  1. Beth you will love it! All he photos I've seen from this lens are awesome! I know your busy but make sure you pop back in with a pic or two!
  2. Sounds like a good deal, you can get this lens (on its own no extras) for just over $600 from DWI. Non IS will be ok on a tripod or if you have a steady hand and also for action shots say of Lottie running etc. Monet and Divas mum has this lens and her pics are excellent, hopefully she will pop in and add her 5c worth. I want to get this lens and have been tossing up between the f4 and f 2.8 and after shooting most things wide open with 2.8 on my 100mm I will definatley get the 2.8 but might have to compromise and get a sigma as they are so dam expensive! Will you be mostly using it outdoors in good light, if so I say go for it!!
  3. Loving the photos, Huck looks like such a sweet fella!

  8. Still nothing? I keep hoping to come in here and find good news! fingers crossed.
  9. I used iphoto a bit till I found out that uploading photos to facebook then deleting them from iphoto also deletes them from facebook, I didn't realize it syncs with facebook, silly me! I only use iphoto now to upload stuff to photobucket. I love love love lightroom, and only use photoshop occasionally.
  10. I tried it but being so set in my ways I soon went back to Lightroom. I'd be interested to hear others views.
  11. Love the book fair shots, I think they fit the bill. I went to the gardens yesterday to practice on flowers with my Macro lens and I snapped a few random shots. Thought this one as cute, obviously father and daughter.
  12. A few more. This one reminds me of little shop of horrors, "feed me"
  13. Wow amazing, its wonderful to see first hand the kind of effects dogs have on people in need. :)
  14. Tash, I can imagine the anguish you must be faced with, my heart goes out to you and I hope your pup is returned safe and sound soon. Its hard to imagine there is such scum out there that would do such a thing!
  15. That is so true, I know this is totally a different scenario and I don't want to derail this thread but in the palliative care ward one day one lady I visited with my girl Tully was truly amazing. I had passed the room and didn't go in as the lady was obviously sleeping or unconscious (I didn't know which) and she had family members around her, I walked passed the room and a lady (the daughter I thought) came out and asked me if I could take Tully in to say hello to her mum, she told me she was in a semi conscious state and had been highly agitated, I lifted Tully up to her and the daughter got her mums hand and run it down Tully body and you could see a change in the lady right away. The daughter just thanked me profusely saying she hadn't seen her mum that relaxed in weeks and she was very grateful I was visiting on that day. I can imagine that dogs would have the same calming effect on Kids with any sort of disability. They are truly amazing! :)
  16. They also have a facebook page HERE I didn't see the show but Katie the founder of DKD was also one of the trainers for the SEDA puppies in our area. She on occasion brings the DKD dogs to our obedience classes, there is a few people in our town with DKD dogs in their homes till they are trained and assessed to go to their new families. Its a fabulous idea. They are always on the look out for carers for new dogs that come in to the program. They also rehome the dogs that don't make the program. I think that it would possibly work like SEDA dogs and Guide dogs if the dog doesn't make the cut as a therapy dog the foster family would have the option of adopting the dog they cared for in the early stages. Edited to add, the benefits of pets/dogs as therapy is so amazing and its hard to explain, after seeing it for myself, its more amazing than I could have ever believed it to be, especially for some people. (my two girls are accredited therapy dogs) So for children with a disability it would be just awesome!
  17. Channeling aliens in that last shot! Love the comb over to. More great shots. It's so great to look back on puppy photos to see how much they have grown!
  18. Raz Facebook page is here HERE Was so hoping to see good news in here today. This might be a stupid thought but with so much publicity if these thieves are serious is it possibly they might try to send her out of the country?

  21. Good luck with that JJ, All I am ever clucky for is another puppy! A freind is getting a puppy soon and I can't wait to get my camera onto him! I've never photographed this particular breed before so much excitment! Don't ask me who it is as I'm not allowed to spill the beans yet as no one else knows. (think this person has rellos on DOL) Pet stock had 70% off their wag wear dog clothes todaya, so my girls scored 2 new jackets each, (like the need new clothes.) but they are so cool! All terrain jackets that I wanted to get them earlier on but they were too exxy, but at $15 each who was I to say no! I always say they have a better wardrobe than me!! Good that your busy JJ, We are finding the BGS getting busier by the day.
