  1. Yep my boy barely looks up from his snooze but my girl doesn't leave my side..ever
  2. I'd go either Central Animal Records or National Pet Register. They're the two most common ones I've dealt with, in VIC anyway.
  3. Yep this. I would have dogs in a campervan we were in too but not in a caravan on their own.
  4. Mosley is six and used to always squat to pee when he was younger. He lifts his leg these days, but probably only 50% of the time  I don't think he's ever peed on himself though, I just probably haven't noticed  He's a gorgeous looking boy :)
  5. That's me too Christina, I always talk about how spoilt our dogs are  I don't really think there is a "normal" way to raise a dog, people raise their dogs the way they like and the way that suits their lifestyle, and the beautiful thing about dogs is that they don't care! As long as they're getting their needs met, they're happy :)
  6. I haven't really experienced it to be honest, maybe because most of the people I have in my life are also animal lovers
  7. LOL LG, That's interesting though. I take issue with a lot of things council seems "allowed" to do.
  8. Thanks, I was only seeing the other one. Perhaps because of the lower amount of likes. And speaking of lower amount of likes.. oh dear. Way to actually drive people to support Hugo's owner :/ The photo of the pei after the entropian op, what the f***? It's almost like they don't want to seem credible? I get called mean on a fairly regular basis these days. I take it to mean "right". As in "You're being so right about it being stupid of me to feed my young mastiff puppy 2kgs of chicken necks every day, along with calcium syrup and free-fed kibble." And sadly, that's not an exaggeration, that's actually what he was feeding the poor pup. He'd been told that MOAR calcium and ALL OF THE FOOD would make his mastiff into a bigger, stronger dog (read: better penis extension). This is terrible, but you make me laugh
  9. Yeah we have some like that kicking around somewhere. The dogs love them!
  10. Our childhood dogs, littermates which were chihuahua x JRT both lived till they were 17. One got a brain tumour and was pts the other started showing signs of dementia and was pts when it was time. Our other childhood dog was a boxer who lived till 11 and was pts eventually due to brain cancer.
  11. Totally agree. If they don't care enough to contain the dog for his own safety, I guess I find it a bit "off" that they'd suddenly care so much when facing his destruction (despite how many times it could have happened under a car while they mismanaged him). I agree. Poor dog pays for its idiot owners, once again
  12. Yeah I've never heard of vasectomys being done in rescue, just castration.
  13. Yes we feed them, usually frozen, but I prefer carcasses as they're more substantial . We've never had an issue with either :) We also feed turkey wings and legs and lamb necks.
  14. I think about this a lot as we get a lot of dogs surrendered at work due to the elderly owners health. I guess to me, we can't see into the future and any one of us could be gone tomorrow, so I think as long as you are capable of caring for the dog when you get it, that's ok.
  15. I'd be happy to help with voice overs if you need anyone. I always end up doing the recordings on the phones at work that no one else will do etc
  16. Ok let's clear this up firstly. You can search for yourself to be sure on the makers website, but Interceptor Spectrum does worms INCLUDING tapeworm. Sentinel Spectrum does worms and fleas.
  17. I swear if I had a chance to get my hands on him......
  18. Fostering is a great idea, plenty of greyhounds out there that need foster homes I would love a third, an older grey but Maddie is a biatch and three won't fit in the Getz so that's out the door I would love to foster a grey!
  19. Thanks guys! Management is probably my biggest reservation, our two get along pretty well but I can see the need for extra supervision and awareness when adding a third. Don I'd love a kitty but the OH would prefer not haha. I'm slowly talking him round though!
  20. Our two guys are around 6yo now and we've been thinking about getting a third dog in the next year or so. It will probably be a rescue/pound dog and we're not too fussed on sex but I'd love opinions on what combo is best, though I imagine it largely depends on the individual dog... we currently have one of each and both are dog friendly. So I'm just hoping to get some practical opinions I guess....do you love having more than 2 dogs? Is it too much? What are the pros and cons? We pretty much live our life around our dogs so time/attention isn't an issue  Thanks in advance :)
  21. Majority of dogs are heaps smaller than most humans. A supposed adult, supposedly educated lost his temper with an animal. Size is but part of the equation, imo. His behaviour stinks. No, I am totally appalled. He is a bully. I agree with you VM. I am not trying to excuse him in any way at all. I just wondered if we felt even just a teeny weeny bit more appalled because it was such a cute little dog. I don't, can only speak for myself though, wouldn't matter how big the dog was.
  22. Lisa, I think Aussies have a knack for that. Lili is my little soulmate
