I use Cowboy Magic whitening shampoo on my Tri Cav. It does a great job and so does their detangle and shine product.
-
Is that the shampoo one? I have one of those too, they're great.. The Bissel vacuum is a different appliance, big, noisy, cumbersome and the damn hose keeps falling off but it does the job.

I now have 4 vacuum cleaners and I hate vacuuming. I have a Miele Cat and Dog, a Dyson DC11 that I'll get rid of because I don't use it and one of those very cumbersome Bissel Pet Hair Eraser upright vacuums. Now I have the Roomba and I love it. After 2 days with the Roomba my house is clean, no dust, not a dog hair in sight...well not on the floor anyway, and I haven't had to do a thing except clean the brushes and empty the dust thingy. It just tootles around the house on its own and when the brushes need cleaning it beeps and then tells me to clean the brushes. The Bissel is fantastic as far as power goes, it will lift the most stubborn dog hair out of anything but it's big and heavy to manouvre.

It doesn't sound crazy to me. I feel the same and rarely go to the Rotty thread these days because seeing all the beautiful dogs and puppies brings me to tears. I lost both my girls, 2 years apart in the month of September. Both to osteosarcoma. Losing my heart dog was a life changing event that I never want to experience again. I'll miss her forever. Before I lost my girls I never imagined I would be living without a Rottweiler, not after 25 years of sharing my life with them. I won't have another because I just couldn't go through the pain of losing one again. I understand RL1.

I wonder if your friends have ever used a laser pen light to play with this dog. These often cause light/shadow obsessions.

Coat Handler Anti-static Detangler Spray

I use Cowboy Magic detangler and shine too. I'll use it on dry or wet hair and brush, brush, brush. It'd doesn't have eny detectable perfume and does what it claims to do. I also use their shampoo. Love their products. -
I did their fast track private lessons some years back. The method of training was not suitable for us and though I'd paid in advance for the full course I quit before we completed it. At the time I had a very soft puppy who needed positive/reward based training and that's not where we were going with it. This was quite a few years ago and training has evolved since then and hopefully so has their training style. It wasn't Basil who was training us, it was someone else from Command. I've since spoken with someone who attended their group classes and she was happy with them.

I'm so sorry for your loss of Zara RL1. I lost my beautful Rottie girl to osteosarcoma at just 7yo. I miss her every hour of every day. Sophie will be there to greet you Zara and so with our lovely Faith, Rottweiler who I lost to the same disease 6 months ago. Rest In Peace Zara. Fly free with the other Rottie angels.

My vet charged double that amount for cleaning my elderly Rottie's teeth. One tooth needed to be extracted so I guess that added to the cost. I requested fluids and pain relief. She was came home with pain meds and antibiotics so I thought the price was ok. I had bloods done before the surgery and that was an additional charge paid for before the surgery so not included in the $1000 cost.

Erny, if you want a dental specialist Steven (or Stephen) Coles was/is at the Sandringham Vet Clinic. Not sure if he's still there because it's years since we went there. He extracted two carnassial molars from my elderly GSD. He did a brilliant job. The vet wouldn't touch the teeth because he was worried about breaking the jaw in such an elderly dog. Maybe Google or the phone directory will tell you if he's still practicing from Sandringham.

Just wondering how someone could accidentally put three packs of rat poison in a park. Sounds like a deliberate action to me.

Nah! I don't want any money for it. PM me your details and I'll post it off to you when I can get to the post office. I have a dodgy knee at the moment and have to stay off it as much as possible. Are you allowed to send dog cologne through the post? I know we can't post perfume. I guess if they don't know what the post bag contains they can't do much about it.

I rarely use it at all because my dogs aren't smelly. If I do use it I usually spray it on my hands and then gently wipe them over the dog. I've never sprayed it directly onto the dogs.

If it has a red heart on the front of a white bottle I have a bottle of I Love My Pet Doggy in the tropical scent. I think it's full or almost full. You're welcome to it if that's the one you're looking for. I had quite a few varieites of dog cologne but threw most of them out. I kept the Tropical one though because it smells too nice to bin it. I still have another one called Very Berry that smells lovely but the plastic top thing has gone missing. The spray is intact but it would leak if I posted it. I use Hamish McBeth Coconut and Jasmine now. I love the smell of coconut.

Additional Food Other Than Dry Dog Food?

I would not be cooking pet mince from the butcher. There is too much bone in it and cooked bone is brittle. -
Homeless People And Pets - Accommodation

I'm not at all surprised. Public housing in Vic is a shambles. An ex friend of mine was provided with a 2 bedroom unit for the disabled when her elderly mother was alive. She put her mother in a nursing home 2 months after they moved into the unit and the mother died within 3 months, but the perfectly able bodied daughter is still occupying the unit 12 years later though she lives alone and has, on occasion, rented the other bedroom out. This is a very nice single story unit that was fairly new when they moved in. Her neighbour in the similar adjoining 2BR unit left to live with her boyfriend and that unit was vacant for 26 months before Public housing put new tenants in. I think they only took action because people in the street kept complaining about the state of neglect of the property. The place was clearly vacant and it's a wonder squatters didn't move in. She said she advised the housing commission...or whatever they're called now, that she was vacating Then there is another woman I know who has a public housing unit in Toorak amongst privately owned properties. Public housing provided the unit for her 12 years ago. She hasn't lived in the unit for the last 9 years because she's been living with a series of boyfriends. I guess she's still paying the rent or they would surely have put someone else in there. This too is a 2BR unit. Her child was 4yo when she moved in and he's now 16yo. The Public Housing system needs a huge overhaul. There are desperate families and singles living in cars and on the streets while perfectly good properties remain vacant. If they got their act together there would be more properties available for those in need. -
When my Cav boy had yeasty ears he also had eye discharge that the vet said was not related to the yeasty ears. I didn't buy that because the eye discharge smelled yeasty and formed a hard crust under the eyes. I got rid of it by gently massaging lanoline into the crusty gunk under the eyes, being very careful not to get any in the eyes. This softened the gunk and made it easy to wipe away with a warm, wet face washer. I held the face washer underneath the eye for a few seconds and then gently wiped the crusty gunk away. Now that he no longer has a yeast problem he's had no further eye discharge. Just as an added precaution until the yeast problem was resolved I would rub in some lanoline under the eyes after I bathed him so the gunk didn't settle and go hard and crusty.

I highly recommend All Animal Eye Services. My vet had been messing around for a month trying to fix an indolent ulcer on my elderly Rottweilers eye. We were eventually referred to Simon at All Animal Eye Services who booked my girl in for surgery the next morning. Everything went according to plan and at our check up 7 days later the eye was declared in perfect condition. That plus it cost me half the expense of my vets account with his messing around trying to fix it.

Welcome to the forum. Take your dog along to the vet and they will inform you of your options and give you a cost estimate.

I bath and dry my Cavaliers just before they go to the groomers. They're never clipped, just a light scissoring to tidy them up because I'm not very good at scissoring. My groomer charges $50 per dog. She gives me a report sheet for each dog and their skin and coat always comes up as 'excellent'. I'm quite happy to pay $100 for her excellent work. They always look great and she grooms as soon as I take them in so they're not there for hours. I'm one of those pathetic dog owners who hates being away from my dogs.
-
I agree. I would take her to the vet. If it is heat stroke it's not something to take a wait and see approach with. Heat stroke kills. I'm not in a tick area so know nothing about them. Just one question. Why did you feed your dog warm raw meat on such a stinking hot day?
-
I bought one too that I really don't need. I already have an extra wire crate I don't need. Why oh why did I buy this soft one from COD. Think I'm turning into a online shopping addict.

I'm feeding the dogs the 'new' Dr. B. BARF and the texture has certainly changed. I find it more dense than it was. The dogs still eat it without a problem. Where I get mine from they have both the Dr. B and Big Dog. I've never tried the Big Dog, maybe I should give it a try next time. The thing that p'd me off more than anything was that I bought a heap of small freezer containers that were just the right size for the old version and the new package shape doesn't fit in them. So what's the consensus guys? Which is better, the new Dr. B or Big Dog.

So sorry K9angel. Rest In Peace little Angel.

Faith had a whitish/clear discharge when she first came here. Because she was in bad shape generally, I took her to the vet. Diagnosis was vaginitis. Vet said it would clear up on its own within a few days. It did.
