And the truth is a statutory defence to a defamation case, so if a vet (qualified opinion) tells the owner that their pup has health defect, publishing the breeders name of the defective pup is not defamation unless the breeder didn't supply the pup or the pup isn't defective :) Actually the breeder can still take the buyer to court. It is then up to the buyer to prove that it is true. The breeder can also take Troy to court. IF the buyer had the papers and had transferred them into their name, there is nothing to stop them printing that "my dog Prefix xxxxxxx xxxxxx, has been diagnosed with generalised demodex". That is a statement of fact about a dog they own outright, it isn't slander or defamation, so long as they make no personal comments about the breeder. The problem here is that the dog is still in the breeder's name until those papers are supplied and transferred. They technically don't even own the dog outright yet, so can say nothing public about it. And you are happy to pay for legal representation for Troy and the OP if there is a problem?

My boss was buying cartrophen and doing the injections himself. He reckons it saved heaps of money. I can get details if you like.

When Amber wasn't eating I used a kids version of Ensure to keep her going. The cats and dogs all love it. It is called Pediasure and I got it from Chemists Warehouse. Got the vanilla one obviously! http://search.pharmacyonline.com.au/ppc/pediasure?utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=pediasure&utm_content=47230688542&utm_campaign=2045319542&OVRAW=Pediasure&OVKEY=pediasure&OVMTC=standard&OVADID=47230688542&OVKWID=569281029042&OVCAMPGID=2045319542&OVADGRPID=21110498930&OVNDID=ND2

Cat food has a strong smell so that can work. Not sure if it would upset his tummy again though.

Can see why TNS was suspected. Amber used to be a bit wobbly on her feet as a pup. She would run into things. Not enough for you to rush her to the vet though. During the bad seizure she had she was also walking very strangely. The US liver people I spoke to said they are seeing an increase in liver shunts in border collies.

Yep currently have 2 purebred pets with chronic illness. One breeder offered no support at all to me. I didn't expect money but a 'how is your dog, hope you are ok' would have been nice. Buying from a registered breeder is no guarantee they are going to give a shit. Bit bitter, sorry.

I really hope that Bailey has something less nasty than TNS. Glad to hear he is feeling a bit better now.

I would get the test and fluids. One of my border collies has a bad liver condition. Until it got really bad there really weren't any indications as to how sick she was but she would have had a lot of problems with the anesthetic and possibly would not have come out of it. A blood test would have shown there was a problem with her liver.

OMG. Could be a merle tri combo. That would give the blue merle with red. The merle doesn't work on the red tri bits

Supercoat Sensitive dry food is pretty good. A more expensive food would be ProPlan Sensitive Skin and Stomach. The 'best' dog kibble is one that your dogs do well on. Dog kibble causes some rather intense discussions on here and everyone has a different opinion.

Berwick is on Saturday. Think there are some smaller private clubs that might train on other days too. Croydon had agility on Monday nights and obedience run throughs on Wednesday nights.

I always drool over them at the markets. They are very nice.

French Bulldog With High Liver Enzyme Levels? Please Help
JulesP replied to a topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Yes Amber can only eat Hills L/D. Anything meaty or bones can cause her to have tremors. She is also on 2 sorts of medication. Funnily she now scoffs her food! I tried every single expensive brand of kibble, raw, barf etc etc and she would barely eat. Now she has this crappy soy food and loves it! -
French Bulldog With High Liver Enzyme Levels? Please Help
JulesP replied to a topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Try not to worry too much until you get the results. I have a border collie with inoperable multiple liver shunts. Whilst she appeared 'healthy' she was always a very fussy eater. She is also very little. Poos were normal and she never vomited. When the problem got more advanced She displayed some neurological systems like tremors, walking strangely and rubbing her head on things. She also developed fluid in her belly. Amber's ALT actually wasn't that high - 268. -
Barking When We Arrive Home
JulesP replied to Dame Aussie's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Poppy doesn't bark but she does this high pitched squeal which is truly ear piercing. She normally does this whilst bringing me a present! So having something in her mouth doesn't prevent the noise! Amber does this wooowooo noise which is just cute and not loud at all. I've various things to get Poppy to stop the noise but have failed miserably. -
Dry Shampoos , Potato Flour & Wonder Wash
JulesP replied to sheena's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Do you just lather it in then mop it up with a towel & the dirt comes out with it ??? Why do these BC's always think they look better with green greasy necks I just sprayed it on and then gave her a good towel dry. Did that a couple of times. -
Dry Shampoos , Potato Flour & Wonder Wash

I used a Plush Puppy instant shampoo on the weekend. It is wet but you don't rinse it out. It did a pretty good job on Poppy's whites which are usually red because of my dirt. It freshened her up in general. It is this stuff - http://www.plushpuppy.com.au/product.php?productid=26&cat=4&page=1 -
Do you have a Petstock near you? My local one is stocking Earthborn now.

I did have this situation and was told not to approach the judge, by a very experienced judge. They thought it would reflect negatively on me. There were 2 dogs I was worried about. One was not passing and was convinced to pull out of the stays. It was very unstable. The other dog was pretty stable but I knew Poppy hated it! I spoke to the owner about my concerns and we did some stays outside the ring, I heavily reinforced Poppy. Then in the ring I slightly angled her away from the dog. All was fine. But I haven't been into the ring since!! The stress of all that just did me in. Despite getting a good pass I just didn't find it fun. Having a go at Rally O now and finding it less stressful without the stays.

I am not picking on you. I am disagreeing with you.

I merely made a comment [never asked for any help, just a pure comment] and now I'm blaming BH for not working? Yes you are. See the bolded comment. No one is twisting your words so settle down.
-
It is not unusual for any animal to need more food in winter. Humans tend to want more food too, lol. I don't think that can be blamed on BH not working. I don't feed BH but read this thread as it is very entertaining, sorry!
