I bought two of these on Sunday! Very impressed so far and the dogs seem happy :) They did two types, a cheaper one which was a bit flimsier and a metal pole one. I bought the Metal pole one, for the extra $ it will last a lot longer :) City farmers stock them (at least mine does)

My old SBT girl (RIP) used to always sleep with her smelly bum next to my head so I invented the 'fart pillow'. It was a soft round pillow that wpuld be plonked against her butt in case I rolled over during the night that would buffer the odours. Omg - fart pillow! Bha hahahha I need to get me one of those ; p

Rspca Denies Adoption To Non-prTibbie_tabbie replied to andrewang's topic in General Dog Discussion It is something that needs to be considered carefully. I went a long time without my own dog (I claimed friends dogs whenever I could hee hee, they loved a free dog walker/trainer/player). I wasn't wiling to get a dog (even tho I wanted to so bad) until I had PR, stopped moving (three countries in 8 years with work) and had an emergency deposit account. This money is to cover the transportation if we needed to return home for any reason (although no plans to go home, I have researched and know the company we'd use and have quotes) or as a deposit on a house if we couldn't find a dog friendly rental (we have our current dog friendly house for at least the next two years, during which time we plan to buy anyway). Yes, we would buy a house for our dogs if it came to it. Now I understand that we are strange (friends laugh at our 'dogs prepper plans' ) but my dogs are family so I needed to be sure we had every safety net in place before taking them on. Some countries also have breed restrictions/ quarrentine laws that have to be considered. Whilst you may feel it intrusive have you thought about getting quotes for transportation and then showing the rescue group you have the money?

Kardashian Girls Rescue New Dog To Add To FamilyTibbie_tabbie replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion Um......what?! Bruce the man of the house felt bad that Rocky the Boxer was losing his balls so his ultimatium for the dog getting neutered was that he got testicular implants Omg, now I've heard it all! Saying that if it convinces more people to desex their dogs.....

Fraud. It's a very sad day when 5 years equals an innocent life. Thinking of the family

My 8kg JRT x can position herself so she takes up the entire sofa.....it's quite a talent!

She is terrible - a combination of very smart and very lazy (unless she is chaing something!) I had dreams of long runs with my dog, hence adopting a JRT X........and I got a lazy lap dog haha! She has also played dead to avoid going on morning walks. She doesn't do mornings, we have to wake her up and try to encourage her to get up......

	Hmm, very muscular for a pointer.....maybe a mastiff type : S

Soooooo many! Let's see, the time when I thought my newly adopted girl had hurt herself on our first run together, only for the vet to discover she was faking (forgot which leg and limped on the wrong one), seeing my little tibbie man (again newly adopted and chosen by my first dog so hadn't breed researched) climb up a brick wall like a cat.......

I know the lack of recall is a bit of an issue with tibs! I don't know if it is the fact the my boy is a X (although personality is allllllll tib lol!) but he is very good. He has his stubborn moments but I just make sure he knows I have chicken and then when he sees me I run away or get down in the ground. Basically try and make myself more interesting than whatever he is looking at! I just hope I don't have to do that in the ring haha!

Update - We went to watch what it was all about.........Lil man also chose to try out the wobble board - which he had absolutely no problem with :) No startle or anything! He approached all the equipment like a confident pro.........although I did have to stop him peeing on the tunnel... The new formal course begins in early 2013, so until then we are attending the casual class so he can get used to the trainers, area, etc. Thank you to all for the advice and encouragement!!

We had a staffy who would 'bounce' off one wall into another to jump over the wall. Could she be doing that? We put another fence before the one he jumped on to solve it.

Just let one of these tough Corgis pick on a feisty Tibetan girl. Our Angel the tibbie was at a Blessing of the Pets at an Anglican Church. She was having a drink of water from the dish set out. The Archdeacon's big fat Corgi girl, named Victoria (after Queen Victoria), attacked her. Wrong move, lady! Angel lit into her like a little flying dragon. Victoria retired whimpering. Her owner, the Archdeacon, told her it was her own fault for picking on a feisty foreigner. Seems he thought the British Empire was still in place. Here's Angel getting a blessing on that day... after beating up on Victoria. Tibet 1 Britain 0 Hee hee - flying dragon! That picture is lovely :)

I thought tibetan terriers were a completely different breed We had a tibetan spaniel and a x at a club I used to train at in Sydney. They both did agility and flyball. They are, you get Tibetan spaniels, tibetan mastiffs and Tibetan terriers........although they aren't really spaniels, mastiffs or terriers, just named after the breeds they seemed most like when brought to Europe :)

Thank you everyone for the advice and support. I've contacted a local group and we are going tomorrow morning to watch the training and have a chat about joining up! Yay!

Oh awesome! That's great, I've seen a few groups doing it but they were all bc and kelpies, didn't want to approach in case they thought I was mad! Now I know it does happen over here (I have proof on DOL :) ) I will speak to some of the groups :) Thank you all for your replies!

Hello all, I have a small (Tibetan spaniel x) boy, approx 2 years old. He is extremely agile and energetic. He loves climbing, jumping, sprinting to the point that we 'play' agility when out on walks (in the park he jumps up on a low wall and follows me running along side it, we do weaves in between posts etc) I know they have tibbie agility in the US, has anyone done any with a small dog in Aus? I guess they would need a special small dog group? Incidentally at a dog day (before we adopted the tib)I tried my lazy JRT x at agility......she ran into the tunnel and lay down in it where I couldn't reach her....... It was suggested agility might not be for her....
