I haven't noticed a bias in general, no. I have no bias either.

Why would a breeder mention their website in their ad if they don't have one/ haven't touched it for 10 years? Why not just say. "Call/email. For details"? It makes no sense... Exactly. Don't specify a website if it isn't current.

Regurging Saliva - Not Sure Of Vet Diagnosis
Dame Aussie replied to a topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
KC is funny, Lili has caught it twice and doesn't visit dog parks etc. Mosley hasn't had it once and he has the same lifestyle/vaccinations etc. Go figure  -
Ask D O L The Decider Of All Things In Life

So they stole a random person's dog and killed it for no reason? Doesn't make sense....tell you what though, if that were my dog they'd be dead themselves. Are we sure this is even legit? It seems totally bizarre

Aaargh, People Who Don't Chip/register Their Dogs
Dame Aussie replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
We scan the whole body as it's actually fairly common for chips to migrate and down the front legs is the usual spot. Rarely you'll get chips that are faulty or just really old and aren't able to be picked up anymore. depending on where you live you could be on a few different registries. The most common (in Vic anyway) are Central Animal Records, National Pet Register and Australasian Animal Registry. NSW has its own registry but most other states use CAR or NPR. Get your vet to see which registry it's on (try the petadress site, just Google it and enter the chip no) and then just contact them to update the details :) -
Aaargh, People Who Don't Chip/register Their Dogs
Dame Aussie replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yes. That is all that they can do. When a dog comes into the pound, you can ring one (or all) of the various registries. (with the exception of the NSW companion registry). Pounds and authorised places have passwords etc to look up or give to the operator. They only provide name and contact number. If the contact is wrong or out of date, there is nothing more we can really do, other than hope you will eventually get to ringing the pound to see if your dog is there. Yep. -
Breeder Concerns - Desexing At 8 Weeks
Dame Aussie replied to Kokoro's topic in General Dog Discussion
It can be done safely at that age with no issues. Growth can be affected (probably very minimally) however, so if you would prefer not to desex or desex when matured I'd find another breeder. -
This is a good argument for people being vego  and creepy lol

How To Remove Pine Sap From Coat
Dame Aussie replied to HazyWal's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I cut a chunk of hair off Lili's leg the other day as I couldn't get sap out! Peanut butter for next time! -
I was talking to my mum about her first dog just yesterday, she and my grandmother got him from the vic market when he was 6 weeks old and brought him home in a little crochet bag. He was supposedly a Lab Kelpie cross but turned out looking like a Viszla or a Weim or something  He was around till he was 12 and was the best dog ever according to mum :) My Dad's first dog was a Samoyed, this was in Finland so a very common breed over there.

Aaargh, People Who Don't Chip/register Their Dogs
Dame Aussie replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
I work in a pound and I swear I feel like a private investigator most days trying to track down owners  most dogs we get are chipped but the details are almost always outdated. Update your microchips! -
First family dog was a purebred Boxer bred by close friends. My first dog as an adult was an Australian Shepherd and I'd recommend either breed as a fantastic family dog :)

Ok well ill wait for the research then.

Sorry, I should have said they have a carnivorous bias, but have adapted to be able to live as omnivores, that's what I was getting at, they aren't strictly carnivorous.
-
Dogs are omnivores and can do well on a vegetarian diet. IME Most people who feed a veg diet are veg themselves and therefore do not want to partake in the purchasing of animal products, so ethical reasons. Disclaimer, my dogs eat meat.

Breeder Won't Supply Limited Register Papers.
Dame Aussie replied to WeeRedDogs's topic in Puppy Chat
No reason it should take that long IMO. My puppy didn't come with her papers but we had them no more than a few weeks later. I'd call dogs NSW. Good luck :) -
That trainer sounds like a moron. That is IMO a pretty much ideal life for most dogs! Our guys used to be alone for up to 7-8 hours (not anymore) and coped perfectly well as long as we exercised them. I'd get a new trainer :)
-
Our guys are 6 and have lived in 5 different houses  they always settle in quickly but the one thing the buggers do sometimes is pee on the floor in the new house just to mark their territory :/ even though they're otherwise perfectly toilet trained.

I couldn't see anything like that there. Cute pics, Lili hates the vet but Mo loves it lol
