  1. do you make these yourself? I love them, so cute. They'd be funny with long pom poms on the ears instead of the top.
  2. any more pics of her wearing it. some side ons perhaps.
  3. glad they've finally pinpointed where the problem is. Did the vets ever explore his shoulder early on, when they were trying to work out where the pain was? I often find vets haven't got a clue with soft tissue or movement related injuries. Often "muscle men", the blokes who work on greyhounds are better for diagnosing this type of thing. Good luck anyway.
  4. The article said "rehabilitate" which is a bit odd, as the pups were earlier in the article, stated to be in good body condition. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story. I wondered about this too. The artilce mentioned regaining their trust, but I would imagine 5 day old pups wouldn't even have their eyes and ears open, I dont see why they need to regain their trust when they wouldn't have learnt to be distrustful, apart from normal puppy instinct.
  5. Every room in my house is the dogs room.
  6. Harper appears to be having a very uneven growth spurt  She looks like you've photoshopped 2 different dogs together. She'll be lovely when her front catches up to her back though. I'm not sure I've ever seen a blue brindle dane.
  7. Puck will have a go at them if they try to steal his food, but so far he's got amazing bite inhibition, I was shocked at how much restraint he used. The chooks know to keep clear of him, although they still hover by and if he misses anything they'll grab it.
  8. Yay!! a feel good story I saw it on the news last night. Good on the controller for getting it rescued. It looked alot like my ginger cat (now departed) but mine was a she.
  9. I'm also wondering why it took so long to have the poor dog put down. She said it was 3 hours still conscious. Sounds like a dreadful ordeal for all involved.
  10. $750! to cremate a dog. I wonder why she doesn't bury it.
  11. I would assume anyone asking to swap like that is just kidding.
  12. It is just as easy to grab a leather collar which I think is less likely to get caught on things. A leather collar is not as loose as a chain collar so its pretty hard for your dog to get his foot caught in it (so long as the collar is the right size and well fitting). I tend to agree with this. I've heard some horror stories of dogs wearing chains and collars. Even a leather collar needs to be fitted correctly but depending on your dog and if there's more than one, how they play and interact there could be more risk. My whippets all wear collars but if I had the kind of dogs that were forever grabbing at each others throats (in play) I might not have collars on them for fear of teeth getting caught in the opponents collar. Something like that probably never would have occurred to me until I read it here on DOL.
  13. Fences are supposed to keep dogs confined. Poor old dog, there's a good chance it was blind and deaf at that age, so vulnerable. What an awful way to end its life.
  14. Awww Happy birthday Stan the man. I hope it was a goodie.
  15. Just wondering if you've contacted the breeder and sorted things out yet? I hope you can come to an understanding and smooth over any ruffled feathers that might have arisen. Please let us know how you go and good luck in finding your perfect puppy.
  16. Zoey isn't even mine, she belongs to Iggy Mum, but I've now trained her 3 to leave the chooks alone too. It's harder to train the chooks to leave the dogs alone. Yes Pers, Blackie was one of the rescue chooks, she doesn't even lay me eggs, she just struts about the place and terrorises the dogs.
  17. Innocent little Zoey, minding her own business eating her lamb rib. 18. that's hilarious. Looks like Frodo was anticipating it though, his eyes are shut.
  19. To put those costs into perspective too ... I'm given a $10 voucher for every $500 I spend in Pet Barn. I get those vouchers nearly every 2 to 3 weeks! What do you spend it on? I probably spend about $20 pw on dog food for 5 dogs. I might be a little bit more but not much. I'm curious as to how dogs can cost so much.
