  1. I hope your time with the behaviourist helps you sort out all the variables in this ..and provides some sort of solution which will allow both dogs security and a home. The lab certainly is not totally un-agressive, unfortunately , and a good assessment will be invaluable when considering his future. ;) BTW, you will find that a high proportion of dog owners on here only feed human grade food to their dogs . good luck with it all.
  2. how sad for the lab ..he gets beat up thru no fault of his own. I hope he finds a very special home .

  8. Eating while at the vets is a good sign - hope she is stronger tomorrow :)
  9. ..and we really do need very cute big-foot pictures :)
  10. chopping & changing food ..feeding odd treats can upset sensitive tummies , for sure . Any changes should be done gently and gradually (except for the boiled rice etc when diarrhoea is present)
  11. You would be wise to get a fresh sample of poo ..and get back to the vet (or use a new vet) .If you got your pup from a breeder.. please contact them and ask their advice . It could be a food intolerance, it could be IBS, it could be a number of things ..and tests will need to be done to find out what . Perhaps in the next day or so before the next vet app't just feed him steamed pumpkin and a small amount of lean rabbit/beef/lamb/turkey .No treats, no bones ...no chicken.
  12. I am grateful our dogs would not think of doing that :) Oh.. we use the old firescreenslike this in doorways, too as an excluder. They work well, as I put them so they slope into the room where dog is ..and jumping is made more difficult :)
  13. yes... the aversive/deterrent needs to appear out of nowhere ..like the hand of God ;)
