  1. I so agree with this. I have a mutt, I love her to bits and couldn't care less what she is. So many people seem to think their mutts are a cross of 2 purebred dogs, well most are not, they are bitzers, heinze 57 varieties. If people want to know what breed their dog is then they need to buy a registered dog, otherwise accept you have a mutt and move on.
  2. it's a mutt, cute, but still a mutt.
  3. I suggest you voice your concerns to the greyhound board in your state.
  4. I just bought my grehounds the coats from the wolf's den that zip up along the back, can't fault them and I, and the hounds, are very happy with them
  5. I have noticed some people are still calling Jed by her first name. As most people here prefer to be known by their board name could everyone please refer to Jed as Jed. I don't mean to upset the posters still doing so but Jed is Jed and to keep saying her real name is , IMO, disrespectful of Jed. thank you, enjoy your day
  6. Too bad. No agreement - no dough. If I was sent the photo with an invoice in that situation I'd laugh and send the invoice back. I agree. You cannot charge people for a sale, when they genuinely have no idea they've entered into a sale agreement. I wasn't sent a photo, just a link to it and no I didn't buy it.
  7. What about the reverse, when people offer to take photo's of your dog/s without revealing they expect you to pay for them? I have often taken photo's for people and just passed them on, no expectations of payment, always people I know, never strangers, except once I sent video footage of a dogs BIG win just cause I had it.
  8. Congratulations! and what a great photo
  9. to Ashely and the Basset owner. And to Mum for taking him
  10. This is my life with dogs as well, now with greyhounds, previously with GSD's

also attach a long line to her collar so she can be moved off the beds etc safely. I would do this before a squirt bottle because she might not react to the bottle whereas she has no choice if on a long line. Make sure it doesn't have a handle etc that could catch on something. Tell her "off", guide her off with the long line, give a treat tell her she is a good girl. Tell her to get back on the bed and repeat. (if she is going to be allowed on the furniture) That way she is learning to get on when asked and to get off when asked.
  12. not always, sometimes there aren't show homes available, so the stunning show prospect is placed into a pet home on limited rego. Plenty of stories here on DOL telling about the wonderful pet who would have made a stunning show dog. So, the breeder can't change a pet placed(stunning show prospect) on limited register to Main register if both owner and breeder agree? Sorry if this is a dum question? I don't show or breed. Dedicated pet owner only. yes they can but my point was limited registered pups are not faulty or 2nd class

  14. so 8 all up, 5 girls, 3 boys and 3 aren't black! Hope the 2 latecomers make up for their tardiness by being trouble free from now on.
  15. a pup that may not be of show quality is hardly faulty, it could be as something as minor as a mis mark, a bit too much white for example. Something that has no bearing on the pups ability to live a long and normal life with it's new family.
  16. have to say I would be very unhappy if an owner of one of my dogs gave it the yearly heartworm injection, I think the injections are very bad, and any health guarentees I had given would be terminated.
  17. congratulations Larissa on the babies. Had to at the screaming.
  18. another worming tablet, plus pal puppy food that poor pup, it's backside must be burning
  19. Mine vary from 1 1/2 inch to 2 inch all the way around and they aren't lined, no coat on greyhounds that can get matted :D Mine never wear a slip collar, only the proper martingales that are fully adjusted and only the ones Gail Wild, a greyhound person, makes. eta the collars are the same width all the way around, the 2 inch ones are for the boys, the smaller ones for the girls
