  1. some great family portraits in this thread!!! another of the 4 pack at the beach last week, pretty much looking like they own the place :D (l-r) Jamie Texas Lotus Chester I didn't pose them like this, but they did need to wait while I took a couple of steps to the right, 'cause Texas was blocking Lotus :D
  2. awesome shots! great enthusiastic girl, looks like you had fun
  3. I know ;) ... I've been known to use it at other times as well, but it started out trying to get a nice "middle of the day" feel, especially since that was when I was using it for the dog shots persephone: you do so well with those macros and I was just thinking earlier huga, you did some amazing stuff with your p&s before branching out into DSLR perfect thread to emphasize it's not just the camera that makes a good photo
  4. haha cool! I do love my Lumix! and although I take heaps I don't tend to show them off much, this thread may encourage me to get them out into the light of day huga: I'm guessing you were referring to this photo from last weeks 52 Weeks shot of Jamie girl at the park? I took it to New York with me last month, and actually regret I didn't get it out of my pocket more often, but here are a couple: a couple of flower macros and of course, long walks with the dogs where carrying a big heavy camera is out of the question, it's always worth it I have even developed a daylight-with-the-lumix lightroom preset, not sure anyone really likes it, but I reckon it's cool ;) and I tend to take cloud photos a bit with it too? oh, and all time fav of my many phone pics is this one (yup my avatar )
  5. really looks like a place to soothe the soul and with such fun company :D
  6. nice tlc helen - Bella is a beautiful angel, well done! huga - I know I've already said this, but I'm really sorry to hear about the loss of Harry, lovely boy Lola looks a little lost without someone to play with the toys Jamie's 45/52
  7. utterly gorgeous pups :D wonderful photos ;)
  8. Jamie's 42/52 - a goodbye wave missed week 43 as I was away, and the dogs were kennelled 44/52 - I love NY! about half-way through this year I'd decided that was it, no more 52 Weeks, but just recently I've decided I'll be doing it again next year with Lotus and I'm a little excited, she'll be a lot more fun than Jamie, and I'm really looking forward to it. Anyone else going to go another year around?
  9. nice one! so I need some ladybirds on my roses then, I often find icky aphids in my rose macros shots
  10. Great pics!!! I love the light and shadow
  11. I voted for this one, I believe it's very creative, I can see how he could do it in camera when I read his description. I am disappointed in the 3 smoke image finalists that possess no relation to the brief that states: "It’s not just about shooting smoke, but capturing the essence of black and white photography in a dramatic way." and "While smoke itself can take on interesting and unpredictable forms, it’s a much more powerful element when it interacts with people, space and light" ... so while they are all very well and good, imo they do not fulfill the requirements of the brief.
  12. love the synchronisity of your pair kja this was shortly after I got back from picking my lot up from the kennels (I've been away for a week or so) ... do you think they are happy to be home?
  13. really like your incense b&w huga Harry is so happy, he always makes me smile Lola is looking perfect in that 1st shot, like Harry has no idea what is about to befall him with his big goofy grin, cool! just thought I'd throw some outtakes up ... from the bubblegum shoot I uploaded this as my confetti shot! Was trying so hard to get a nice shake shot with it, just didn't work a few outtakes and upload for inspired by sound ... I titled "testing Newton's Law" and an outtake, there were actually quite a few funny ones ... glad I've got it all done and dusted now
  14. love those shell! Great colour! you have me intrigued as to the confetti now with that outtake rayvk cool droplets! carebear, yup I agree with shell, a few I've seen on canon have that edge of seductiveness that I just didn't think of of bubblegum before Love the colours in your droplet shot too uploaded this one last night for the incense b&w shot titled "gravitation" ... as in the smoke always drifts (gravitates) into the non-smokers' face haha huga, yes, I made the mistake of looking through and found a few "Bubblegum kiss" photos after I'd already uploaded
  15. 41/52 I tried the "imitaion/tribute" challenge too with this shot :D
  16. cool! and yes I just love the butt shot, Frenchie butts are just too cute :D poor fella wasn't expecting a dunking :D
  17. I totally love your smoke ideas huga, really creative :D okay, I was really struggling, almost gave up on the whole deal, but decided since I'd put some effort into a couple of them, that I may as well enter them 'eh? oh well this is my macro droplet shot entitled "Dally DNA" oh, and I've just uploaded this one too the bubble-gum portrait I titled: "Bubblegum kisses" :D
  18. v. cool!!! the pair of them running is wonderful
  19. I'm too often out there with the camera tlc: nice dandelion shots Zero looks good in the garden here's a few examples over the past month or so and I guess I should add at least 1 each of the others Texas Jamie ... hard to find one that isn't a 52 Weeks shot Lotus ... I actually have a series of this ... it's quite funny as Chester has no clue what to do with Lotus when she's laying on her back
