  1. OMG Griffy, I coffee splurked at that sign !!! ;) I want that on a t-shirt fifi
  2. couldn't you just take your dog in the crate? ;) wouldn't work for my giant boofas !!! fifi
  3. There was a long thread about this some time ago, can't find it though. I usually pop in first to reception and let them know I'm here, and check the wait area for potential kitty teaser/ snacks !!!!!! fifi
  4. I think from what you said in the first post, they have one or two bitches each to breed ? Thats going to make it harder to get publicity for or make a moral stand on, as they will be able to claim they are not puppy farms as such, there won't be any footage for the media with the shock value of hundreds of little dogs in appalling conditions. Just so damn immoral, but then organised religion has never practiced morality :-( fifi edited to make sense !
  5. Don't think for a second because they are god squader's all will be sweet, some of the biggest puppy farms in the US are run by the Amish. fifi edit....do a google search on Amish puppy mills :-(((
  6. Oakway, we use lots of milk & yoghurt here, as do my mentors. all of the dogs have been raised with it extensivley and have no problems with digestion. fifi
  7. :D whoah Teebs, you are talking to the wrong breeders ! thankfully I've rarely met any like that. Just a polite introduction like Rommi's suggestion, basic information & dog owning background, reasons for wanting my breed, location, contact details, name ect. and agree with Warls, NOOOO text talk !! Maybe I'm an old fart and come from an age of written letters of introduction - that's my benchmark for first contacts, an email that I can actually read !! fifi edited to add stuff..
  8. I'm afraid emails of this nature are usually deleted by me. I used to take lots of time to send positive, educational emails with breed club contacts, polite requests for further info to help them in their puppy quest, ect. or at the very least a copy/paste response with similar information. And NOT one of those types of email folk ever replied, not even to thank me for my reply. So unless they show some kind of basic manners / introduction ect. I just don't have the enthusiasm to reply. fifi
  9. Also, from what you are saying about Faith, sounds like she is really ready for meals now, I'd be starting her on whatever you normally wean them on - she's letting you know she is ready - and feisty !!!! :-))) fifi
  10. I'd just be making her a plain egg yolk & milk mix, I don't think the salt & vanilla would be good for her. perhaps cook it for a minute in the microwave so its a slushy version of scrambled eggs. fifi
  11. Well done Julie, We need to be very visible in our responses to counteract the high profile the rspca will surf to gain support via their well oiled press machine. Registered breeders are being demonised atm I really like your mention of the 3% we are responsible for - would love a campaign here highlighting the puppy farm stats & conditions. fifi
  12. I'd definatley be contacting the kennels tomorrow, sounds like one very unprofessional (and potentially EX ) employee they have !!! fifi
  13. Ooops sorry ! too many 'Moony's' !! here 'tis !! http://www.moonee.com.au/ fifi
  14. Mooney Mooney beach just north of Coffs, great little council owned caravan park & camping right on the shorefront ! the managers are so welcoming of dogs and its heaven for them, sandy estuary for romping & safe swimming & endless beach. My wolfies just about climb out the windows with excitment when we pull up there !!!! fifi
  15. What a beautiful & magestic girl. Watch over your family Flash. hugs to you & your family FM The big dogs leave a huge gap in our lives when they are gone. fifi
  16. Totally agree with Aziah & fordogs, yes - eliminate possible infections, but a cytology smear at least could have been done on the spot and bloods sent for progesterone. fifi
  17. thanks Dyzney, I must get out to the bigger town's camping stores !!! I hadn't seen any that suited apart from the large cricket /sports / duffel bags. fifi
  18. I don't use my umbrellas much anymore, but have an Oztrail compact gazebo (one person put up in a minute and fits in small spaces when folded !) the trouble is, I have a shopping bag for the walls and roof (although mostly at the end of a show weekend I just fold it down with the roof on !) the bag they come with doesn't fit them in easily folded down without some post show pilates or yoga !!! and with roof & ropes still on - no hope !!! and too be honest - the bags never last very long ! I love the idea of a heavy duty bag large enough to chuck in the folded gazebo. with big roomy pocket / compartment for the walls, pegs ect. maybe you could also put this in the show section, I only saw this thread because of the title appearing on the froum page. fifi
  19. Hope the kettle is on for a cuppa over the bride little bebe :-) Thank you dogmad for making her last years so special - sounds like Bebe will leave a huge and precious memory. hugs from fifi & the wolfies xxx
  20. OMG, in our family, that would be like bringing home an axe murderer !!! 'doesn't like dogs'.... ;) naughty son, didn't you raise him properly Nina ??!!!! fifi
  21. Oh god what a beautiful tribute, just tears streaming down my face. And such a smooshable face - handsome Max, zoom free and young over the bridge big man. Hugs to you and congratulations on getting that beautiful boy to an amazing healthy 13 fifi & the wolfies xxx
  22. CDL is my nickname with OH and my mates! They actually will correspond about me in texts as dog girl - ie "we're running a little late as CDL has found a stray, we'll be there after a quick pound stop". Or "Dog girl is saying mean things to the people looking at puppies in pet stores, I'm scared!". Go the Crazy Dog Ladies of the world I want it printed on a t-shirt :D I'm known locally as THAT CRAZY LADY WITH THOSE BIG DOGS !!!! fifi
  23. Doesn't that just give you the sh*ts ??!! Somehow we are failing to promote good, ethical registered breeders over the byb's and puppy farms - the message is still not getting out fifi
  24. I'm lucky I work with animal people :-) But I have friends who's work has a similar attitude to Heidii's colleagues. The attitude of Heidii's co-workers is what animal rights extremists / rspca people want to play to to pursue dog show / events people. We work very hard in our little town so that our show is well attended by the public and that they feel welcome and informed. As a result, we are very lucky with local sponsorship and positive responses. fifi efs & to add stuff
  25. CONGRATULATIONS !!!!! piccies....piccies...piccies :-))) fifi
