Dogs don't really get 'heat rash ' as they have no sweat glands there like we do. It could well be an allergy though //or some sort of bacterial infection ... or a reaction to her licking /scratching ..... what does the skin look like ? Damp?Pimply? flaky? scabby? is the hair red, or just the skin?

Poor baby - she does look ill - but treatment seems to be working :D I hope she is even better tomorrow .

awwwwww :)

They may pay TOO much attention, and if someone gets hurt , and has to have attention - then council may be told :"he's done it before ..and she was pregnant! " NOT good publicity for your dog

please go to another vet - and perhaps ask what anti histamine or other drug would be the most use for your particular dog.? Do not give OTC/Human drugs unless you have good experienced people /vets advising you. For 10 years I had a dog on cortisone/antihistamine almost every day dosage ... he did not suffer any of the symptoms your dog displayed .... It is a very individual thing .. some drugs can be fantastic .. if the dose is worked out correctly - other dogs cannot tolerate some drugs.

oh .. hope dog found a good home :) Mum & dad tell the story of when I was a toddler ..and a snake was in the kitchen ..me standing at one end ... 'Plonk' , my ACD X "Nanny dog" was let in ..and then Mum had to spend hours cleaning snake blood & guts off walls ;) Plonk was an excellent snake killer, and did kill snakes in my presence more than once .

Yes. Fingers Crossed that there are not many siblings of that snake!!

Also remember .. .. his behaviour will continue to change as he realises he is there to stay , and as he forms his own new habits ..these habits may not be ideal However he has only a doggie brain with which to think ..so he will do things which upset and frustrate you . He can never understand things like humans do ..and therefore his way of dealing with confinement /stress/ excitement may seem a bit 'different' at first.

?? Young dog goes sniffing around , gets too interested in snake ..and snake bites during the fight.... Very Lucky dog ... Eastern Browns are what we get most of ..and they are NOT my favourites at all - very fast and agile .... Hopefully he doesn't repeat the act when no one's around to get him to a vet .
-
Frozen turkey necks to chew :) or Deer antlers. start practicing N I L I F Don't let him run free in parks until he has mastered the manners .... lots of calm practice .. and educate your family/guests ;) Also keep dog away when visitors come .. introduce him on leash maybe ..and tell people to play like a dead tree ;)
