  1. You dont need a full frame to get good shots, most of the amazing pics you see by photographers here are taken with crop and alot of them are now professionals. I know nothing about Nikons but alot of people say they're better than Canons. Thanks for the kind words about my pics, I feel mine are very bland and amateurish compared to many here But I do have fun and for me that's all I am after at this stage. :D
  2. I have a crop camera. I upgraded from the 400D to the 7D, a big jump, a big learning curve that I am still going through, I wanted the faster auto focus and faster frames per second. I dont think I'll need to get another camera until I wear this one out.
  3. aah OK, with Canon we call it crop (1.6) or full frame. I think Canon only has 2 full frames, all the other models are crops.
  4. what a good mum you have. Read the manual and practice practice practice :D
  5. I dont even know what an fx camera is! Do tell.
  6. I tried to get panning shots of Sarsanets girls but they were so full on and I never had time to check my shutter speed. I wish I could've increased it a bit. Anyway, these certainly convey movement and action.
  7. I always laugh when I see your Frenchie photos Frodos mum. 2 of those pics look like little Frenchie statues have just been dropped from the sky, with their little legs all straight and stiff.
  8. Is that a later version of photoshop Luke?
  9. I have one heated pet bed, it's Pucks and he loves it. I'm thinking of buying another one for Tag. I also have a snuggle safe, bought for the whippets but I take it bed with ME like a hot water bottle. I've got a heavy serge woolen cover for it cause it's a bit hot otherwise.
  10. And I wonder what happened to the mothers. Probably dead I suspect.
  11. I thought I was seeing things here at first. Love the GD puppy too. Frodos mum those Frenchies are the funniest little things. BTW I was looking at furniture shops last week and one had a whole window display of cushions with Frenchies on them!! Redangel those fiesty redheads.
  12. Frodos mum that pony reminds me of Pepe le Pew
  13. Keep posting Binx, we can never have too many whippies. :D I took my camera today but the whips just trotted along sedately. I had to dig through the "archives" and found this, my very first attempt at panning taken with my 400D Feather going psycho. and Penny nothing in focus here but it gives the impression of movement anyway. Billie, a little whippet I looked after for a few weeks one Christmas.
  14. I like the bluey tones in the first one. My only criticism would be the blurry legs. It doesn't look right to me, if the head was in focus at that distance the legs should be too. If you have altered it to make the legs blurry can I please see it with them in focus. I feel it would look much better.
  15. thanks Kirty, I was pretty happy with that one too.
  16. Ooooh pretty pony Frodos mum another frozen motion.
  17. Panning, these are heavily cropped, she was a long way off. and an attempt at a merge to capture her running sequence
  18. another frozen, not a sighthound for a change. Taken when the Yarra river was in flood a few months ago.
  19. good idea merrirose. I love the horse with its tail flying like a flag. :D I'm hoping to get out soon but it's been so cold here, I'll post a few earlier ones too. Panning and frozen motion
  20. I dont think it's panning because the camera is still and the tongue is moving, but it's very cute all the same.
  21. I'd be concerned about any fur products coming from China, I am sure they are just as cruel to a rabbit, cat or asian jackal as they are to a dog.
  22. How about a heated dog bed :D http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/220234-heated-dog-beds-on-special-if-anyone-has-a-cold-dog-d/
  23. This would be better in the cruelty section. Dogs being skinned alive!
  24. I thought the "jrt" looked like she might have a bit of whippet in her. she's very leggy.
  25. she might be better off with a bunny or guinea pig than a dog of she doesn't want the kids near it.
