  1. I just took an elderly friend to the vets Friday week ago to have his old GSD put down due to bone cancer. My friend cried, I've never seen him show much emotion before and it was very sad. The vet is a wonderful young bloke, incredibly thoughtful. I had to go in to the surgery to pay for it while the owner waited in the van as that's where Magic was t be given her wings. The vet asked me if we had the hole dug, and how we would manage to get her from the van, if we had a blanket to put her on, he thought of everything and was quite prepared to come out to help us if we needed it. I think he just must tell himself, he will do the absolute best by the animal and owner that he can, and he sure did. He comforted the owner afterwards and told him he'd done the right thing. I imagine the worst times would be putting down a healthy animal.
  2. Well have you fired up the 7D yet? What's the verdict?
  3. Thanks everyone. I doubt I'll be going back to get more pics collie.
  4. Never seen or heard of that movie before but I did a bit of searching. It's from a movie called Zues and Roxanne directed by George Miller. cute dog.
  5. I would hope you would have the good sense not to tie it up in a public place and go wandering off to leave it alone.
  6. If you are talking about the photo I've posted, the owner was nowhere about, they had no control over what happened to their dog, who took photos of it, who approached it, anything. I have no problem with not getting their permission to take its photo and do what ever I choose to with it. I should add, that photo was taken in a public park. It was tied up to a barbeque shelter.
  7. Ooh, I like this one. Who do I credit it to? He/she is doing a good job hiding their teeth. I always feel a bit safer if they're doing that. I'll PM you my name.
  8. What like sending a text, come out come out where ever you are?
  9. I wondered if there was some Arab with those cute little curly ears.
  10. :D aren't you glad you asked. :D go on off you go buy buy buy!!!!
  11. Ooooh who's a pretty boy then? What will you do with him?
  12. Never heard of them. How do their prices compare to DWI? a few of us have bought from them and as far as I know we've all been reasonably happy.
  13. I love it because it's given me the action shots I'd been craving for. Simple as that for me. I never could've got them with my 400D.
  14. Yippeee I'm glad you got it before the weekend. Yes, it is a thing of beauty isn't it.
  15. I dont know that there is typical behaviour, dogs vary but some dogs will hang around the last point they saw their owner, so she might have gone back to the point she left you. I would suggest going back at night because it's quieter then, less noise distractions and your voice carries well. Call and then listen, call and listen. I lost a whippet many years ago and I went out every night, as well as in daylight hours. I'd been doing pamphlet drops and had a few phone calls of sightings so had a vague idea of the direction she could've headed in. I drove my car slowly and yelled till I nearly lost my voice. It was freezing cold and she came running to me out of the fog. I dont know how far away she'd been but I was going slow enough for her to follow my voice. I hope you find your girl soon. edit. I've just had a look on google earth. Have you spoken to the nearby property owners on Glendevon rd. or at least dropped pamphlets in their letterboxes. That might put her in their minds.
  16. are you sure it's missing or perhaps it was never there in the first place. I've got a lopsided girl, 4 on one side 3 on the other but when she had pups 2 more suddenly became visible right close to the 2 lowest ones. They had milk but if you looked now you wouldn't find them. As to the inverted nipple it wouldn't hurt to get it checked out, especially since you dont know if it's always been like that.
  17. I wonder how much all that gear would be worth if it was added up. Lots and lots.
  18. nah, I dont really need a new camera, if I'm realistic, my 7D is still more than enough for me. :D
  19. sounds like a massacre, how sad, and I agree that private people shouldn't be allowed to have exotic and endangered animals.
  20. bewdy, should be a couple of $ cheaper here then, or has our $ dropped below theirs again .
  21. These are of a dog I didn't know, owners no where in sight and it looked pretty scary to me, I kept myself and my dogs well away from it. Not great photos and not sure if it's what you want.
  22. Hearing them breathe must be cool, I can imagine sitting out on a porch on a Summers evening listening to the whales, how good must that be. When they do sing can you hear it above the water or do you have to be underneath?
  23. wow, it must be an amazing experience, I've never seen them. Can you hear that noise they make above the water, or do you have to be underwater, and can you smell them too?
  24. then why aren't you posting many more pictures here! hmmmmmm? That's a bit odd. Sounds like they're selling so many they cant keep up with the demand. Still they need to let you know what's going on.
