  1. have you used the speedlite yet? Has it opened up new doors photography wise? Can you show us some results please?
  2. have a read of what kja wrote here. She's explained it really well with beginners in mind. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=203571
  3. That's how whippets are supposed to be, but tell that to my 5. they didn't read the whippet handbook apparently.
  4. I relented and rugged up and took them out. I put coats on the 2 little blue girls but the others went naked. They all loved it, the psychos!
  5. Harry looks like a cartoon drawing in #3 and I love Lolas cute little face in the last one.
  6. Bloody hell, it's raining and 6 degrees outside and the dogs are pestering me to take them for a walk while I am seriously considering going back to bed. I am a bad dog owner.
  7. great explanation. this might go well as a companion peice to yours. I hope you dont mind me posting it. http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=414088
  8. Love the hare! Idiot ears zoomies or this Hey, try running with your eyes closed, it's fun!!
  9. gee, if that was people skin you'd be saying they look like melanomas. I dont know if dogs get them though. I would be checking with a vet I think. I hope it's nothing.
  10. this does seem very wasteful, I dont understand why you wouldn't feed more of the roo to the dogs, or even eat it yourselves. Do you have to get permission to shoot them, I thought roo shooting was fairly strictly regulated, it certainly seems to be in Vic anyway. Do you tan the skins? I do leatherwork with roo and it's so hard to get good skins these days. I wish I had the stomach for shooting bunnies, I've started getting them on my property. If it was safe I'd let my dogs after them but my boundary fences only keep horses in, not dogs and I could see the dogs charging across the road and onto other peoples property.
  11. Hmmmmm, she certainly looks like she was having a pleasant dream there....almost too pleasant if you get my meaning.
  12. I like the 2nd and 3rd best. I dont think they are completely in focus though and if they were they'd be really really good. What settings and what lens were you using? Did you download the CD with zoombrowser and DPP that came with the camera onto you computer? If so you can see where your focus points were, although it's not always an indication that you had focus, cause I've had it show it's in focus on there when clearly it's not. You've got a gorgeous subject who doesn't seem to mind being photographed so I know we'll be seeing lots more of her.
  13. thanks cresties Hey Annie, has that black dog landed yet or is it still heading skywards? It looks like it might have just kept going.
  14. I wonder how she is coping right now. Yes, RIP little pussycats.
  15. Great idea, I've tried before without much success. I'll see if I can get something today.
  16. You still might be able to crop them to make them look more balanced.
  17. Crappy how? Maybe someone here can give you some advice. Post 'em anyway, no one will laugh.
  18. My mother used to refer to those dreamy seductive eyes as "come to bed" eyes. I like the ones best where she has the tiniest hint of a smile, yes indeed, seductive is the word.
  19. good to hear things are going well. Hopefully soon he'll realise tucker time is good time and he wont get a whallop over the head. Then again some dogs act like they've been abused when they haven't.
  20. Have you tried the 55-250 yet. You'll be better with that for the doggies playing, you can zoom it to 250 and see how it brings them close. That's the one I'd be using for now.
  21. what lens were you using? try to have the widest aperture, meaning the lowest number f/stop. That will more likely give you the subject clear and the background blurred.
  22. Penny zoomies. I think this is one of my favourite running shots of my whippets
