  1. I figure if I spell I either can't break anything or more importantly I don't know if anything is broken Can you try training the seek back in a well walked over area? That is the only difference I can think of between training and trialling. Maybe not so many new fresh scents in training?
  2. I enjoyed watching Ann when she came to Vic for our state trial a couple of years ago. Mmmm B course. Poppy is much more confident going and getting sheep from a long distance now so she might be ready to do a B course. The fetch was the only thing that was an issue last time I tried. She didn't want to go so far from Mummy. She does sometimes forget that I need the sheep though and goes into a little trance and drives the sheep where ever she feels like it Normally through the obstacles as I think she has learnt the A course layout So would need to check that she will bring me the sheep and not go off free styling.
  3. Oh no DD. Sorry that you had a dog tragedy Congrats on the skin kid and business though.
  4. Hey Dogdude, Nice to 'see' you. I was thinking I hadn't seen you around for ages the other day and hoped that you were ok. :D
  5. Congrats Piper and Sherlot. Great results.
  6. When my Moss died my other dog Fern just lay on her bed looking like she wanted to die too. I could not stand it at all and went flat out to find a puppy. She picked up a bit with the new pup but it still took a while before she was super happy again. I was very lucky in that I found a breeder had kept 2 pups to pick from at weeks so I got a lovely dog straight away. I disliked the situation so much that I got a third dog when Fern got elderly rather than waiting until she passed. Very sorry you lost Mozart.
  7. I think this Chow just got clipped once a year with minimal brushing in between. It took a looonnnng time.
  8. I clipped a Chow Chow! Now that was not fun. The dog was great, much sweeter then the majority of SWF. I really wished I had some horse clippers during that job.
  9. well i think not giving back $1500 would be very unfair. and as people have said above, fine I could always take the dog then and re-sell on the trading post.... Charming. You asked the bloody question. Some will refund. Some will not. What do you think a deposit is for? You put a $40k deposit on a house and just change your mind, good luck getting that back.
  10. I don't think that the breeder is obliged to give you the deposit back. They might have turned away another home that has now found a dog elsewhere.
  11. Talcum powder around the bowl. Works brilliantly.
  12. For a month now a dog near me has barked and barked at night for long periods of time. It either keeps me awake or wakes me up. I am really getting feral about it now. Unfortunately I can not work out were it lives.
  13. http://www.naturalbalance.net.au/ http://www.watchandgrowpetco.com.au/ Another couple of Australian companies. I wasn't a big fan of the ingredients in these 2. This one - http://www.australianpettreatcompany.com.au/c/277977/1/holistic-lamb-and-rice-premium-dry-food.html. A couple of different companies seem to have this formula.
  14. Lucy was probably more stressed because you weren't there. I would just see how she goes and give her lots of pats etc.
  15. How do you even know there is anything wrong with the puppy?
  16. Natures Gift is Australian owned. When I called them a couple of years ago only the rice was imported.
  17. According to a ProPlan rep I spoke to at work, the whole range is Aus made except the Sensitive at this stage. I have a bag of Pro Plan Puppy here, which I won. It is manufactured by Mid Western Pet Foods - USA The change is quite recent so there is probably some USA stock floating around still.
  18. I tried every single dry dog food including the very expensive super premium foods. My youngest dog would either not eat them or would get a really bad rash. In desperation I tried Supercoat Sensitive and we have success. No rash and she will actually eat it. It doesn't work out to be super cheap though as it is not available in bigger bags. It is a good idea to do an elimination diet to work out what your dog is sensitive to. If it is a plant allergy a good with good oils might support the skin a bit.
  19. I'm really sorry about the puppies. What a horrible experience for you.
  20. Wow Luke that is no good. Hope you feel better soon. Is there anything we can do for you?
  21. Have hysterics. More than normal. Withdraw if I couldn't get them revved up. And smack myself over the head as I would need to do something to flatten them or they would be sick.
  22. There are 3 Maremmas that look after chicken just around the corner from me. I stopped one day to let one back into the paddock as it was out. That was a rather nerve wracking experience. It seemed to work out I was trying to help though. I wouldn't walk my dogs past that house though as I am not convinced about the fencing!
