  1. Did you end up having it removed or leaving it alone for a while longer?
  2. I feed whole egg, mine all eat the shell.
  3. WE don't know the details and we can't speculate. She could have been 1m away from him and still needed to rescue him? Dog attacks happen in nano seconds. I think the supervision mantra has lulled people into a false sense of security - some dogs should never be left alone with children. I grew up with dogs that played with us unsupervised and we never got bitten - they had the right temperament to be playing with kids. No WE don't  It's common sense not to leave your young childen unsupervised (period!) whether they be on their own or with animals...you don't do it regardless of how you grew up.
  4. Terrible but what triggered it? Where the kids supervised (and I don't mean Mum and Dad could see them from a distance). The ltitle boy had to be rescued by his grandmother - why wasn't she close by? Preventable?...possibly/probably.
  5. Yes piggy photo please and I agree, if you raise the dog from a puppy then it should be ok but same rules apply for any breed...I'd never leave them unsupervised.
  6. A prefix is such a personal thing, it should mean something to you, you have to like it, it doesn't really matter what other people think as one persons "stylish" won't be anothers.
  7. I agree... You have the power to report the barking dog in your neighbours yard, you know where it is, contained in its yard.
  8. The only addition here is Folate...
  9. I made it simple by giving them a diet sheet with all the things that they could feed and some examples of amounts and some combinations. My last litter were raised completely on raw :)
  10. I recall one of my puppies having a similar reaction to the vaccination. Not somewhere other than the jab sight though?
  11. There are companies that will deliver a van onsite...please also be aware (if you aren't already) that the grounds are known well for paralysis ticks.
  12. I think you should breed what you think will produce the best and the last thing I would do is ask for opinions here; because basically what relevance does another breeder's opinion have on what you do. Who cares :) I really cant see how you expect you are going to get any meaningful advice, when all the advice is going to come from the perspective of their own burrow to push and if they do not know your dogs or their lineage ... their opinions are just guess work at best. Do you need that? I dont think you do hon :) Go with your own instinct, it's the most objective and honest opinion you'll get.
  13. Here's the Dogs ACT recommendations... http://www.actca.asn.au/Accomodation.htm
  14. Clyde - I know you say you feel he'd never run off or go anywhere but could he have knowing you weren't there and was fretting?
  15. Sending safe and sound @ home thoughts for Alvin - I hope you find him safe and well upon your return home.
  16. Dancinbcs...can you elaborate on the wood shavings please (ie. where do you purchase, is there a specific type of shaving etc)? Any pics of it in use?
  17. I got those too ) purple for Coco, blue for Pip and green for the 4 legged grandchild Penny. They are great on the hands. And so cheap!! Think they only cost about $10 each with the extra discount on them, when they retail here for upwards of $20! They are nice and soft and so pretty. Got them for retrieving but I don't want to get them dirty The Mendota British Slip Leads are just awesome...I've been using them for several years now and you won't find better
  18. Yes, any bitch staying here is spayed by age 7 if not earlier. Dogs on the other hand remain entire if they are staying here unless castrating is required for health reasons. Bounce back rate for the girls is fast in my experience. I'd never desex during a section unless it was absolutely necessary, I'd much rather take them back several months later. I've never regretted it...but I think you have to be happy with what you have kept/bred from said bitch and not be left feeling like you could have got it right with a different sire.
