I've now got 4 dogs However I am not sure that I think having a Dally & a LHW puppy at the same time is a good idea. Both breeds are a lot of dog and need a fair bit of time for training. They are generally not easy. I've had quite a few couples come through my class with 2 pups at the same time but they have all been little fluffies that have been pretty biddable. The couples have been super dedicated too and have done a great job with training. I would wait until your old boy goes. Funnily I got Amber as I like having 3 dogs and my old border (15yo) is really on limited time. I am actually really liking having the 4. Is very easy to put 2 in the house and leave 2 out. I have a heap of room too though.

I've had borders for 18 years now and I am careful about saying whether a dog is a border or Aussie Your stockier tri border can look a lot like a lighter Aussie and a lighter framed Aussie can look a heap like a border. They do move very differently though. And yes I have a sable border and I am sure no one is going to know what she is!!!

Don't worry Rubystar she is a rather unusual colour Congrats on all the agility results guys! Amber seems to like toys! yeah!!!! Third time lucky.

I would actually prefer to see a couple of really good corrections than heaps of little pops. You do a correction right and you only have to do it once or twice.

I had the wire crate in the car to pick up Amber but the damn thing made so much noise rattling that I decided I couldn't cope with it for 5 hours and ended up taking my soft crate. Luckily there was no chewing on the way home!

Even when I was married the dogs (and other critters) have been mine so it wasn't an issue. I am thinking that you need 2 puppies Cosmolo!

The alert has been downgraded to Watch & Act.

Great to hear that you are getting to do things with your doggie now. -
I got a tunnel from Air Dogs. Not super sturdy but does the job. Cost was $130. You can get mine ventilation ducting from Plasticoat, this works out cheaper than a 'proper' tunnel. Not sure of the current cost. I haven't seen any cheap seesaws or dog walks/A frame around. Cheapest would be to make your own. You could make up a wobble board fairly easily for seesaw work. I use steps and a dog ramp for contact work.

I usually pick the animal that picks me! They are very cute.

I like Natures Gift tinned food. The puppy one has 70% chicken (no offal), rice and veggies. That is it. If you are feeding a good dry food don't think that you need all the stuff that the Nutro one has in it. Nature's Gift is also the only doggie tinned food I don't mind opening, lol. I tried Advance & Eagle Pack and found them a bit mushy. I imagine the NG will be stacks cheaper than the Nutro too.

My border collie pup is going well. She isn't thrilled to be in the crate/pen in the room by herself but settles down very quickly. I've had one of the older dogs babysitting her at night and not a squeak out of her. One of the things I do is never, never go to the crate whilst they are crying. Even if it is time for them to come out, wait for a lull in crying.

I tried to get new puppy to walk around the garden today to see if she needed a poo. She was having none of it and went and sat in the shade and happily watched us all walk off. The other twitty borders were bouncing around like normal. Was around 36 degrees.

No I wouldn't want to train with a club those beliefs I didn't agree with but I don't think it is wrong that they have the beliefs. It was just the same in the horsey world. Each instructor followed a method and it was up to you to find a path that you liked and then an instructor that taught that way. So I guess I am just used to it.

My wire crate is 76cm. I can't see you needing anything bigger than that. My smaller border fits in it.
-
I knew that LP would steal her 'Dad's' dog She is looking really good though. She also looks quite tall? This is my brag for my training mates that don't go in the BC thread: Meet Amber!

You don't want your crate too big as then you might have problems with the pup toileting in the crate. Plus the smaller the crate the easier it is to carry, put in car etc. I do have 2 different sized crates, a smaller puppy one and a bigger soft crate.

I left the crate door open Goldiegirl. She was in crate sleeping though when I got up last night and this morning. She is currently in the crate/pen without company and cried for about 30 seconds and is now quiet! Here are some pics The pen

I actually think it is weird that people think that they can go along to a school and not follow the methods in place. I find out the training philosophy and if I don't agree then I simply don't go!!! There might be aspects of the training that I don't agree with so I will adjust that, but I wouldn't go if the whole thing didn't sit well with me.

First night went very well. Not a squeak out of her! I do 'cheat' though and leave one of the bigger dogs in. Poppy was babysitter last night and has gone from hating Amber to being her friend. No wees or poos inside either yet and I only got up once during the night. She is eating, drinking and toileting. Am loving the Bunnings compost pens. Would definitely recommend putting them on your list. They are a wire crate and cost $26. I have attached mine to my crate for a nice little pen. Am trying to get photos but she doesn't stay still for long and is usually dashing back to my feet! lol

My club has now banned CC. If people insist on using them then they have to have a one on one session with the head instructor to assess whether they can use them correctly.
-
Amber is home She was a very good girl in the car, not a squeak out of her for the 2 hours. The other dogs are slightly horrified, lol. She was quite relaxed about everything here and is very smoochy. She is fast asleep now.

Your dog LP??? Isn't that your Dad's dog?

I've had weekly puppy updates this time. It has been fun and very distracting as it takes me a while to settle down afterwards, lol. I met my pup's uncle tonight (mum's litter brother) and he was a just stunning, lovely natured dog. Not long to go now!
