  1. I had some fun today with peanut butter, sounds kinkier than it was but it's a great way to get their attention. The hardest part for me was to keep the other 4 inside while I lured one out.
  2. I am so excited, it's the same feeling I get when I am buying a new lens, I cant wait to get it back.
  3. Posted here cause it's from the Canon enthusiasts forum POTN about a bloke who unwittingly bought a stolen lens. It's recent, just last week. His thread title ended up being quite prophetic. http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=839212 Here's a quick run down from Adorama which tells the story http://www.adorama.com/alc/blogarticle/POTN-pays-it-forward
  4. Yes, I feel the same, but I am relieved I didn't have to keep on fighting to get them to see that.
  5. They've agreed to repair it at no charge.
  6. How cute it is that walk of triumph in the second pic, you can certainly see she's pleased with herself. I love the look of intensity in the first and thirds pics too.
  7. I sent the lens back to Canon as the retailer had told me to. Canon still has it. If they wont fix it I certainly will go back to the retailer and try to get them to replace it. I dont like my chances though. I've actually had a bad record with that retailer. I've bought 2 expensive items off them and both have failed. I got a film camera from them in 1996 which was faulty and ruined most of my once in a lifetime holiday photos. I took it back, they repaired it, I got it back, it still didn't work properly, they repaired it again and another fault surfaced, they gave me a new camera and when I'd had it for 13 months it stopped working altogether. I took it back and they said it's not worth fixing. Then this lens. Even though I realise it's not acutally their fault that both items aren't working, I dont think I will buy anything else from them.
  8. I was watching a program on the ABC last night and this photo was talked about. It's the most expensive photograph ever sold, or was at the time the doco was made. it's called The Pond - Moonlight and was taken almost 100 years ago. $2.6 million (US I think) http://cameraobscura.busdraghi.net/wp-cont...d-moonlight.jpg
  9. Well, so far NO good. I got a quote today for $374.63!!!! Considering the lens was away for most of July last year it's only about 8 weeks out of warranty, PLUS I'd reported the problem while it was still under warranty. I am drafting them another letter in the hope they will see that it's just not fair to charge me to fix this problem. If they dont fix this I certainly wont be buying another 50mm lens from Canon.
  10. Yay, he's looking more relaxed now. Yes Rocco was pretty special, you were lucky to have had him share his life with you, even though it all ended too soon.
  11. I dont know if many breeds are actually born without front dew claws. Alot have them removed shortly after birth. Alot are born without hind dew claws though.
  12. I dont think you should feel the need to apologise for not editing your photos.
  13. Make sure you flip your watermark in the last one if you do.
  14. that's great Ruth, big congratulations!
  15. If they really are making a living selling their own photos then they're a professional.......I suppose.
  16. He doesn't look whippety to me either, lovely dog, but I cannot see whippet in there. I hope he finds a home soon though.

    a horse called Arrrrrr! http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/812046/
  18. how bloody cute are they. I am sure in the first shot Charch is saying Mum, she's spoiling our shoot.
  19. I dont think they've even considered that it is a living breathing creature when they designed that thing, plus when you wash a dog you need to get in there and rub with your hands to get right down to the skin, and in all the nooks and crannies, and of course there's some places you need to avoid. I dont think the machine would be very discerning, I prefer the hands on approach thanks.
  20. Lovely photos, what an expressive face he has, very handsome boy indeed, the first and second are my faves. Love the colours in the first, love the lack of colours in the second!
  21. I see what you're saying Greytmate (after a bit of reading ), since they're only racing for between 2-4 years generally, they are most likely covered. Whippets, I am not sure what part you are disagreeing with. I didn't say all greyhound trainers have grotty kennels. I didn't say they dont do the 3 x puppy vacs either.
  22. so pretty, this is in Adelaide right, you could be in Europe somewhere looking at those.
  23. so are vaccinations really lifetime cover? My vet was telling me they last about 3 years now. Do we really never need to get our dogs vaccinated again? That would be great if it was correct.
  24. Phwoarrrr! that's one fat camera and lens! Noice doggy too.
