  1. Hi KA, I too am an early riser in Canberra. I can't say that I enjoy the frosty winter mornings @ 430 am :D. I have now got myself a fabulous travel mug that fits in my doggy walking belt, which I fill with hot tea. It has really helped me to get going in the first 20 minutes of the walk where I am freezing!
  2. Yep we will walk unless it is a severe electrical storm (I actually can't remember the last time we had one though). Kody has a waterproof coat and he loves to be out and about in the rain.
  3. Wow thanks for that tip FionaC, I was not aware you could get venison ears. Will have to see if I can get some. Lyn - I have purchased sheep ears and have found that they only take Kody about 5 seconds to gobble up, so I prefer the pig's ears.
  4. This just breaks my heart. Poor Troy just trying to protect his family and he has paid the ultimate price. And how awful that little Tyler had to witness such a heartbreaking event. I hope the police catch the intruder and he pays dearly. RIP Troy.
  5. Link to article A FIVE-year-old British girl suffered severe facial injuries after she was mauled by her family's American bulldog. The girl, named locally as Tanisha Hall, was taken to hospital along with her stepfather, who injured his arm trying to force the dog to release her, Sky News reported. A police spokesperson confirmed neither of the victims' injuries were considered life-threatening. Officers were called not long after 7pm on Sunday to the home in Northampton, central England, where they seized the dog. The animal was humanely put down by authorities Monday. Neighbors expressed shock that the "bubbly, lovely" blonde girl had been the victim of such a brutal attack by the family pet. American bulldogs are known for being stocky and strong, but they are considered suitable family pets in the U.K. and are not banned by law. The Dangerous Dog Act bans the ownership of four breeds: the pit bull terrier, Japanese tosa, the Argentine dogo and the Brazilian mastiff. But the frequency and ferocity of dog attacks, as well as a rise in dogs bred as weapons, has led to calls for the 1991 law to be updated. Hopefully the young child recovers quickly and the scaring both physically and mentally are not great. Poor little girl.
  6. Megan I am sorry to hear that you were robbed. I am relieved that your furkids were not harmed in the process though and I know that would be all that I would be worried about too. We have had two break ins in my street this year, within a couple of days of each other. One of the break ins the creeps came prepared with a truck and cleaned the poor homeowners out. A friend of mine also got done over and they grabbed her bag with the house and car keys. The scumbags came back later that night and went for her car, thankfully they were home at the time and her hubby scared them off. You must feel very violated. Hopefully the cops catch these creeps! Hopefully you will be feel safe once again ASAP.
  7. I think photos are called for Kissindra...... That is if you know where the camera is lol. I hate moving!
  8. Ms Genki I am glad to hear that your baby is home with you now. I hope the pain isn't too bad for her. for a speedy recovery.
  9. Thank goodness it was not more serious! And thankfully some very kind and caring people stopped and were able to get your girl the care she needed quickly. Hopefully Brodie will have a speedy recovery.
  10. Baifra please do not blame yourself. I know that this is devastating to you and your parents, however it is a tragic accident which you are not to blame for. Please try and be strong for yourself and your family. RIP Phoebe.
  11. Still thinking of you Jed and sending you warm healing vibes. Candle re-lit. Thanks for the updates Troy.
  12. Congratulations Iltby! The photos are fantastic! I especially like the one of the cat, such pretty markings.
  13. What a hilarious start to a super weird conversation Xolo! You are super quick with the wit! ROFLMAO :D Good one PF The dog is giving me strange looks because I cant stop laughing! What a cracker of a thread!
  14. I agree Rommie & Lewis. Jazzie such wonderful strength, and a kind and caring soul, to be able to see through your own grief and think of and send well wished to someone else in need. I hope your father and baby girl are recovering quickly. I am so sorry that you have lost your mother, I will be thinking of you and your family too during this difficult time. Sending you and your loved ones Mona - your poem was beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Thinking of you and your loved ones Jed. Please continue to be strong.
  15. I am so so sorry to read more of this heart breaking news. Run free TBCSITW. Watch over your mum in her time of recovery and need, and look after the babies you now have with you. Oh I just can’t comprehend how awful this all is. It is hard enough losing a loved one to old age, let alone so many and in such a tragic incident. I guess one small comfort is they were together, and hopefully unaware of what was happening. RIP little ones; play happily in those heavenly playgrounds.
  16. What a lovely idea. Thinking of you Jed, and sending you and your fur babies healing vibes. RIP those that have crossed.
  17. OMG this is just horrible! When I read the article on the web this morning I wondered if it might have been a DOLer. I can only imagine the terror of it all. Such a devastating loss, it’s bad enough losing all the treasured possessions, but to lose your dogs is just beyond heart breaking. I too have always enjoyed reading Jed’s posts and have found them very informative and respectful, regardless of the topic. I hope that Jed recovers quickly. Thank you Steve and MDBA Pacers for coordinating all the support and making arrangements for the animals, it must be huge relief for Jed. I will make a donation when I get paid tomorrow morning. Sending love and healing vibes to Jed and her skin and fur family. May everyone make a speedy recovery. RIP to those dogs who didn’t make it.
  18. Good on you Muttlover! I bet Lady feels very special in her carriage. So glad she can still feel involved.
  19. What a oxygen thief! His parents should be held accountable as well. Hopefully he meets some animal lovers in prison. I also hope the other dogs are recovering well.
  20. Great photos everyone! I am usually the one taking the photos, so I a fairly certain this is the only photo of Kody and myself.
  21. Darien I am absolutely disgusted to read about how this clinic treated you, your daughter and her dog! And sorry for your loss. I can understand that the clinic may have been burnt before, but surely they could have been assessing the dog whilst you were swiping your credit card? As if you all weren't stressed enough! And then not to willing refund you the difference?! I am so pleased that you have made a complaint, hopefully the clinic will be informed and perhaps they will rethink their procedures. RIP little dog.
