Ferrets too, They are a Class 1 declared pest animal and as such is a prohibited pet in Queensland I know a few with them as well.

Yes I do know exactly whats been going on and what has happened over the years. I also know that people deliberatly mis label the breed to avoid the laws. people openly advertise APBT's on the internet fo sale in Qld The dogs are very much around, I know 3 people with them, and all 3 come from the same breeder who is renowed for internet promotion, and is even a member on this site(or was) A&S The dogs exist even in a state such as Qld, and they all ways will. They are a popular dog. They cant be bred out, or exterminated, no matter what the carnage may have been.

Absolutly it can shorten the lifespan faster than someone in the prime of there life I do hope she makes a recovery but i dont like her chances much. You can't seriously believe what you just wrote can you? I know that is theoretically what would have been. but the laws cant prohibit dogs in reality. I dont meant to sound negative but the Pit bull laws a farce no matter what council it is anywhere in australia not just Qld. They are everywhere, no matter how blood thirsty and cruel a council might be.

The very fact we had racial prototypes and now races says so, I cant believe a gene study needed to point it out. if someone wants to look at it in a micro scale just look at the diversity of pit cairn islanders to see howit happens on a world wide scale.

A couple years ago a townsville newspaper had a great write up on all this, it was a time when heaps of staffies went missing all at once, the directer of the RSPCA shelter basicaly said yes dog fighting is around and they know about it, and thefts do occur because of this, but also many other reasons for dog theft, such as stealing to sell, stealing to breed, and simply dogs getting out and lost. They mentioned that some staffies fetch a high price such as the steel blue ones. They also said if theft is suspected, say a gates open or disturbed the police are the first point of call, it sets up a paper trail if anything should turn up, and it is documented if prosecution should occur. I'l see if i can find the artile online, might be a long shot hough.

Cool. I remember reading about these cats that were crossbreed, they look like melted candles. Hypoallerginic or something.

Do cat breeders feel the same way about all this with cats?

On the grass area, it would be easy to just put a few star pickets around where you want it sectioned off, and use a roll of chicken wire or dog wire around it, then just clip it on the pickets with cable ties. That's all I did when I put down my grass seed and waited for it to get established. No dog got onto it.

I think there are more than enough purebreeds in the world to keep every one happy, and if someone doesnt like the way the particular purebreed has gone, dont give up on it, fix it. X breeds will be around for ever, stray mutts shagging stray mutts will all ways occur No need to diliberatly create them.

For a treat, Shmackos ,and its true, my dog goes whacko for Schmackos lol. not the raw hide ones I reckon they are dangerous,but the soft ones, full of preservative flavours and colour enhancements though.
