  1. Just dont get people like this , disgusting.
  2. I really cant understand how a human mind can do something like this. I mean why not hand the dog in the the RSPCA , or drop it off at the local VETS and even do a runner, but to starve a dog, or any animal, in your backyard, just cant fathom it.
  3. OK, try this link now http://www.dogruns.com.au/ sorry, hope it works
  4. Hi We have built a lovely paved dog run for our goldie, it is about 6 m by 3 m. Howver, we need some rain and sun protection, the pavers are also cold, so looking for a wooden dog house ( a big one, more like a cubby house/shed) she can go in and lie down in, have space for her bed etc. Something like this www.dogruns.com.au/dog-runs-enclosure-timber-house-roof-over-house-only without the metal run and the 2K price tag Can anyone point us in the right direction in Melbourne or someone who shipps to Melbourne, for an affordable timber dog house type thing iykwim. She needs a secure encloser, we have that, but we want to protect her from the elements. What are others doing? Thanks Snowball HOpe the link works, not sure how to make it clickable.
  5. Vile, but my goldie loves it too , we have a covered litter tray, and she has worked out how to stick big boofy head in and still find what she wants. Still trying to break the habit...
  6. That is just lovely , good on the hospital for letting the dog in.
  7. It doesnt really make sense. It punishes the majority for the irresponible dog ownership of the few. If anything laws for appropriate fencing when a dog has access to the front would make more sense, then a blanket rule no dogs in the front.
  8. nothing much more to say, but how weird and stupid.
  9. Well done for reporting them. We need to keep on reporting and not giving up on those poor animals who are stuck in horrible places like this.
  10. We have a domestic mixed up bitzer young cat from the RSPCA. He is a softie though and is still finding his feet with our goldie (7 months). They genuinly like each other and will sniff each other, play and sleep on the same mat, although I still need to teach our goldie that she is a lot bigger and has to be careful with our cat. I think they will grow up to be great friends, and are allready on the way there. Our cat will randomly pounce on our goldie while she is sleeping and nibble her ears/throat and our goldie will wag her tail furiously in delight at the attention
  11. Great photos. Always lovely to see dogs out enjoying themselves with other dogs.
  12. I would definately get an extension to the fence. That dog has plenty of time to try and one time, he will get lucky and get a hold and get over. Our neighour had a small yappy dog, that tried to get over, no way I thought, but after weeks of trying he finally figured it out. Luckily our puppy was inside in her crate. Not worth the risk
  13. I think he would, but I am the meany and says no to going on our bed
  14. Bisart Dobes, that is the coolest story. I love my dog, but I also love my cats, so I can totally relate to the look of disdain a cat can give , although I wish my cat would learn to do that with our goldie puppy. Instead she jumps on our goldie, attacks the neck and our goldie just lies there and wags her tail furiously in excitement. I guess any attention is better than none for a goldie
  15. opps wrong post in wrong section
  16. Agree, a new mother is wired to wake up to the smallest sound. I was as tired as I ever had been in my life when we had our newborn, but I woke up instantly if there was a change or a little noise. Something else going on here, sleeping tablets, alcohol, drugs, .... poor baby, poor family
  17. That is sooo horrible, doesnt bear thinking about. Dogs that size would have tried to fight back :) I would also move out of the area. I could never live there again and wonder who the lunatic was who did this, and what if they strike again.
  18. Yep, wouldnt risk it, agree with poodelfan and showdog. Good luck, but toddlers and exicted dogs, not a good comination
  19. The ability to sniff out diabetes and cancer always amazes me, how cool is that.
  20. Wow, what a beautiful spot. I would love to let my goldie go swimming, but dont trust her recall at all who know where she would end up trying to get cuddles. But, yeah, definately the dog should have been on a long lead and muzzled if out and about, totally irresponible otherwise with others comming.
  21. Oh, poor little bundle. Hope it all turns out well. Good reminder to make sure animals are microchipped and details updated.
  22. Small dogs should be just as well behaved and socialised as big dogs, it annyoys me no end to have a little terror run around and snarl and snap, and the owners just laugh and say she is being cute... sigh.... as you can see I find it frustrating.
