  1. Please don't allow them to c-section your bitch unless they do a progesterone test to ascertain she is close enough to ready. Sometimes with small litters, bitches don't produce enough hormone to go into active labour so if you feel she's acting off or unusually, make sure you head to the vet for a check.
  2. that sounds very similar to my first experience too. I had been listening to the puppies heartbeats and could hear one slowing down. I told the vet and she just rolled her eyes at me and didn't even bother to check. Over the next few days Kibah got sicker and sicker and I kept telling the vet there was something wrong. Eventually she took notice when Kibah was almost dead. She had to have an emergency caesar and spey and the vet pulled out one dead puppy and another died the next morning. Why is the vet going to do a caesar on your bitch Amstar? They can usually tell when she's ready with a hormone test, I forget which one. Perhaps she can whelp naturally when she's truly ready. At a guess I'd say the two puppies are large and once you hit a slow, difficult, whelping, you lose babies.
  3. When is your c-section booked for and what was the deciding factor for the date?
  4. ...and let's not forget the often common occurrence of adult dogs and bitches becoming sterile after crossing the equator. It happens!
  5. Sadly I think the lawyer would end up costing more than the boarding and vet bill, and I just want to focus on the furbies now. The whole situation zapped too much energy. I just hope what happened to us makes kennels re-think their procedures and encourages owners to ask - or get in writing - what the procedures are for ensuring 100% separation. I highly doubt that it will - there were no consequences to the boarding kennel so why would they re-think their procedures? Sure the entire situation is energy zapping but why would you not collect the antibiotics you paid for and are entitled to? Seriously no consequence?? How about a bad name and a lack of business. Not sure about anyone else but that would be seen as a consequence to me! Seriously! Bad name? I am yet to know which Boarding Kennel and it's not like there was a public announcement on several mediums slandering the kennel? I highly doubt this has caused the kennel any lack of business at all.
  6. ...and let's thank doG you didn't actually manage to "suck" anything out

  8. Mim has hit the nail on the head, personally, I don't allow my puppy people to choose their own puppy but rather spend time matching the right puppy/family.
  9. Patience is the key... Find a breeder that you feel comfortable with and wait it out, ask about health testing (whilst it is not a requirement for the breed, it is important).
  10. Personally I feel 2 homes, 2 sets of rules and 2 owners is probably quite confusing for an 8 week old baby.
  11. Probably because most breeders Showdog (and I) know don't vaccinate until 7-8 weeks vs the old 6 weeks.
  12. Maybe start a new FB group Pockets as this one was agreed upon by FB friends not random public people :)
  13. Yes - you can use tick collars in conjunction with Permoxin/Fido's Fre Itch Concentrate/etc.
  14. Personally, I find hydrogen peroxide very effective and this is what I would use to treat.
  15. Yes - both repro vets I have worked with like 150-200 million however less doesn't mean it's a waist of time.
  16. Many of my bitches still have post whelping discharge at 8-9 weeks! I doubt she was in season...
  17. A friend has used them on several bitches with good success - they do not work on bitches who have spilt seasons.
  18. I am pretty sure there are shows at KCC Park (Skye) this weekend with a decent Corgi entry.
  19. How does he/she feel about playing with Whippets? Dodger loves babies! I'll be there on Sunday. She likes everything :) I'll see you and Dodger on Sunday!
  20. Had a great time at the GSD National in Canberra last month :) I was there too! I got to meet Dawn Fraser ???? Oh! I didn't know you were there... You need to find me in Yass this weekend if you're there as I have a cute baby Pembroke who likes cuddles.
  21. Thank you for back-pedalling, none of the above is what you stated throughout the rest of the thread.
