Yes i thought that too. Although he was open to me suggesting someone, just dont know anyone other than steve, who will be full i can recommend. The peace this morning is bliss as they dropped it to inlaws till weds

I think it might be it just barks whenever he leaves them outside, which atm seems to be when his partner leaves for work around 7am. Then he must put them out again late arvo. Its continual barking, without stopping for breath, not the odd bark here and there which i would have no problem with. He clearly realizes there is a problem already as said they have a trainer booked for weds. Will see who it turns out to be and what they tell him to do.
-
Perhaps i could ask him not to do it early in the mornings then till he gets ontop of it. i think they thought it would be easy going like the cav pup, its cute and furry, which about as much research as they did on cockers
-
No idea, never thought to ask. Give them a call, they are very helpful.

Its barking outside. The neighbour informed me he going to start a new job in 2 weeks , so i'm worried its going to be left out allday Then. Atm it has about an hour of barking early in the morning and again about 4 ish.

So , my new next door neighbours moved in and then bought a cav pup. He came round to say hi, and introduced himself warned us of impending party, and gave me his mobile number when they went away a few weeks ago. This was a couple of months ago, all good. So for the last 2 weeks around 7am there is a constant yappy barking for about an hour, waking my kids up. ( one works as sound engineer for gigs ,so often doesnt get home till after 3am). He works from home, so i know he is there. I popped round a few days ago to retrieve a ball that went over, and there is the cav puppy and an 8 week old cocker pup too. Owner rolled his eyes when i asked if they were multiplying, and he said his partner had made him call in at the petshop and they bought said cocker. He then said it had been a nightmare since, cav had now stopped being housetrained, was trashing the garden and house, and i casually mentioned the barking and he said it was the cocker. So this morning at 7 am it starts again, after about an hour it had woken both my kids up and i was just really over it, so i sent him a lighthearted text, saying could he do something. He apologised, said they were trying controlled barking, which he said wasn't working, they had been to the vet yesterday and bought lots of gadgets spent a fortune ,and the pup was only 10 weeks old so i needed to be patient as its young to learn. I replied with its not too young to learn, and that vets are not behavoirists, still trying to be jokey and friendly. He said he has a trainer coming weds , and will drop pup at inlaws till then. But wouldn't tell me which trainer is coming. I told him i could recomend someone. So any ideas? Steve will be too full to get in quickly, and i might fall out with him over this soon if he doesn't sort it! Hills district .

I buy roo mince from them, its cheaper if you buy 10kgs, i get it bagged into 1kgs bags which adds a little more. I also buy livers and turkey feet there.
-
Seven Hills petshop at Boomarang Place. I buy all my raw meat and bones there. Cheapest i have found. They bag mine up ( roo) into kg bags for me. Yhey also sell barf etc, and deliver.

Mine is the same, still very mouthy at 7! I think she was taken away too young aswell and kenneled as a breeding bitch. i wouldn't suggest you stick your hand in a bull terriers mouth , they are not known for giving way easily. i would try what huski said, and try and redirect.

What Is The Worst Thing About Your Chosen Breed?
juice replied to Steph M's topic in General Dog Discussion
Bull Terrier, health issues, mainly skin. And the fact you have to be on top of them all the time, almost to the point of being mean before they respect you! They such a strong pushy breed whose attitude is "whats in it for me!" -

i think those who see it often know the reality, as hard as it is to accept. I stood in BP a few weeks ago and watched a lady come in with her 11 year old tiny little dog to surrender it, whilst her daughter went out to the kennels to look for a new one. ( it was terminally ill, and needed to be pts , not surrendered to spend its last moments alone and scared, but its cheaper than paying for the green dream. she told me she loved it too) -
To be honest you don't need acres for a dally, i live on a 460sqmtr block! however i walk them come rain or shine twice a day and Appollo would be offlead for most of it running. He was the easiest dog i have ever owned, including all the fosters. He was rock solid with other dogs, perfect recall ( unless a bunny was involved!),and was a real softy. I lost him 6 months ago now, and not a day goes by when i dont think of him and wish i could have him back, just for a day. I have had many dogs over the years and not one has effected me like him. He was perfect. I used to get people telling me they were stupid and destructive, he was neither, so if you can fulfill all their needs they will steal your heart.

Good luck, its hard to bite your tongue i know! I would still get him out of there, if she can offload him this easily ,he wont get the care needs later. I want to go in guns blazing sometimes, but have found the softly softly works better in getting stuff across, even when i do want to call them a freaking waste of space! -
Just remember this breed is bred to run the distance, they need alot of offlead running! ( or get him to run alongside a bike?) My boy still went out twice a day for a an hour each time offlead running after bunnies, till he was way over 12! They seem to be in fashion again, we have 2 near us now, both walked onlead up the street and back, it breaks my heart. I don't see how the breeder can enforce anything you do after you pay for him, but if you want to keep him entire, i have noticed other dogs tend to have a go at them more, perhaps they see them as a threat? Also bear in mind dallys suffer from stone forming, my male had 2 blockages during his life, even with a diet to help prevent it. if it sounds like i am trying to put you off, i am , unless you are really committed to them and their needs dont do it.

well done guys! please keep us updated, keen to hear he is actually out of there, thats the main thing. -
Natural remedies are not pain relief, and the dog is clearly in pain. Its unfair to keep him in this state, and if you cant afford the treatment perhaps you should consider pts, or seeing if a rescue would take him on, although doubtful.
-
He sure is a fighter, surgery at his age and still strong.
-
What everyone else said, but also remember vets like to sell what they stock, so don't be swayed.
-
Like behavior, vets generally have no clue on food either, mine told me my dogs would get salmonella if i continued to feed raw :laugh P.S pics?
