  2. Dog is old and no longer fun to have around Kids have moved out and don’t look after the dog anymore
  3. I have a diabetic dog and I am wondering how common it is for owners to take blood from their dog and test it? I was never offered this option by the specialist vet when I picked him up. I have Keto-Diastix for urine and this tests Glucose and Ketones. Am I missing anything by not doing blood tests?
  4. Maybe it was somebody known and they knew the dogs and the dogs knew them.
  5. Any luck? I live not far from Kellyville and I will keep an eye out for them.

  7. I'd call and ask a few questions, mainly: what are they doing specifically to improve their lines? are they doing the correct record keeping and are they aiming to register the breed officially? how many litters do they have on the ground at one time on average? where do they bitches and studs live and where are the pups raised?
  8. Very nice site! I uploaded a pic of Hazel :D
  9. They are very vague facts, but they are all accurate.
  10. I would use Paw Paw Ointment. It's soothing, cleansing and I am pretty sure it's ok if doggies lick and ingest it!
  11. or you might find something here: http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/nsw/con...act/vpa2003215/
  12. Kinda..I'd say its up to them if they want to report.. but they do have to act. PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS ACT 1979 - SECT 26AA Powers of veterinary practitioners to destroy animals 26AA Powers of veterinary practitioners to destroy animals (1) Where, in the opinion of a veterinary practitioner: (a) an animal is so severely injured, so diseased or in such a physical condition that it is cruel to keep it alive, and (b) the animal is not about to be destroyed, or is about to be destroyed in a manner that will inflict unnecessary pain upon the animal, the veterinary practitioner may: © take possession of the animal, (d) remove the animal to such place as the veterinary practitioner thinks fit, and (e) destroy the animal, or cause it to be destroyed, in a manner that causes it to die quickly and without unnecessary pain. (2) The reasonable costs incurred by a veterinary practitioner in the exercise of the powers conferred upon the veterinary practitioner by subsection (1) in respect of an animal may be recovered from the owner of the animal as a debt in a court of competent jurisdiction by the veterinary practitioner.
  13. Does your husband play with her before she starts humping? Humping can be a response to arousal, not necessarily a dominate gesture.
  14. Unless Monika has changed her policy since I worked with her, she does not take private surrenders.
  15. I'd say she is not sure. She is signaling this with her yawning in an attempt to calm the situation.
  16. What a shocking and horrible event. If a dog of any breed attacked any of my dogs like that and with a comment such as the one your aunty was given, I think I would have murdered the attacking dog then punched the owner in the face. Wishing a speed recovery.
  17. My vet quoted me $80 a few days ago. I'll check out if she is happy to go ahead with that price otherwise I will be in touch with you.
  18. If the dog is coping.. then I see no problem. One of my dogs went blind very quickly due to diabetes and he is coping just fine.

    Lots of Photoshopping.
  20. TAFE. Specifically Richmond TAFE NSW.
  21. The writer in that link talks nothing about the massive genome wolves have. Humans have selected, for many many years, a certain look and characteristic from every litter that is born and given the ability to pass that look or trait. It's really no surprise we are so far from the wolf to make it appear unbelievable on the surface to the layman.
  22. The family dog when I was a child was a JRT, lived to 16 and her only health problem was a slight heart murmur in the last year of her life. Lived on My Dog he whole life. My current dogs have a BARF diet and premium dry food. Shall see how long they live! eta: Glenda the family dog died around 5 years ago now.
  23. Ive been taught at TAFE that if a dog vomits bile its the pancreas bring up the unwanted fat. I would be looking at the diet and if it is too high in fat.
