my travels I saw 4 dead snakes. nowhere near my house thankfully, also when I was in the vets the other day they had two snake bites and they are not the only snake bites they have had!
