    Sam

Sorry for your loss Lisa. Sam was a gorgeous looking boy.
  2. Nepean Shores at Penrith is dog friendly, but dogs aren't allowed inside the cabins.
  3. What a perfect evening for those sunset shots!
  4. Would I be correct in assuming the mode of transference is from pup licking itself then licking the elderly humans?
  5. I've spent a small fortune on shampoos that have been recommended for itchy dogs, but no luck so far. They all set her off, the worst being Alloveen, soap and sulphate free organic baby shampoo, and soap free tee tree oil dog shampoo. This afternoon I sponged my itchy girl with Calendula tea for the first time. She is still scratching She doesn't have redness anywhere. The itchiness flares up after every bath. I've tried leaving her for months without a bath but she got a bit smelly and had to have a bath as she's an indoor dog. So glad you started this thread Cat Lady, I'm following it with interest.
  6. Look at the size of those paws! He's a cutie. Only 6 sleeps until you get him, you must be getting very excited!
  7. Great shots Pesh! By the way, is that a stick insect in your avatar?
  8. I'm so sorry to read of your dilemma. It must be heart-breaking. Please keep us posted on poor Molly's progress.
  9. Agreed Katdogs! It's amazing how many commercials have animals in them. Something I hadn't noticed until I got my girl. She has to do a 'meet and greet' with every one of them!! In general the dogs used in commercials are highly trained and probably give the average Joe Blow the impression that that is what that particular breed automatically becomes.
  10. WOW that's amazing! I admire people with that much patience ... Looking forward to seeing the pics of completed vest :)
  11. I don't have a problem with it. I think the first pic is awesome, very powerful
  12. I was in a similar position. I checked out a number of kennels and was told by all but one that they wouldn't take a pup that young. The one kennel that would take her at 5 months didn't impress me. Luckily a friend offered to have her for the 10 days and she had a ball! Good luck finding a solution.
  13. I would be able to sleep until I woke naturally each morning!
  14. I saw this discussed on another forum last year. Apparently there are quite a few dog training schools who use a similar idea but with different colours. The general consensus was that it would be a good idea if it was commonly known by 'joe public', otherwise a waste of time.
  15. Thanks for starting this Maeby, and I'm sooo glad it isn't in OT I've just read this thread from the beginning and have had such a good laugh. Misha's most annoying habits are enough to turn me off housework! * trying to grab the broom head or mop in her mouth while I'm trying to use it, * similar antics with the vacuum cleaner except that this involves barking too ... * and of course the dusting cloth must be a new version of a flirt toy! I've recently crate trainer her and now resort to crating her on the rare occasions I have the urge to clean :)
  16. I house sit for friends of mine and would enjoy doing more of it. I'm able to take my dog with me when I do it. Just wondering if this is something that is acceptable to you if the dogs get on? Or do you only want carers without a dog?
  17. what a mixed bunch they are and how gorgeous! keep the pics coming :) it's the closest I'll come to pups for a while! just wondering what 'vetbed' is?
  18. Interesting to read all the replies :) It would be interesting to know if the doggies sharing the hoooman bed are sharing it with one hoooman or two, does it make a difference?
  19. what a journey you are having. I don't have any experiences to help you but fingers and paws crossed here for you.
  20. At this time of the year Misha starts on my bed, after 5 minutes she moves to a cooler spot in the house. She returns to my bed if it gets chilly in the small hours. I'm a bit concerned that this freedom poses a problem if she stays with rellies or friends who either close the bedroom door or don't want her on the bed! If it wasn't for the hot nights in summer I'd happily train her to sleep in her crate at night.
  21. I don't have a fenced yard so zoomies are indoors, but always the same track through the house! Thankfully it doesn't show on the floor coverings as it does on grass! It always makes me laugh, and feel a bit better cos my little dog is doing doggy things without having a yard to do them in :)
  22. I buy whole chickens and give my 8 kilo girl a quarter complete with innards if its a chicken meal night. She hates it if she get a meal that doesn't involve bones or cartilage!
  23. Thanks for the link espinay. This has been very timely information. Yesterday was the first time my 20 month old pup was fearful while out walking (she looooves her daily walks). We could hear a dog barking in the distance but other than that nothing had happened and I was at a loss as to what was going on with her, so just kept walking. I didn't realise they could have a fear phase at this age.
