Pekingese Breeder's Website (in Ohio, Us)Tibbie_tabbie replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion There is something of a tibbie 'look' or gaze, isn't there :)

Snap! They are the people Chewy does his training through and are awesome :)

I grew up with multiple GSD and my BIL had a beautiful rottie. I've also had a staffy in the past and parents and brother have one now. I must be a rare lover of GSD, rotti and staffy ; p I would own all of them again and would have probably adopted a rotti x I fell in love with had I had the house/camping car space. It was for the best tho as I've learnt so much from my little JRTx and of course discovered the world of tibbies!

It's A Burden Being Different...Tibbie_tabbie replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion Everyone wants to say hi to my little lion man tibbie x, however he is naturally aloof with strangers so I end up being a 'bodyguard' for him. On the other hand my JRT x girl adores meeting new people and getting belly rubs but hardly any one ever wants to pet her (apart from fellow and former jack owners)

That's archaic thinking. Wouldn't let that stress you out! Hahahah they obviously don't own Whippets. YOu are definately NOT their master, they are far to regal for that type of talk :) I also highly reinforce - especially my pup - for coming to me, if I call him or he just comes back, now it is a game, he zooms as fast as he can to get a reward. Shocking way to train a dog :) Rosie has that whippet aspect. I can almost see her rolling her eyes sometimes. Yep. Totally cruel, you should just boot them into submission Also never had a tibbie. If you are lucky enough they will allow you to serve them hahaha!

My little girl dog only does number 11 when we have guests around........
-
Yes - lol! Get them to sit and then watch which way it wags :)

So cute! Reminds me of my JRT watching us work outside whilst she's on the couch 'that looks like hard work'.... Nope - that's the next door neighbours (the boxer dropped the mag over their fence).

Adopting From A PoundTibbie_tabbie replied to animals's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion) The kennel I vollie at works like that. You can't just walk in and choose one by looks - it's a matchmaking service lol!

	Exactly

Phahaha! I was about to say the same thing! My boy wouldn't even look at my friend (she lurks on DOL - you know who you are ; p) after she laughed at his twirl trick. Completely turned his back on her and he knows her well. Whilst tempting to say less stubborn, it's that that makes them such funny little characters :) My JRT? Less shedding!

Just on a side note (sorry OP for hijacking!), for WA shiba fans, shenton park dogs refuge Perth has a pb in at the moment, though not on the web page yet: http://www.dogshome.org.au

Lickety Stik: Reward With Lick Of Good TasteTibbie_tabbie replied to sandgrubber's topic in General Dog Discussion I use a lickedy stick as a treat when grooming my two, but they are small and know not to grab things from my hand. It smells like gravy and the dogs love it!

Aw Mita - do cute they help each other :) Minimax -yep, no eating them off the ground, but then he didn't even attempt to, too busy giving me stink eye! AND it was meatballs and freshly cooked liver which are his fav's!
-
That's just tibbie-ness, they smell perfectly well! I started a 'tricks' class with Chewy (starting to regret it) and one of the things to do is for the dog to hold a chew, such as a pigs ear, in his mouth (start of training to pick something up) He absolutely refuses to, regardless of what I use and how exciting I make it seem, I just get a defiantly closed mouth and a disgusted look. Same with trying to get him to catch a treat. Doesn't even try, just let's the treats hit his face and fall to the ground, while giving the stink eye look ; X

Miah does the opposite, if i start blowdrying my hair, she knows im going out, so she will sit on the toy box (at the end of our bed) next to my dressing table and sit there watching me intently ..either that or she wants me to do her hair and pretty her up as well My tibbie (boy) watches me intently when I'm putting on make up. Hair or anything else he can't be bothered with, but I'm pretty sure he'd love some make up ; p My JRT doesn't get out of bed for anything other than food, she couldn't care less about us moving around the house.....unless we go to the kitchen.....

Mita Where Are You?Tibbie_tabbie replied to RuralPug's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion) He would be if he could buy a plane ticket to France! :) Did you see you got the 'Prince' label right. Just how his PAWS' carer described him, too. A tibbie breeder I saw at the royal show had pictures of hers in a little crown and cloak - perfect tibbie attire! They all think, I mean know, that they are royalty ; p
