Has Anyone Tried Natures Gift Products
JulesP replied to shyfig's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
There is Holistic Select Anchovy, ProPlan Sensitive (which is Salmon based), California Natural Herring (only available through PP chains though), Candidae Salmon. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head! Feeding Amber is a pain. She likes Phuds which is similar to Vets All Natural. She likes beef mince. She likes chicken necks & wings & lamp flaps. She likes sardines but not on Phuds or on kibble! Hated Barf patties! She isn't a veggie fan either. She was eating the ProPlan sensitive but is now refusing to do so. ETA: she will eat 4Leggs very happily too and Ecopet rolls. Will sometimes eat NG tinned food. -

Mainly the wheat and the sugar. I had a chat to them and the wheat is to bind the kibble and I think the sugar had something to do with preserving it. I think wheat is only a problem if your dog reacts to it. One of mine does, she gets quite itchy if feed a product with wheat. So you could try it and see how you go. My 1yo Border is pretty much refusing to eat any kibble so I feel your pain. If your pup likes cat food, have you tried any of the fishy dog foods? Eagle Pack make one, as do a couple of the other companies. -
Even with the horses I've only seen people using the small blocks LP. I used to use talc powder. That might be cheaper. Got even my red strained pony white legs white! I used to apply it when the animal was still a bit soggy and then brush it out when dry.

Good job Superminty. I hope to try Poppy on ducks on the weekend. I have a feeling she isn't going to be interested. Might be wrong but I think she is all about the sheep! i am feeling really mean as I only plan to bring Poppy. It is such a handful trying to bring all the dogs though. And I just spent the Trudy clinic fretting about giving the other 2 time out of the car.

Haven't really had a problem with any of their products. Don't use them all the time but happy to use if needed. The kibble is pretty expensive though and works out at about the same price as a big bag of premium kibble per 100kg. A couple of ingredients I don't like in the kibble. -
Bitty has trained you well

Huskies Maul Dog Owner's Jack Russell To Death In Savage Attack
JulesP replied to The Spotted Devil's topic in In The News
If that is the case then the dogs shouldn't be put to sleep. As long as there have been no other incidents of the dogs being out. I had never seen the guard dog that attacked me out before. When I was asked what I wanted to do about it that is what swayed me. Yes the decision on what to do about the dog was put on me. Not nice. -
I would probably avoid having both dogs in the same class at the same time with different handlers. It usually doesn't go well at the beginning.
-
Sounds good. Are you going to take them to dog school? You might need to think about how to do that with 2 pups.
-
That is them! :D The ones I saw up close were hard moulded plastic and fitted very snugly into the back of a wagon. Very stylish too. They do not move anywhere, cannot tip, and best of all the dogs LOVE them! The Brits are the best with their dogs, and no, I have not seen anything like them in Australia yet, but must say that I havent been specifically looking either. I would not suggest that they are cheap but hey, they would be a lot cheaper than vet bills for impact injuries and without the trauma and pain! Souff You could give Puppybars a call. They might be able to make up something. I have seen something similar on Ebay before too.

Huskies Maul Dog Owner's Jack Russell To Death In Savage Attack

Poor little dog and poor lady. Not something that she is going to get over in a hurry, if ever. I screamed my lungs out when a dog attacked Brock with the intent of killing him. Mainly to attract help. It worked the owners ran out and got the dog off. -
Huh?

That is pretty damn cute!

Minor squabbles I usually let go. I think it is important to let the dogs sort things out to a certain degree. If the pup is being obnoxious and one of the older ones tells her off that is cool with me. (Disclaimer - none of my dogs have actually bitten another dog so this is not likely to get dangerous). I supervise meal times. I usually feed bones that can be eaten quickly so I can hang around and watch all is ok. I normally feed the bones out in a certain order but can feed out of order with no apparent angst. I have one dog that resource guards me. That takes a bit of control if I am sitting out and the other dogs want pats. But she isn't being too bad about it. Verbal control is all that is needed. I think more then having strategies in place for me it is about the the initial and general reinforcement that I am in charge and that they are to do what I say. And being consistent with that. (Unfortunately not working on the cats and I need an ecollar for those little bastards!) I do think that if I introduced an older dog to the household and it looked like they weren't going to get on that I would send the new dog back. I would also hesitate in getting an older dog because of how my older girl is. A few people questioned me getting a pup with her.

Pork Pies Or Lies The General Public Tell Us
JulesP replied to freundhund's topic in General Dog Discussion
I get lots of people admiring the colour of my border collies. "What a lovely colour" etc. I live on red dirt and their whites are strained a pinky apricot colour. -
MissMaddy I don't think being a strong leader stops scuffles from happening. Dogs fight. I think being a strong leader means that if you tell them to stop it that they do straight away. How about Four Paws k9 Training? Think you need help ASAP.

That is a shame Dova :D

Yeah! Congrats Ness & Kenzie

Mine didn't really react. They barked once. They are probably used to the banging as there has been a mega loud bird scaring gun near me this year.

Looks at Xtrail with back seats folded down and with dog crates and beds in whole back area.... Opps.
