  1. Googled and found... http://www.alapahabluebloodbulldogs.org/history.php
  2. Have Scout who's heading to 10 years and Sarge who's just over a year old. They go out for wees around 11ish and then they're in my room all night up until about 7 or 8 am. Usually have to wake the slugs up to go out in the morning lol. They fit in with whatever my sleep pattern is really...if I sleep, they sleep and they don't annoy me to go out.
  3. I used to just make my own bokashi bran and had a home made bokashi bucket [lots of DIY info on the net in regards to this]. No need to spend megabucks on the 'official' system. Also had a normal compost system. But the bokashi stuff I used to bury where the dogs couldn't go [just in case]. Now I don't use either with the introduction of the green waste system here, where everything organic can go into it, including pet waste. I guess it made me somewhat lazy in regards to composting and the like.
  4. I usually get to sit in the middle and squeeze in between the two boys on the 3 seater couch
  5. I used to say please take the dog to a vet/pound...but got lambasted too many times - saying I was cruel to even mention the word pound, so I remain silent now. Infuriates me no less when people keep animals and just post online. The few dogs I have found up here either have contact numbers on the collar or a rego tag [often an out of date colour by a few years], but have always managed to find the owners and the council has contacted them to collect from here [just have to keep them well away from my dogs]. If I can't get a quick owner find then I would be send the dog to the local pound/vet. Dogs I've found wandering in the streets with no collar, I just take straight to the closest vet, they're happy to take in/scan etc.
  6. I use 3 keyring rings, one on the rego tag, one on the id tag, then one connecting the two and goes on the collar ring. Easy to swap and change over to other collars.
  7. Scout grew out of eating it, but Sarge still hasn't [he's 16 months old]. He's not as bad as he used to be, with the occasional mung on Scout's poo now. Just annoying as it turns him from doing lovely barker's eggs to mr whippy /sigh.
  8. I've always just used giant click tags, print out the info, trim and laminate and put inside. Scout's has lasted well over 6 years since I made it. Sarge has a mini one, until I get a giant version. I do replace the rings with sturdier key rings from old unused key bundles. Made one for the Kelpie next door and she swims in dams and pools and what knot and it's still going strong after a year. Plastic Key Tags
  9. Stern voice doesn't always work on Sarge, nor does imitating growling...makes him more excited. I just hold a pillow up and tell him the pillow is watching and he backs off. Tempted to be silly and draw eyes on a white pillow so the pillow really can watch him lol.
  10. Your dog your decision I say. I agree with just ignoring what people say, you know your dog better than anyone else. Was talking to my vet yesterday about getting the puppa snipped in March [when he's around a year old]. They've always respected my decision to wait until he's matured somewhat before getting him snipped and haven't pushed to have him done earlier.
  11. Mine can only go out under the veranda to do their business [no sun for them], then it's back inside with the AC. Even then have to check first as with the heat, generally get snakes under there seeking respite. Pretty much all through summer the dogs don't go for any car rides, not worth the risk for me [even stays rather hot at night].
  12. My guys get fed twice a day, what their one meal would be is broken up into two smaller meals. If I don't they do biley chucks and feel seedy.
  13. Happy New Year to you too Hazy and all DOLers, both two legged and four legged :D
  14. True, true, so used to the farting and snoring...I don't even notice it any more.
  15. Dogs that give presents always remind me of the Looney Tunes cartoons, with the little dog following the big Bulldog around saying ''Chester is my hero''. With the little dog always trying to please the alpha Bulldog with things lol.
  16. lmao indigirl, I near splurked my drink all over my phone.
  17. Having two Boxers, one with not so much flob and a youngin with more flob...they both drool, but only after drinking or there is super yummy human food around. The rest of the time their mouths are dry.
  18. Sarge gives me chewed and slobbered on socks or occasionally the bathroom mat which he's dragged out and run all over the house with Scout usually gives me his rope toy [about a meter long] or leaves

  21. Could also be a grass seed that has weedled it's way in under the skin. Abscess is building up around it as it's a foreign body.
  22. When paramedics in Brazil raced a homeless man to the hospital after he had an epileptic seizure, they never expected his 4-legged besty Spike to insist so adamantly on coming along for the ride. The dog was even allowed to stay by the side of his human throughout the duration of their stint in the emergency room (and thankfully, the man has since fully recuperated). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjSEv3Bki18 From:- http://news.distractify.com/alex-scola/er-dog/
  23. Have a very Merry Christmas and an amazing New Year
