  1. I would ask for a refund too. If they say no just mention the hernia and say you wouldnt have put a deposit down on a pup with a fault ( not big i know , but it might make them budge).
  2. There is one in my street and they are gorgeous! But two , wow you would need space
  3. So sorry T, we think they will be here forever, and then way too fast they go downhill.
  4. If you don't mind it sleeping inside, there is no reason why it cant be outside when you go out, or during the day for periods anyway. i work from home, but mine go out during the day anyway. P.S where is pup comming from? might be my breeder .
  5. That sounds fine. My two are outside from mid morning allday ,my bully has a coat on. They have kennels, beds and access to the garage with their couch. After the evening walk and meal they come inside. Make sure outside is safe and lots to play with and a safe warm bed. if you can get the pup used to being outside alone while you are home early on its easier. just do it for short periods of time to start with.
  6. OMG you are buying a little piggy Firstly, start as you mean to go on, it won't be impressed if you let it sleep inside then suddenly expect it to sleep outside. Perhaps buy a kennel now aswell, get it up off the ground, and put lots of bedding inside( mine have feather doonas, and heat pads). If its outside during the day its still pretty chilly atm. it has the choice then. Try not to stress about the whole thing and let the pup fit in around you, bear in mind bullies only do things if there is something in it for them!
  7. Really pleased he found a home, although i really wanted one i took a step back as my two are just adjusting to Appollo passing and becoming inside dogs too, so didn't want to upset the balance atm. I had to rethink with my head not my heart
  8. If he got his foot stuck he could have done it anytime, worse if you had been out, so now you know, block the gap with privacy fencing. As long as the balcony is high enough for kids not to climb onto i wouldnt worry, just relax, dont make a big deal of it.
  9. before you buy again, one is best , ( i see you bought one of each sex, hope it wasnt to breed from). check next time you buy from a reputable breeder who health checks, better to buy one healthy pup.
  10. I already sent Jane a message this morning. she will be at work atm. Any help trifecta would be great, i'm not sure he is pure ,he looks it to me, but i'm no expert. I kinda jumped in a bit quick as have always wanted one, but in reality my two are adjusting to Appollo passing and shouldn't really add to the pack atm. If he had no other options i would take him, but if he can find a spot somewhere thats great. can you let me know ?
  11. she has changed the ad to say he will not go to hunters, so clearly they are after him. We have messaged back and forth and she is actually in sydney not vic. I need rescue backup if i was to take him, he is already desexed.
  12. Anyone up for this? She wants me to call her, but don't want to step on toes if someone is planning on taking him here? Plus he is not in my state, but will if he has no other choice.
  13. If anyone wants to put their hands up thats fine, i just messaged her to see if he is still available. it doesnt say if he is desexed and i would worry he may get snapped up by the wrong sort so did it quick.
  14. i have sent her a message, i know i am in another state ,but would happily take him as a foster, they are one of my favorite breeds!
  15. main meal at night, turkey feet for brekky.
  16. The average price for a designer mutt round here is nearly $2000. I don't thnk it a measure of your commitment if you cant afford the price tag for a pup, and vice versa. there is more to it.
  17. How about a cattle dog? My BT might look the part, but my cattle would be the one to actually protect us. BT's are not for everyone, they are clowns, you will laugh everyday at them, they love kids and are a great deterrant i have found, obedience, hmmmm, they need to know whats in it for them
  18. Sorry, didnt mean to jump down your throat  Just trying to show the other option if a pup wasn't that important.
  19. I was merely trying to give her an alternative option. i am a single mum too, i have had my breed all my life, i don't have the almost $2000 price tag for a pup, plus i don't like pups anymore, ( years of fostering 9 month old bull breeds who destroy everything is enough). I got great advice here on breeders whose type i liked, then contacted them and they had several mature dogs ,( under 3) for sale. i would go this route everytime now.
  20. I took my dally and Wei once as they chased bunnies everyday on walks, but they had no interest in a plastic bag, they both took off to the long grass around the edge of the course and started bunny hunting
  21. If you are doing this because you cant afford to buy one outright perhaps look at getting a slightly older cocker? i know with my breed ,breeders keep dogs to breed from or show and then you can get them much cheaper when they are done. I got my last girl who was 2 for the cost of desexing. It maybe worth looking at this route?
  22. sometimes the ones we least expect effect us the most.
