I'm too scared to open the link.... Shame on them if I'm guessing right. How can they slaughter anything let alone something as beautiful as an elephant

I used to always get the yearly vac. but have just swapped over to the monthly tablet for my girl as I am trying to keep her as chemical free as possible. I just give her a tablet on the first of every month as I too am prone to forget. Not sure about the cost difference involved with a little dog but the monthly tablets are far cheaper than the yearly vac.for a medium size dog. I use the generic heartworm monthly tabs & they work out to be about $ 35 yearly. My vet charges $ 100 for the injection.

JulesP sorry to interrupt but have often wondered about this K9 Natural. So you mix it up with a little water first?

My dad had a ACD when we were kids & he sired a litter of 6 puppies with another reg. pure breed bitch of which 2 pups were deaf. They were the only 2 red puppies in the litter as well. They were very pale reds though. We were fortunate enough to find loving homes for all the puppies including the deaf ones. They were both taught sign commands & went on to be very good obedience dogs by all accounts. It does seem to be more common in some breeds. And I also find it more in reds than blue from memory.

I wanted to give this dry food a try as I liked the ingredient list. I liked what it hasn't got in it as well. Both of my dogs have special needs. Sonny can't have grain. Stella can't have wheat, soy or corn etc etc So if I can find a dry food that suits both my guys, I will definitely give it a go as I'm very limited to choice.

Hmmm I guess...

I just had a quick browse at the M 4 Mutts grain free. Looks good. I hadn't heard of it before. I wish the fish or kangaroo variety was grain free as well. Anyway I need a set of scales now to moniter exactly how much sunday pets Im dishing out. I really like the ingredient list for this product so hope it suits but if it doesn't. Oh well. Whay is it with these reps.....being so interesting.

Thats a shame HW. Must say I too am finding lots of crumbs. The big biskets are making it difficult to measure exactly how much I'm giving them. I have been doling them out into their bowls. I usually just use a measuring cup.

I love puppies... Everything about owning one is part of the fun. Yes there is mess, mops & bucket are your best friends. But the amount of enjoyment & fun a puppy brings into your life is unmeasurable IMHO. I never want them to grow up but they do

Oh OK then, thanks JulesP. It was very surprising to me that his symptoms happened so quickly. And the turn around was 24 hours. No smell, scratching etc. So I have been keeping a very close eye on Sonny on this new product. So far so good. I don't want him going down hill again as with all those other symptoms he had his coat went off terribly. Took my almost 12 months to grow all the damage out.

TSD, my male had a similar issue with Black Hawk. His coat went off & he was scratching. Pulling his coat. Chewing his feet. Had an awful smell about him. This all ocurred very quickly after I'd just feed him. I went straight out & brought a bag of grain free dry food. The change was unbelievable. Within 24 hours all his symtoms had gone including his terrible smell. So that was enough for me to realise. No more BH for us.

Ditto VizslaMomma. Wonderful labradore :) -
Ok many thanks.

Quick question Haredown Whippets. If you don't mind. How long do you wait with a dog on a new dry food before you look at their condition & make an assessment as to how they are actually going on it? I have heard 21 days but am unsure.

Sorry folks

Very nice of you tail wags the dog thank you :) Sonny is just a divine boy ♡ After our coat issues we have bounced back looking better than ever. Thank goodness. Hope Abbey has done the same & is going well :)

Vent: Why Do People Get A Pup Without Really Thinking It Over

What really gets to me to is when a couple have a dog before any children come along & the dog is treated like part of the family. Allowed inside, walked, goes to training etc etc. & very much loved. Then the first child comes along. the poor dog is no longer allowed inside nor do they have time to walk/interact with the dog. Dog if left to it's own devices pretty much apart from getting feed. Not gradually introduced to new bub but told to keep away & yelled at because pup barks at the back door for attention. Baby starts to crawl around inside on the floor. Gradually one day out of curiosity I guess pulls herself up on screen door & dog goes straight for baby. Trying to bite her through wire screen door. Now who's fault is that??? Who paid the price??? You guessed it... Poor dog was PTS ... "Can't have a dog attacking our baby girl" ... ERRRRRRR -

Thanks Vizsla Momma & Benshiva :) I reckon I picked extremely well. No bias at all Benshiva :p Sonny is pretty awesome. Hazy, you are way too kind. As this thread was about Sonny anyway & I don't know how to edit pic's. Thought everyone would hopefully just be looking at my beautiful boy. Never been a fan of selfies or mirrors for that matter. I feel like I'm 25 till I look at one. Everything is going south so I just don't look  Feel great !!!
