  1. I hate hate hate running with them My JRT is pretty lazy, I'm sure she has worked the pattern out and poops as far from the bin as she can. LOL, I have been known to put full poo bags in my pocket whilst taking the dog out on the bike... mmm, warm and squooshy... just not enough hands to hold it and I hate it slapping my hand as I pedal. Oh wow - you are braver than me, hand slapping I deal with but don't think I could put it in my pocket : S And you have rottie's yes? So considerably bigger droppings... I really shouldn't complain ; p
  2. I love that even when being sat on he is mouthing the leg, like 'come on then!' ; p When I have space and time that would be my dream mastiffs and tibs! Is this from a breeder in Tasmania?
  3. You'd be surprised! My tib's good friend is an Am Staff who comes to stay, they play hide and seek which usually involves tib sneaking up somewhere high, jumping down on the staff then darting off.....whilst stopping to check the staff is 'chasing', before he then chases her - zoomie time! ; p It isnt long until he's worn her out and they are snugglin on the sofa. Saying that as with all dogs it is down to personality and play style :)

  5. The one time I was short a bag (my dog had used three up!!), I shouted out loud (couldn't see anyone around) 'I've run out of bags, but I'll be back!!' Stuck a stick in it so no one would step in it (on nature strip), took dog home, jogged back and picked it up - laughing to myself that I looked like a jogger 'stealing' poops, and quite strange jogging without a dog but with a full bag ; p It drives me insane when people don't pick up My estate has some serial offenders, one road there is always poo from the same dog, when I find where they live they'll be getting it all back...... It gives the rest of us a bad name and doesn't help with dog acceptance in the community.
  6. And power to you if it makes your lives easier, sure he may not win Crufts but if he's happy and you're happy I doubt anyone will be tearing you apart. Haha. That can be left to the relatives. :) My Annie's 'auntie' won Best of Breed for Tibetan Spaniels at Crufts. 'Auntie' lives in Sweden (where Annie came from) & her Swedish breeder entered her in Crufts. In sub-tropical Qld, & now a desexed pet, Annie gets clipped of her heavy 'Swedish' coat in summer. Here's Annie's Swedish relative, with Crufts' Best of Breed medal on display. My Annie is the spitting image of this sweet girl (click to enlarge): !!!! :D (supposed to be the smiley face with love hearts - crazy phone lol)
  7. I have two dogs, they are very easy as they know the routine/rules. When I take on fosters it gets busier! I have flexi time, (full time), so I get into work very early, this means I can leave early. I then get home and walk/run the dogs - sometimes separately (although this takes hours), when I haven't got as much time I'll take one then come back and swap for the other two. I take the fosters by themselves until they've learnt to walk on lead. Then we have 'thinking training'. Sits, stays, paitence, paw, turns, jumps - whatever you want. This is how they earn their dinner. Don't underestimate how much mental work can focus and tire them! They then all settle for the night and I can get on with cooking dinner and the housework. Also feeding them using kongs or the like could keep them quiet. Your pup is so cute!! :)
  8. The collar seemed to help when we adopted our reactive little stress head, although we were doing lots of training at the same time. It was recommended by her behaviourist who said she had clients who felt it helped.
  9. It looks like she has a love heart on her side! My current foster has one as well :)
  10. My JRT can't stop dead so she does a big arch thing, at the end of the day it means she doesn't go near whatever the thing was and returns to me, so I'm happy. She is only let off in certain places though, as she has high prey drive so I wouldn't trust her recall around cats etc. My tibbie will stop straight away, check I have a treat/reward (this can be food or me kneeling for a cuddle and looking quite crazy) and return. Both of their regular recalls (ie, just off lead walks, nothing interesting) are immediate, no arc or thinking, but then they aren't usually running - just trotting from one tree to another, ignoring everything else including dogs. Why wouldn't they return when there is meatball or liver in it for them : D
  11. Arwghdyy! Those ears! Those legs! That little pot belly! Sooooo cute :)
  12. My jack is a great swimmer, but she stresses about getting in...until she sees a dragonfly ; p My tibbie is NOT a water baby and so stays put on the kayak with me, at the beach he stays a good distance from the water. When he has fallen in (life jacket on) he just panics and does the upright swim.
  13. Awesome! Fingers crossed here that all goes well with the trial! My boy is forever being called 'a little lion'. His habit of finding the highest place and posing doesn't help that lol
  14. A dog that can do the housework and cook dinner would be lovely ; P
  15. Cancel. Also maybe point then towards Buddy's story so they understand why.
  16. It really isnt designed to be bitten on, definitely wouldn't leave the dogs alone with it. Thanks for highlighting this.
  17. These are great! I use them when doing active rewards - ie agility, running, as no chance of choking/ dropping. My Tibbie hates being brushed but will now tolerate it, so I let him 'hold' the stick still with one paw while he licks at it and I can brush him, even his tail and pantaloons (least favourite brushing place) with no attempts to run away :)
  18. Happy birthday!! Love the agility pic haha!
  19. Last time I collected my dogs after being apart two weeks my JRT was so excited she ran to us, missed, skidded through my legs and hit the fence behind ; p She is clumsy at the best of times lol!
  20. That's horrific. Im so sorry Would the RSPCA follow it up?
  21. I've seen tibbies listed as 'pug x' before now, so maybe it's meant to be hee hee!
  22. A true tibbie then! They are fast, aren't they ; p
  23. Oh he is stunning!! *two dogs and a foster is enough* I'll have to keep repeating that to myself ; p Thank you RuralPug for getting this guy :) Have you met any tibbies before?
